Chapter 100 Meeting, Really Nice
Yosef had a urology appointment at the hospital today.
With Yosef out, Elizabeth left work right on time.
She was driving back to the Faith Residence community when she got a call from Jessa.
The noise on the other end was chaotic.
Then she heard Jessa's voice, "Miss Penrose, I'm at Sunrise Pub in Room 1, and someone's bothering me..."
Jessa sounded terrified.
There was banging on the bathroom door, and someone was shouting for Jessa to come out and sing.
"I'll be there soon."
Elizabeth frowned. What was going on? The Quin Agency would never send Jessa to entertain clients like this.
But she'd have to figure that out later.
Jessa anxiously hung up.
Elizabeth immediately called Indigo and turned her car towards Sunrise Pub.
She left a message for Mabel: [Mabel, something came up at Sunrise Pub. I might not be able to go out with you tonight.]
Sunrise Pub was bustling with neon lights and loud music by night.
Inside, men and women were having a good time.
Elizabeth, in a red dress, walked in and drew some curious glances.
She directly asked a server for the location of Room 1.
When Elizabeth reached the door of Room 1, two burly men were guarding it.
They gave her a once-over.
Elizabeth thought they might stop her, but they didn’t.
She pushed the door open and went in.
The room was filled with various entertainment equipment, and the atmosphere was lively.
She recognized some familiar faces from the upper circles.
Elizabeth scanned the room for Jessa.
The people inside noticed Elizabeth entering.
Elizabeth spotted Jessa.
Jessa was pinned on the couch by Randal Potts.
This instantly reminded Elizabeth of that scumbag Michael.
"Spend the night with me, and I'll give you better opportunities. Why pretend?" Randal slurred, reeking of alcohol. "Stop acting all high and mighty."
Jessa, furious and struggling, couldn’t overpower the drunken Randal.
Elizabeth’s face turned cold as she walked over, grabbing a bottle from the table.
She smashed the bottle against the table, breaking it in half.
She yanked Randal's hair back and pressed the sharp edge of the broken bottle against his neck.
"Don't move."
Everyone, who hadn’t paid much attention to Elizabeth before, was now stunned.
Randal felt a sharp pain in his scalp and something sharp against his neck.
He heard Elizabeth’s voice.
"You crazy woman, you dare touch me?"
Elizabeth sneered, "Sorry, I'm not crazy."
Jessa, still trembling, managed to get up from the couch.
"Miss Penrose."
The room fell silent.
"Elizabeth, you're no longer Mrs. Johnson. You're just a divorced woman. How dare you cause trouble here?" Brynn stood up, frowning. "Let go of Randal."
Elizabeth's status could easily be crushed by anyone here.
Elizabeth glanced at Brynn Potts and recognized her.
She was the one who had mocked them about buying a house but ended up making Elizabeth pay with her card.
Elizabeth ignored Brynn and asked Jessa, "Are you okay?"
Jessa nodded.
Mindy came out of the bathroom and saw Elizabeth threatening Randal with a broken bottle.
Elizabeth didn’t notice Mindy.
The two burly men at the door were called in.
But with Elizabeth holding a hostage, they didn’t dare to act rashly.
"Fuck! It’s Mr. Sutter's birthday today, and you dare cause trouble here?"
"If you don't let him go, both the Sutter family and the Potts family won't let you off."
"You've got some guts."
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. Matthew?
What a coincidence.
Jessa looked worriedly at Elizabeth. She had called Elizabeth in a panic, not expecting her to actually come.
Jessa needed to survive in the entertainment industry. If she called the police, who knew what the media would spin out of it.
If Elizabeth hadn't come and had called the police instead, Jessa would have been grateful. But Elizabeth came.
Jessa, with her resilient nature, picked up a bottle from the table, mimicking Elizabeth by smashing it in half.
She glared at the two burly men with the sharp bottle in hand.
Elizabeth's eyes flashed with a hint of a smile.
At that moment, someone pushed the door open.
Timothy, in a white shirt, walked in, his deep eyes scanning the room. When he saw Elizabeth, he paused.
His gaze lingered on her.
She wasn't hurt.
He walked into the room and sat on the couch.
Timothy looked at Elizabeth and gestured, "Elizabeth, come over here."
Elizabeth remained silent.
"Did Matthew invite you for drinks here?" Elizabeth looked around at the room's decorations, including balloons. Matthew's birthday celebration at a pub?
Brynn looked confusedly at Timothy sitting on the couch. Wasn't he Elizabeth's boyfriend?
Some people knew Timothy was from the Robinson family in Border Ridge City and wisely chose not to get involved.
"Beautiful Madam, calm down, calm down. Let me go, and I promise I won't hold this against you." Randal held his breath, fearing the sharp bottle at his neck.
Matthew had stepped out to make a call and returned to find the room eerily quiet.
Brynn, seeing Matthew, felt like she had found a savior and quickly said, "Mr. Sutter, Elizabeth is causing trouble at your party."
Matthew was puzzled.
Elizabeth looked at Matthew with a faint smile.
Matthew turned to the couch, where Timothy also smiled at him.
Matthew fell silent.
He walked over to Elizabeth, "Miss Penrose, let me handle this. My apologies for tonight."
Though Matthew didn't know what had happened yet.
Elizabeth released Randal's hair.
Matthew suddenly kicked Randal hard.
Randal fell forward, hitting the table, his head hurting so much he questioned his existence.
Brynn screamed, her knees going weak.
Some people in the room looked back and forth between Matthew and Elizabeth, confused.
Timothy stood up, walked to Elizabeth, and grabbed her wrist.
He took the bottle from her hand and threw it on the ground.
"For fights like this, you should call me."
Timothy put his arm around her shoulder, stepping on Randal's back as he tried to get up.
"I know I was wrong, stop kicking me," Randal wailed on the floor.
"Elizabeth, let's go home. There's nothing fun here," Timothy said softly to Elizabeth. Seeing her nod, he led her out of the room.
"Jessa, come on," Elizabeth called.
Jessa, "Okay, okay."
Jessa put the broken bottle on the table and followed Elizabeth and Timothy out.
At the door, the bodyguards Elizabeth had called were waiting.
Seeing Timothy in the room, they hadn't gone in.
Elizabeth and her group left.
But Matthew still needed an explanation from Timothy. He called someone over to find out what had happened.
The two burly men took Randal to the hospital first.
The situation wasn't complicated. Randal had tried to force himself on the actress Jessa.
Such things were common.
But daring to pull this low stunt on Matthew's birthday took some nerve.
Mindy tried to make herself invisible, but Brynn spotted her.
Brynn glared at Mindy, "Was this your doing? If you hadn't recommended Jessa, we wouldn't have invited her to sing."
Mindy shook her head, "I really didn't know. I just heard her sing recently and thought she was good, so I recommended her."
In truth, she had wanted to get back at Sherry, not expecting Jessa to know Elizabeth.
Matthew heard their conversation and gave Mindy a cold look, "From now on, I don't want to see Miss Johnson at any event I'm attending."
This was essentially a death sentence for Mindy's social life.
Mindy's face turned pale.
Tonight's party was organized by a few people close to Matthew.
Matthew usually didn't care who they invited, as it was just for fun.
But it had caused him trouble.
Mindy bit her lip and ran out of the room, humiliated.
She went to the Imperial Garden.
Sherry handed Mindy a tissue to wipe her tears, her eyes darkening, "Elizabeth knows Jessa?"
Mindy, filled with resentment, replied, "Yes, they know each other."
Who would have thought?
Elizabeth actually knew Jessa.
Sherry's lips curled into a cold smile.
Knowing each other, how convenient.
