Chapter 111 Marital Life Discord
Elizabeth woke up early in the morning to terrible news.
Timothy was actually taking her to see a doctor!
"I'm not going. I don't like taking medicine. It smells bad, and it tastes awful."
Elizabeth sat on the sofa hugging a pillow, acting stubborn.
She was wearing a nude-colored silk nightgown that showed off her slim waist and curves.
She just refused to change clothes.
Timothy had never met someone who could be this stubborn about seeing a doctor. "I'll give you candy after you take the medicine."
"No way. I can't even drink it because of the smell," Elizabeth said, then added, "Candy after medicine? Do you think I'm a three-year-old who falls for that?"
She said firmly, "I don't like bitter before sweet."
Final answer.
Timothy's eyes fixed on Elizabeth.
He usually went along with whatever she wanted, but this time about seeing the doctor, Timothy showed an unprecedented firmness.
Timothy wasn't indulging her this time. He reached out with his big hands, picked her up, and changed her clothes.
When Elizabeth didn't cooperate, he had his ways - put on her underwear, throw on an outer garment, problem solved.
Why do boyfriends and girlfriends fight?
It's because of situations like this.
Elizabeth knew Timothy was doing this for her health, but she just hated taking medicine.
She was angry.
Elizabeth went to see the doctor with Timothy with a sour face.
The doctor was a middle-aged man, and she felt too embarrassed to be angry at an innocent person.
She behaved well, answering whatever the doctor asked.
Standing behind Elizabeth, Timothy saw her become obedient, and a hint of amusement flashed in his eyes.
The doctor prescribed Elizabeth a month's worth of medicine, to be taken once daily.
With a bag of medicine in hand, leaving the hospital, Elizabeth got in the car, annoyed. "Take me back to Faith Residence, thanks."
Timothy raised an eyebrow, glanced at her, and said slowly, "Okay."
This time he returned to his accommodating attitude.
Elizabeth kept her head down scrolling through her phone, not saying a word the whole way.
When they arrived at Faith Residence, she opened the door to get out, face tight, closed the door, and walked away.
Timothy looked at the bag of medicine she deliberately left in the car and chuckled softly.
Walking into the building, Elizabeth was secretly delighted. She just wasn't taking that medicine.
What medicine? Not drinking it.
Timothy watched her march into the building triumphantly, then looked at the bag of medicine, a slight smile on his lips, and drove away.
No problem, when evening came, he'd heat up the medicine and bring it to feed her himself.
Just then, Timothy received a call from Joe.
"Mr. Robinson, the people Armando sent to follow Ms. Penrose have been withdrawn. Also, we haven't found any contact between Armando and Jake, but Jake did come to Silverlight City by ship a while ago."
Timothy tapped the steering wheel with his index finger. "Have someone watch their movements."
On the other side, Elizabeth returned home to find Mabel there too.
Mabel hugged Elizabeth's arm and nuzzled. "Elizabeth, if you hadn't come back today, I was going to follow you to Carlton Hotel."
Elizabeth laughed and ruffled her hair. "Okay, next time I'll take you with me."
Mabel said with certainty, "I'd be interrupting your romance."
Elizabeth nodded. "Okay, okay, you're welcome. Let me go change first."
She went to change into casual loungewear, and just as she sat down in the living room, she received a message from Timothy.
The people Armando sent to follow her had been withdrawn?
The corners of Elizabeth's mouth lifted slightly. Her first move was to check Sherry's Instagram.
Sherry's latest Instagram post showed photos of her with Armando and Sloane - the family of three at the zoo.
Elizabeth looked thoughtfully at this family of three, thinking about her next plan.
In music, Elizabeth wanted to keep Jessa ahead of Sherry.
Given how petty Sherry was, seeing someone she once suppressed staying ahead of her would probably not make her happy.
As for family life, the three of them looked very happy - not a breakthrough point yet.
Elizabeth put down her phone.
Mabel went to the kitchen to wash some seedless grapes. She came out carrying a bowl of washed grapes. "Elizabeth, these are really sweet, try them."
Elizabeth ate a few - they were quite good. "Can I ask? Why are your eyes red?"
When she first came in, she noticed Mabel's eyes were red, clearly from crying.
But she hadn't brought it up immediately.
Mabel ate a grape, forced a smile, and slumped her shoulders. "My parents are threatening me to go back to Border Ridge City to have a baby. They just want the Robinson family fortune."
As Mabel spoke, she couldn't hold it in anymore and hugged Elizabeth, crying hard.
Why did she have parents like this!
Elizabeth hadn't expected this. She hugged Mabel back to comfort her. "Don't listen to them. Just stay in Silverlight City."
"I don't want to go back. I just feel terrible."
Mabel had always known her family loved money.
The kind who were crazy about money.
Seeing Mabel unhappy, Elizabeth suggested, "Go change clothes. Elizabeth will take you out to have fun. Wear casual clothes and pants."
Elizabeth was actually still on her period and feeling a bit uncomfortable, but she could handle it as long as they didn't do anything too intense.
Mabel didn't know Elizabeth wasn't feeling well.
The two of them changed into casual clothes and headed out.
Elizabeth took Mabel to an arcade.
The music and noise inside were deafening.
Elizabeth stood in front of a claw machine. She inserted game coins, wanting to catch a stuffed animal for Mabel.
"If I get it, it's yours."
What embarrassed Elizabeth was that her claw machine skills weren't very good.
Mabel also tried catching stuffed animals herself. Her skills were equally bad.
They both gave up on the claw machines and went to play water gun games instead.
Elizabeth could be stubborn sometimes. Feeling a bit defiant, after playing the water gun game, she went back to the claw machines.
"Your skills are really bad." A lazy male voice suddenly appeared.
Timothy had somehow appeared behind Elizabeth.
He'd already seen her insert many game coins without catching a single stuffed animal.
He moved closer to her, placing his palm on the back of her hand, holding her hand to control the joystick.
The warmth on the back of her hand, and the warmth behind her.
Timothy's tall body pressed against hers.
They were too close. Elizabeth moved forward to create some space.
Somehow Timothy managed to actually catch a stuffed animal.
Elizabeth held the stuffed animal and looked up at him. "How did you get here?"
Timothy glanced at her. "Not feeling well, yet running around."
"Don't bring that up. I'm here with Mabel."
Elizabeth finished speaking and turned to look toward Mabel.
Timothy didn't stop them from playing. He walked out of the arcade first to wait for them outside.
"Where's Mr. Robinson? Did he leave?" Mabel put down the water gun and took the stuffed animal Elizabeth gave her. "Thank you, Elizabeth."
"He's waiting for us outside."
The two continued playing for another half hour before reluctantly leaving the arcade.
As soon as they left the arcade, their ears felt much quieter.
Timothy sat in his car, handling business.
He lifted his eyelids and turned to look outside.
He rolled down the window.
Seeing Timothy's handsome face, Elizabeth finally remembered she was supposed to be pretending to be angry about being taken to the doctor.
She took Mabel's hand and walked past Timothy's car without looking at him, as if she didn't see Timothy at all.
Not until after she and Mabel had dinner and returned home.
Elizabeth saw Timothy standing at the door again.
Her anger instantly deflated like a balloon.
She really didn't know why she was angry. When women have their period, their moods can be unpredictable.
Mabel went to her room to shower, not disturbing them.
Timothy coaxed Elizabeth into drinking a bowl of medicine before leaving.
Elizabeth smacked her lips at the medicinal taste, frowning.
She suspected Timothy was playing her?
Just then, Elizabeth's phone vibrated with a message notification.
She ate the honey dates Timothy brought, squinting as she read the message from Verity, the nanny who worked for Sloane.
Elizabeth rearranged the wording - it was about marital discord.
Armando and Sherry's married life wasn't harmonious?
Strange.
From Sherry's Instagram post today, they clearly looked like a loving family?
Really not harmonious?
How did they suddenly become incompatible?
Elizabeth was in a state of extreme shock.
She hadn't even made her move yet?
