Chapter 128 Dissolution of Marriage
the Johnson Group.
"So, you're planning to never let me see Sloane again, is that it?"
Sherry's face turned ugly, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Armando.
Ever since Elizabeth shoved her head into the toilet, she'd been too disgusted to eat anything for two whole days.
She looked much more haggard now.
Today, Verity, the nanny who took care of Sloane, went back to Imperial Garden to pack her things.
That's when Sherry found out that Armando had already decided Sloane would be living at Emerald Park from now on.
Sherry called Armando, but couldn't get through, so she decided to come straight to his office.
"If you want to see Sloane, I won't stop you," Armando said flatly, "but you can't enter Emerald Park, and every time you meet, the nanny needs to be present."
It was like guarding against a thief.
Sherry blinked, her voice hoarse as she choked up, "Do you really have to treat me like this?"
Tom knocked on the door. Hearing Armando call him in, he pushed it open and walked into the office. "Mr. Johnson, it's almost time for the shareholders' meeting."
Armando looked coldly at Sherry. "Are you leaving on your own, or should I call security?"
Sherry bit her lip. There was no way she'd let herself be thrown out by security.
Armando watched Sherry's departing figure with indifference. "Announce publicly that Sherry and I have ended our engagement."
Jake's side was almost ready.
As long as they could lure Timothy out of the country, Armando would still have a chance in his remaining years to win Elizabeth back.
The Scott family had recently seen The Scott Group's business grow noticeably fast because of Sherry and Armando's engagement.
The person in charge of business was Sherry's cousin, Samuel Scott.
Samuel used to bow and scrape and drink with clients, but now clients would show him respect.
He was really riding high.
A server came in with drinks. Samuel glanced at him—he looked familiar.
He checked the name tag on the server's uniform: Ron.
What a coincidence. Wasn't Ron from the Howard family, the family of Armando's ex-wife Elizabeth's stepfather?
Had he fallen this far?
Ever since Samuel learned that Sherry and Armando were back together, he'd had people investigate Elizabeth's side.
Ron set down the drinks.
"Mr. Howard, you've actually fallen to working as a server here?" Samuel said in surprise.
Ron looked at Samuel in confusion, not recognizing him. "And you are?"
Samuel smiled. "I'm the cousin of Mr. Johnson's current fiancée."
Ron controlled his anger. He was just a server now and couldn't lose his temper with customers. "Please enjoy."
As he left the private room, he could still hear Samuel sighing to the others, "I really didn't expect this. When Mr. Johnson divorced his ex-wife, he gave her tens of billions in assets, but I never thought the Howard family would end up like this."
Bruce and Ron, father and son, now relied on monthly salaries of a few thousand dollars to pay off loans. Their lives had no hope left.
Samuel's words stung Ron's resentful heart.
It was all Elizabeth's fault!
Sometimes people are like this—when things get bad enough, they blame heaven, earth, and everyone else.
Though Ron resented Elizabeth now, he didn't dare do anything. He still remembered Timothy's warning.
Just as Samuel was joking with the client, the client suddenly received a message from his secretary.
[Mr. Johnson and Ms. Scott have ended their engagement]
This client had specifically given Samuel two extra percentage points of profit because of the Johnson Group, but seeing this message, his smile faded.
"Mr. Scott, I just received a message."
The client showed Samuel his phone.
After reading the message, Samuel frowned. "That can't be right. Who's spreading fake news?"
Sherry had given birth to Armando's daughter Sloane, and she was Armando's first love.
The client smiled. "The Johnson Group's official website has already announced it."
Before Sherry even got home, her phone received several calls.
She also saw the announcement on the Johnson Group's official website about ending their engagement.
She didn't even look at who was calling and just turned off her phone.
Sherry stayed alone in her room the whole time.
Some bored netizens were now discussing Sherry and Armando's situation.
Outside, the sky gradually darkened.
Sherry gloomily turned on the lights. She took a phone from the safe, turned it on, and opened her email.
She saw that they'd sent her compromising photos of Jessa.
But seeing Jessa's photos didn't make her very happy, because Elizabeth also had photos of her as leverage.
She saw that Tate had left her a message asking her to call.
After using a voice changer, Sherry dialed Tate's number.
Timothy's man also used a voice changer. "The job's done. Remember to pay the balance."
"Help me with one more thing," Sherry said darkly. "I need you to drug someone and dump her in the ocean."
Timothy's man had already traced the location of the call and received a photo of who the new job was targeting.
Both parties hung up.
Timothy received Joe's report, his eyes darkening. He asked again, "Has Tate talked yet?"
That day Tate said he recognized Elizabeth because someone had once asked him to kidnap her. Timothy didn't believe it.
Joe said, "He said a year ago, on May 3rd, at the Starlight Hotel, he sprayed Ms. Penrose with a drug and lured her into a room to have relations with a man."
Timothy raised an eyebrow. So that's how it was.
He turned to look at Elizabeth, who was practicing yoga, and hung up the phone.
"Elizabeth, we've traced the phone's location to Imperial Garden. She also wants Tate and his people to drug you and dump you in the ocean."
Timothy mentioned this first. As for the Starlight Hotel incident, he planned to tell her tonight.
This Sherry was really a lunatic.
Elizabeth straightened up, looking at Timothy with elegant composure.
Timothy walked over to Elizabeth and sat on the mat.
"Now we have evidence, we know where the phone is, and we can find Jessa's photos, but we can't guarantee Sherry won't act despite you having her compromising photos."
"You mean she might release Jessa's photos first?" Elizabeth frowned. "Even if I have her photos, it won't matter then."
"It's a matter of probability. It might happen, or it might not. And according to our laws, she won't be locked up for long, so how about sending her out of the country?"
What Timothy meant by sending Sherry out of the country was that she'd lose her life. Some regions were already chaotic.
"Didn't you have Harry investigate the Scott family before? The Scott family has complicated motives. We can find a way to make Sherry's father send her out of the country."
Timothy was teaching Elizabeth.
How to protect herself and destroy her enemies.
Doing these things required manpower and planning.
Timothy lifted Elizabeth's chin and kissed her lips, kissing her again and again.
"I'll give you the manpower. You plan how to get that phone and then get the Scott family to send Sherry out of the country. Will you do it? Or should I just handle it for you?"
