Distant Chaos
Chapter 36.
Lucien jumped up with a start and immediately heard the voice of someone crying from afar. This wasn't what it's supposed to sound like and most importantly there were other things that he had not considered yet besides the fact that he had been looking in the room according to his friend.
"You have to devise a way of making sure that there is something else to be placed higher than everyone else. If we are going to beat these people at their games we need everyone on Deck. Especially the people who consider themselves not that important." Talia came closer to him immediately she realized that he was battling something deeper.
He wasn't in the mood to have discussions with her but most importantly he figured out that the best way to handle things like this was to pretend like he didn't even care.
Also there remaining other things that he should deal with have just flown past his head like a blur.
"You are going to shut down that ball that you are about to waste resources on and make sure that people lose their lives over. I am not taking any chances when it comes to people's lives and you know that." Lucien ended that conversation knowing that there was no need for him to pursue anything else.
She was more concerned about her fur quotes and dresses for the season instead of worrying about people's safety.
Secondly she believed that the world automatically revolved around her which wasn't true in any way. The only thing that was left for him to deal with was making sure that she never forgot her place in the beginning. Also that she never forgot that it was going to take longer than necessary for her to have sufficient control over everyone.
"Maybe I'm a little bit delusional but there is nothing that gives me the ick more than the fact that somebody has decided to against my better wish go again to what I have stipulated and then expect me to be happy with it. The only thing I can be happy about is how I make sure that nobody takes my position. I would fight tooth and nail to regain my control over situations." She hissed.
"This is definitely not what is regarded as important to me, there is insecurity everywhere and if you think for one second that I'm going to allow you destroy the semblance of peace that I have built over the last few months, then maybe you do not have the slightest idea of what our partnership means. We cannot allow ourselves to show weakness. It is unacceptable!" She exclaimed.
Tired of just being a door mat and looking for better ways of asserting her dominance without losing her mind she figured out that the best way to do that was to make sure that there was no delay in the ball preparation.
"We are not pushing this back because the moment we do we accept that these threats have a hold over us and you and I know that we do not need that. We can be better than what people imagine us to be and never allow them to run into hiding!" She kept exclaiming.
She was pushing her luck because she knew the kind of person Lucien was but because he had been trained better than to deal with women roughly that was the only edge she had over him regarding this conversation.
"You do not have the slightest idea of what it takes to run a successful pack so I would excuse your ignorance. But the next time you speak to me in such a manner , best believe that your head will be rolling down the floor without anybody helping you out." He threatened her.
For someone like him he didn't need to do much before his threats counted because everyone knew how problematic he could be when things did not go his way. Yet he decided to push his lock by making sure that nobody came in between what he had already prepared and what he was ready to dish out if things did not go accordingly.
"Miss me with the agenda of trying to be the bad guy. I know my rights as Luna. I have been with you through thick and thin and when you chose me as your Luna you knew that I was capable of that position." She fired back angrily.
"I know that it takes a lot for people to get to the zenith of power and remember the people who have once brought them up because of their ego and pride but this is borderline worrying and I cannot help but think of better ways to handle this.
"You need me and at the same time I need you so please do not try to act all high and mighty because that's not going to work on me. I have many things to be thankful for and unless that is settled, I don't think we should worry about anything." She spat.
Lucien grabbed her hand dragging her softly away from the bed, he was on his way to kicking her in the shin but decided not to go for that because then it would relegate all of his sacrifices to making sure that everyone was fine around here to the drain.
"I have never hit a woman in my entire life but if you make me get to a point where I do not care anymore, you would regret ever coming in contact with me and that's exactly what I'm going to do." He flung her arms away.
Talia shivered in shock, trying to figure out what to do next when everything was moving in reverse.
Something told her that she was well on her way to losing Lucien's affections with her inordinate desire for having parties.
"You should have just rejected me in the first place!" She screamed against better judgment. She would rather stay in a hole than become a shell of herself because of that dimwit.
