Chapter 159 Using Filming to Publicly Take Personal Revenge
Chapter 159 Using Filming to Publicly Take Personal Revenge
Charlotte looked up and met Alexander's gaze. She smiled faintly, showing a friendly expression, but Alexander remained expressionless. He coldly looked away, his face showing complete indifference as if they were strangers.
Charlotte froze for a moment, then lowered her head and laughed. Wasn't this exactly what she wanted? Meeting as strangers - that was fine.
The wire work scenes with all the action sequences in the first part were finally finished after much difficulty. During filming, Alexander, in his role as assistant director, made her reshoot several times. She knew Alexander was doing it on purpose, but since he was the investor, there was nothing she could do about it.
The second half wasn't so easy. After five or six retakes of one scene, she was exhausted with an aching back and waist, and the harness had left marks on her waist.
"Cut." Alexander's cold voice came again.
Charlotte was completely speechless. Today Alexander, that jerk, was really targeting her. Her impression of Alexander wasn't great, but she didn't think it would get this bad. She never expected him to abuse his power for personal revenge.
Throughout today's shoot, he kept yelling cut, cut, cut. Even Dean, the director, didn't know what to do. Charlotte's performance was clearly fine - he couldn't understand what had happened between them.
Charlotte flew down from mid-air. She felt her patience with Alexander had reached its limit. She took the script from Melissa's hands and walked toward him, forcing a smile on her face. "Mr. Wilson, could you please tell me exactly what I'm doing wrong?"
She felt like she was practically shouting that sentence. Alexander, that jerk, was really going too far. He made her do the same action eight or nine times in a row - even the crew members couldn't stand watching it anymore.
Alexander leaned back in the director's chair with his arms crossed, looking at her seriously. "Can you make your expression more natural? You're playing a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl. Your expression is too forced."
Charlotte took a deep breath. If there weren't so many people on set, she would definitely punch Alexander. What should have taken five hours to shoot had dragged on for eight hours, and now everyone on set was complaining about her.
He had promised to pretend to be James's girlfriend today and go home to meet his parents. A thought flashed through her mind, and her expression turned cold. This jerk was tormenting her like this because he didn't want her to go to the Foster Villa with James.
Damn it!
"Director Dean, are my movements not good enough?" Charlotte turned to Dean beside her. She felt that talking to Alexander was like talking to a brick wall.
The set fell silent. Alexander's behavior today was indeed very strange. He didn't bother commenting on other people's scenes, but when it came to the female lead, he wouldn't shut up. The usually quiet man had been criticizing the female lead endlessly. Everyone could tell that something must have happened between these two.
Dean coughed and looked at Alexander. "Mr. Wilson, what do you think?"
Alexander glanced at Charlotte again and slowly said, "The first take was fine. Let's use the first take."
Charlotte was really angry now. The first take was already good enough, so these past few hours were just him messing with her. When the crew heard this, their complaints about Charlotte instantly disappeared. See, Charlotte was a talented actress - she must have offended Alexander somehow.
"Mr. Wilson, are you kidding me?" Charlotte's voice was full of anger. Seeing this, everyone knew that even the usually good-tempered Charlotte was angry.
The set fell deathly silent. No one dared to say a word. Everyone stared wide-eyed at Charlotte and Alexander.
Alexander elegantly brushed off his clothes and stood up. "That's it for today's shoot. Good work, everyone." With that, he strode away on his long legs.
It was so late now that she couldn't make it to the Foster Villa. At least his afternoon here wasn't wasted. He was really hungry.
Charlotte directly blocked his path, still wearing a gentle smile on her face. After all, with so many people here, she couldn't lose her temper. She said calmly, "Mr. Wilson, you think you can just leave like this?"
"What else?" Alexander looked at her seriously.
Their eyes met, with different emotions - one angry enough to kill, the other secretly pleased and a bit happy.
Charlotte beckoned to Melissa to bring out her schedule. The crew held their breath watching this scene. Only Charlotte would dare to look at Alexander like this, but what was she going to do?
Melissa handed her today's schedule and quickly stepped back. She didn't want to experience Alexander's cold gaze a second time - it was too scary.
Charlotte held up her work schedule and smiled slightly. "Mr. Wilson, don't you think you should pay for wasting three hours of my time? These three hours prevented me from recording my new song. Without the song recorded, my studio staff can't do the post-production. You've disrupted the progress of my new album with your unreasonable behavior. I think you need to compensate me for my losses."
Everyone gasped. She actually dared to ask Alexander for compensation - impressive!
Alexander's sharp eyes stared at her intently, then he suddenly laughed. "Ms. Harris, are you sure those three hours were for recording a new song?"
He hadn't forgotten that he told her to meet the Foster family parents tonight.
"Of course, what else would it be?" she asked back.
"You know very well."
"My appearance fee is very expensive. Please transfer two hundred thousand dollars in compensation to my agency's account, Mr. Wilson. Excuse me." Charlotte finished speaking and turned to leave.
Alexander also strode away, leaving behind a group of somewhat stunned crew members.
"Charlotte, Mr. Foster has called you so many times. What should we do?" Melissa only dared to tell her now, because artists can't answer phones during filming, so she had been explaining all along.
Charlotte felt terrible. She left the Wilson Group with Melissa without even changing out of her period costume. It was already 9:30 PM. Damn it!
"Mr. Foster, I'm so sorry. Today I..." Charlotte finally found James's car in a small corner and lowered her head apologetically, not knowing how to explain.
James laughed. "It's okay. Your assistant already told me. Are you done filming now?"
Charlotte nodded. "Yes, I'm done. I was afraid you'd been waiting too long, so I didn't even change out of my costume. I'm really sorry."
"It's fine. It's not too late to go now."
"Really? That's a relief. Otherwise, I would feel terrible for missing it. Wait for me, I'll go change and come right back." Good thing she hadn't delayed his plans. He had helped her several times today, so if she couldn't help him, she'd feel really bad.
"Just wear this. My mom loves watching period dramas. She'll love seeing such a beautiful woman in person." James joked with a smile.
He had seen the promotional photos from her new drama. He heard the Wilson Group had high hopes for this production, and all the actors were very good-looking. Now, in her red costume with flowing long hair, she had a unique charm. She was truly beautiful.
Charlotte went back to the Wilson Group, quickly took a shower, got dressed up, and came out after 10 PM. She put the gifts Melissa had bought into the trunk, and the two of them got into the same car and left the Wilson Group.
