Chapter 138
Celeste's eyes darted around before she finally leaned in and whispered to Alexandra.
"Relax, we've got all the time in the world!"
Meanwhile, Frederick had already made his way into the Windsor family home and was on the phone with Hayden.
Hayden Windsor, the third son of the Windsor family.
"Hey Hayden, where do you keep the new clothes you haven't worn yet?"
"What?" Hayden, who had just woken up and was brushing his teeth, was baffled by the sudden call. "I don't have any unworn clothes lying around."
"Hold on a sec, Frederick, where are you right now?"
"At your place," Frederick replied matter-of-factly.
Hayden nearly dropped his toothbrush. "Do you know what time it is? It's barely past six in the morning! What are you doing at my house?"
"Where are the new clothes you haven't worn?" Frederick repeated, lowering his voice a bit.
Hayden was completely confused. "Why do you need them? Are you planning to wear my clothes?"
"Yeah."
"Seriously? When did you get so broke that you don't have clothes to wear?"
Hayden laughed openly. "Did your family go bankrupt or something?"
"Why do you talk so much?"
Frederick was clearly getting impatient, and Hayden quickly stopped laughing. "On the third floor, in my closet, the innermost cabinet. It's full of sample clothes from luxury brands that I haven't worn."
"Got it."
Frederick hung up immediately after getting the answer, leaving Hayden even more curious as he listened to the dial tone.
Back at the Windsor family home.
Frederick changed into the clothes and headed downstairs, where he found Alexandra sitting in the living room, frowning and staring intently at her phone screen.
Frederick quickly approached and sat down next to her. "I've changed. Look, Alexandra."
"Okay." Alexandra turned off her phone screen just as Frederick sat down beside her.
"Are you still mad?"
Frederick could sense something was off with Alexandra's mood, and it made him nervous.
"No," Alexandra replied honestly, but her furrowed brows still indicated she wasn't in a good mood.
"You're lying. You are mad."
Frederick had been diligently studying relationship advice lately, and the posts he read said that when a woman says she's not mad, she usually is.
Alexandra finally looked up at him. "Whose clothes are you wearing?"
The embroidered shirt he was wearing didn't match Frederick's usual style at all. It was too flashy.
"Oh, this." Frederick tugged at the shirt's hem. He had followed Hayden's instructions to find clothes in his room, only to discover that the brands had sent Hayden flamboyant, colorful clothes that didn't suit Frederick's taste. The shirt he was wearing was the least colorful one he could find.
"This is your brother Hayden's shirt. But he hasn't worn it."
Frederick answered truthfully. "Does it look bad? I can ask Nathan to bring me my clothes."
"Forget it, don't bother." Alexandra quickly stopped him. "It's just different from your usual style. I was just curious."
As they were talking, Andrew and Susan finally came downstairs.
They were both taken aback to see Frederick, especially since he looked like a walking red rose.
"Frederick, what brings you here so early?" Susan asked with a smile, hurrying down the stairs, with Andrew following behind. "Yeah, Frederick, you're here way too early!"
He then turned to the servants. "Is breakfast ready?"
The servants, aware that an important guest was coming for breakfast, had everything prepared and were just waiting for the signal.
"Everything is ready. We can move to the dining room anytime," Gemma replied respectfully, supporting Susan.
Frederick stood up as they came down. "I just couldn't sleep after waking up, so I came over early."
He said it casually, but his real reason was to see Alexandra as soon as possible.
"Alright, since you're here, let's all go to the dining room for breakfast," Andrew suggested, and everyone headed to the dining room together.
Frederick and Alexandra sat next to each other, while Celeste was seated across from them.
Since entering the dining room, Celeste had been giving Frederick and Alexandra strange looks, seemingly worried that Alexandra might tell Andrew and Susan about what had happened earlier.
But Alexandra was preoccupied with thoughts about the gang, so she didn't have the energy to deal with them.
Seeing that Alexandra had no intention of complaining, Celeste finally relaxed.
Today's breakfast was lavish, with a long table filled with various dishes, twice the usual amount for the family.
It was all prepared for Frederick, but he didn't seem to have much of an appetite. Instead, he kept offering food to Alexandra.
"Try this pastry," Frederick said, looking at Alexandra with all his attention focused on her.
He placed a delicate osmanthus cake on her plate, but Alexandra didn't respond.
Frederick then added a piece of milk cake. "Or try this one. It's also good."
Soon, Alexandra's plate was piled high with food, including oatmeal, milk, and various breads, all brought over by Frederick. But she hadn't touched any of it.
"Why aren't you eating? Are you not hungry?"
Frederick was getting anxious, and Alexandra finally snapped out of her thoughts, noticing the mountain of food in front of her. She couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed.
"Can you eat it yourself? I don't need you to serve me!"
Her tone and attitude were a bit harsh, making her sound quite stern.
Frederick's hand, which was reaching for more food, paused. The atmosphere in the room became awkward, with everyone exchanging glances but no one daring to speak.
"Are you still upset?"
Frederick withdrew his hand. "I really didn't mean it earlier!"
"I promise I'll stay far away from every other woman from now on. No one but you will come within a meter of me! I swear!"
Frederick's sudden, almost desperate vow left Andrew and Susan looking at him in utter confusion.
