Chapter 111 — Kade
Madison didn’t seem to understand how much I loved her. How I would do anything to be with her.
I wasn’t going to let her slip out of my hands again.
Her eyes were moist.
The servers in the kitchen were talking to each other in the background.
Our server stopped by.
“Can I get you two anything?” she asked.
“No,” I said, glancing at the young girl. “Thank you.”
I turned back to Madison.
She took a deep ragged breath.
“I found a way to commute from Houston.”
“Wait…” I stared at her. “Commute?”
A slow smile spread across her lips.
“Turns out some of the universities courses are being taught hybrid. Partly online and party face-to-face. So I can be there three days a week and in Houston for four-day weekends.”
Then we both broke out laughing.
I pulled her into a hug.
She smelled like honeysuckle and sunshine.
“I never doubted that we’d find a way to stay together,” I said. “All we needed was half a chance.”
She nodded. “Me too. So what are we going to do?”
I pulled back and looked into her eyes.
“The way I see it, this is the best possible problem to have.”
“We’ll figure it out won’t we?” she asked.
I pulled her close again.
“I’m not letting you go this time.”
“I’m not letting you go either, Kade Samuel Johnson,” she said.
Our paths had once again intersected and this time we wouldn’t stray.
Madison Worthington was my true north.
