Chapter 107 Eugene Gets Beaten by Christopher
Amelia felt very calm inside. She asked coldly and distantly, "What's the matter?"
Eugene grinned, the greed in his eyes fully exposed, and said, "Don't play dumb. I made it very clear in the restaurant earlier. If you don't give me the money, I'll expose you on TV! I'll sue you in court! I'll let everyone know that you don't support your father!"
Amelia sneered. Ten million dollars wasn't a large sum for her.
But seeing his shameless attitude, she would rather donate the money than give him a single cent. It truly shattered all her years of familial fantasies about her father.
"I'll only give money to my mom. As for you, you never supported me, and you took away my grandfather's inheritance after he died. Why should I give you money?" Amelia retirted.
Eugene sneered, "Not going to give it, huh?"
Amelia straightened her back and said, "I don't want to repeat myself. Leave now."
Seeing her firm attitude, Eugene immediately raised his voice and shouted to the store clerks, "Come and see Amelia! Her own father is desperate and begging her and she just stands by and does nothing!"
There were a few customers in the store and the clerks were attentively serving them. Eugene's shouting made the customers' faces turn unpleasant.
Amelia picked up her phone to call Emory to come and take Eugene away.
Before she could dial, Eugene snatched the phone and smashed it to the ground. As Amelia bent down to pick up the phone, Eugene stepped on her fingers.
A sharp pain shot through her, making Amelia's face change color.
The store clerks were about to come over to help.
Just then, Christopher pushed open the glass door and walked in, witnessing the scene.
He strode over and kicked Eugene, causing him to fall to the ground.
Two months ago, he had been beaten by Ryan, which resulted in fractured bones. He had just recovered and now they were broken again, which made him clutch his injured area and scream in pain.
He didn't forget to curse, "You bastard dare to hit me? You owe me at least ten million dollars! Otherwise, I won't let you off!"
In this city, there weren't many people who dared to curse at Christopher, let alone extort him.
Christopher's eyes turned cold. He grabbed Eugene's arm and dragged him out the door. In the blink of an eye, Eugene was outside.
Amelia didn't want to hurt him, just to teach him a lesson so he wouldn't bother her again. But she still felt uneasy and followed them outside.
Eugene was dragged to a less crowded area. Christopher's eyes were cold as ice, with only one thought in his mind, ' this old man had just stepped on Amelia's hand, so his hand couldn't be spared.'
Eugene couldn't stand up from the dragging. He could only crawl on the ground, looking at the straight figure of Christopher in black casual clothes. He thought that he was just a regular customer. He cursed again, "Are you crazy? How is it your business if I discipline my daughter?"
Hearing the word "daughter," Christopher paused his raised fist and coldly stared at Eugene, "Amelia is your daughter?"
Eugene lifted his chin and replied defiantly, "Yes, who are you to her?"
Christopher didn't respond. He looked at Amelia, who had followed them, and asked, "Is he really your father?"
Amelia nodded and replied, "I saw him once when I was a child. He took my grandfather's inheritance. Now that he's out of money, he shows up more often."
Christopher released his fist and asked Amelia, "How do you want to deal with him?"
Amelia looked at Eugene and said calmly, "Mr. Bailey, you never invested any feelings in me. Now you want me to give you money? Is that possible?"
Seeing she wouldn't give him money, Eugene threatened, "Just wait. I'll ruin you sooner or later."
Amelia smiled faintly, unafraid of the threat, "I advise you to be rational. Even if you go all out, you won't be my match."
Thinking of how Emily wouldn't give him money either, Eugene cursed angrily, "You're as cold-blooded and heartless as your mother, both of you standing by and doing nothing!"
Amelia laughed, "When I was a child, you took all the money from my grandfather's paintings. When my grandmother needed money for a kidney transplant, we struggled to raise money for her treatment. Where were you then? Who was heartless? Who stood by and did nothing?"
Eugene knew he was in the wrong and fell silent, but he was unwilling to leave without getting any money.
"Mrs. Martin! Are you okay?" The driver, Emory, ran over, panting.
He had been away for a short while and returned to see Amelia, Eugene, and Christopher standing on the roadside and facing off. To him, both Eugene and Christopher were dangerous individuals.
Amelia shook her head at him and said, "I'm fine."
Emory finally calmed down his worried emotions. He then secretly sent a message to Ryan, informing him of today's events.
Seeing Amelia's helpers increasing, Eugene knew he wouldn't get any money today and might even get beaten up for nothing.
Not wanting to be at a disadvantage, he picked up his phone and made a call, "Tomas, come to the antique market and pick me up! I've been beaten and can't walk."
Christopher glanced coldly at him and then looked at Amelia, "Let's go back to the store."
Amelia responded and walked with him towards the store. Halfway there, she asked, "Mr. Martin, did you come to the store for business today?"
Christopher replied calmly, "Yes, I had Mr. Greer repair a carved glass vase. I'm here to pick it up."
Amelia smiled, "Thank you for today."
Christopher replied, "I can't stand men who hit women. It was a small matter, no need to dwell on it."
Amelia was about to say she would send him a new creation as a thank-you gift, but hearing his words, she swallowed her words.
At the same time, Ryan called Amelia.
Seeing the caller ID, Amelia instructed the clerks, "Take good care of Mr. Martin. I need to take a call."
"Sure, Ms. Smith, don't worry." The clerk agreed and went to serve Christopher.
Amelia took her phone to a quiet place and answered. On the other end, Ryan's suppressed emotions came through, "I heard Eugene was causing you trouble. Are you hurt?"
Amelia guessed it was the driver Emory who told him and answered honestly, "No."
Ryan was skeptical, "Really?"
Amelia looked at her right hand, which had been stepped on by Eugene. The skin injury was minor and didn't hurt much anymore. Not wanting him to worry, she spoke more firmly, "Really."
Ryan was silent for a moment, "What did he want?"
Amelia said, "He wanted money. I refused, so he caused a scene in the store."
Ryan's voice turned cold, "And then?"
She replied, "Christopher came to our store to have Mr. Greer fix a vase. He happened to see it and took him outside."
Amelia was afraid of misunderstanding and quickly added, "Don't overthink it. We spoke politely, just a few words, really."
After saying that, she felt her explanation was too deliberate, which might cause more misunderstanding.
She felt at a loss for a moment.
After a long silence, Ryan's deep voice came through the phone, "Amelia, I love you."
