Chapter 86
Scarlett heard Vivian still being so obedient and couldn't help but remind her, "Vivian, I know it might seem like I'm butting in too much, but the better the things you want, the more patience you need. You get what I'm saying?"
"Yeah, I get it. You're just looking out for me. I'll handle this right and won't mess up again," Vivian replied humbly.
Scarlett nodded in satisfaction. "Good. Once this thing with Tiffany is sorted, I'll talk to your parents about moving up your wedding with Henry. Make sure nothing goes wrong in the meantime. You've waited six years, so you need to stay calm now. Remember, impatience often makes things worse."
"Okay. Thanks," Vivian felt relieved hearing that the engagement was still on, and her anxiety melted away.
That evening, Julia went to the preschool early to wait for the three little ones.
When she arrived, Henry was already there.
They exchanged glances, and the atmosphere was a bit awkward.
"You're here early?" Julia asked.
She remembered Henry mentioning yesterday that the Hearst Group was quite busy.
"Wrapped things up," he responded coolly, his eyes deep, as if hiding many thoughts.
"If I knew you were coming, I wouldn't have come so early," Julia smiled at him, and Henry returned the smile.
They waited at the entrance, picked up the three little ones, and headed home together.
Julia thought Henry would stay for dinner.
But Henry just dropped them off and left.
Julia, as usual, took care of the three little ones, played with them downstairs for a while, and then put Joseph and Stephen to bed.
She turned to comfort Tiffany, busy to the point of having no time for herself.
Hannah was there, helping to lighten Julia's load.
Hannah had already bathed Tiffany.
Tiffany, wearing pajamas with big bunny ears, was sitting on the bed hugging a stuffed animal.
Seeing Julia come in, Tiffany gave a sweet smile, then put the toy aside, lay down, and waited for Julia to come and sleep with her.
Julia understood her intention and lay down beside her.
Tiffany was excited, waiting for Julia to cuddle her.
Julia put her arm under Tiffany's neck, and Tiffany rolled into her embrace, her bright eyes looking at Julia.
Julia had always adored Tiffany.
At this moment, she loved Tiffany even more.
She couldn't help but kiss Tiffany's forehead, "Sweetie, I'll help you sleep."
Tiffany nodded vigorously and obediently closed her eyes.
Julia, feeling content, held Tiffany and closed her eyes too.
The two of them, one big and one small, fell asleep unknowingly.
The next morning, Julia woke up a bit late, but fortunately, Hannah had already prepared breakfast for the three little ones.
Henry didn't come, so Julia took the three little ones to preschool by herself.
The teacher greeted the children at the entrance as usual.
Seeing Julia alone today, the teacher smiled and greeted her, "Good morning, Ms. Kennedy."
"Good morning."
Tiffany, being small, only poked her head out from behind Julia after Joseph and Stephen had come out.
The teacher looked around in surprise, not seeing Henry.
The teacher asked, "Tiffany came with you?"
Tiffany nodded vigorously, looking proud, as if staying at Julia's house was cooler than getting a perfect score at school.
She took out a small notebook and wrote that she had been staying at Julia's house lately.
Seeing her writing, the teacher couldn't help but smile and affectionately patted Tiffany's head, "Wow, Tiffany is so amazing, staying with Joseph and Stephen every day. I'm so jealous."
Hearing this, Tiffany raised her head higher, her eyes curved in a smile, looking even cuter.
The teacher led the three little ones into the preschool.
Julia then left.
These days, all her energy was focused on Tiffany, causing her to fall behind on her lab work.
And Walter...
According to the treatment schedule, she should start the next session now.
After finishing her lab work, Julia called William to arrange a time.
When she arrived, William was waiting at the entrance to greet her.
Hearing the car, Julia got out, and he greeted her with a polite smile, "Dr. Kennedy, I didn't call you these days, thinking you might be busy."
Julia smiled apologetically, "I've had a lot going on lately. How's Mr. Walter Carter's health?"
William didn't blame her, just made small talk.
"Grandpa's doing great, much stronger than before. He often says he feels ten years younger. It's all thanks to your excellent medical skills, Dr. Kennedy."
"You're too kind."
Julia felt relieved hearing Walter was doing well.
Stabilizing Walter meant the lab's supplies wouldn't be interrupted.
She was saving lives, but it also related to the lab.
They went upstairs.
William had informed Walter half an hour earlier that Julia would be coming.
When Julia opened the bedroom door, Walter was sitting at the bedside waiting for her.
He looked energetic and greeted Julia, "Dr. Kennedy, you're here."
"Yes," Julia smiled and put the medical kit aside.
Seeing her injured hand, Walter asked with concern, "How did you hurt your hand?"
"I was cooking at home; it's nothing." She didn't explain further, placing the medical kit flat and joking, "Don't worry, it won't affect your treatment."
Walter chuckled.
Julia began the treatment, which took less than half an hour.
Walter's treatment was simpler now.
Julia just needed to apply acupuncture to a few points, which didn't take long.
William noticed the time and offered to help Julia pack her medical kit.
Julia knew he was probably worried about her injured hand and didn't stop him.
After packing, Julia said goodbye to Walter and went downstairs.
As she was about to leave, William called out to her.
Julia turned and saw William approaching, holding a small tube of ointment, which he handed to her.
William said with concern, "Dr. Kennedy, you might want to try our burn ointment. It's very effective and one of the Carter Family's bestsellers. As a doctor, you can't be careless with hand injuries."
