The assistant thought for a moment and responded:
“Maybe Ama has some facial flaw she can’t show others. If you push too hard, she might run away with the money, and then let’s see how you cry."
The assistant’s words scared Kevin enough to stop his curiosity. When he saw her stifle a laugh, he knew she was teasing him and grabbed her in a playful scold:

With that, he began tickling her, and soon, her loud cries echoed through the office, much to the exasperation of the staff outside.

When Selena arrived at the parking lot, she saw that Balthazar’s car was still there. Had he been waiting for her the whole time?
“What are you standing there for? Get in the car."
Obediently, Selena got into the passenger seat. She was surprised; didn’t he forbid her from sitting there before?
With this confusion in mind, Balthazar drove away from the Kola Entertainment office. Just as they left, a group of onlookers stared after them, and one person asked:
“Who is that girl with the mask and sunglasses, using the CEO’s exit and driving a G63?"
Karen lowered her gaze. She was Kola’s most valuable streamer. Even though the platform was an empty shell, she had chosen to stay because it was the only place where she reigned supreme. But before she could enjoy her success, Amarillis appeared and took everything from her. Not only had Amarillis taken over Kola, but she was now one of the top streamers. How could Karen possibly accept that?
Harboring deep resentment, Karen had long wanted to bring Amarillis down. But Amarillis always kept her face hidden during broadcasts and didn’t use social media, leaving her personal life a mystery. Karen had no choice but to bottle up her anger and wait for an opportunity.
Now, that opportunity had arrived. She turned to the person next to her and said:
“You recorded that, didn’t you? Send it to me."
Meanwhile, Balthazar drove Selena to a shopping center, heading straight for the high-end stores. As she looked around in confusion, he said:
“Pick whatever you like."
Before Selena could say anything, a sales associate, sensing a big sale, hurried over and said:
“It’s rare to see a boyfriend shopping with his girlfriend. We have some beautiful designs here, miss…"
Even though Selena was still wearing a mask and sunglasses, the sales associate quickly adjusted her smile. No matter how strange the customers might seem, in her eyes, they were always goddesses.
But Balthazar wasn’t as patient. He grabbed Selena’s hand and asked:
“Why don’t you take off your mask?"
Selena leaned close to his ear and whispered:
“What if people recognize me with you?"
She meant that he didn’t want anyone to know he was keeping a sugar baby, but to him, it sounded like she didn’t want anyone to know she was with him. This infuriated him, and he tore off her mask and sunglasses, tossing them into the nearby trash can.
“Who cares? From now on, you’ll always be by my side. You better dress up and look pretty."
“Alright."
The sales associate’s eyes lit up as she watched the attractive couple interact and eagerly used all her experience and fashion sense to help Selena pick out clothes.
Selena didn’t hold back. Since the man was in a rare mood, she took full advantage of the situation to indulge.
After a while of picking whatever she liked, just before paying, Selena noticed a beautiful brooch and reached out to touch it.

“Take your hand off! I saw it first."
Suddenly, the back of her hand was slapped hard. Selena recoiled, and Balthazar rushed over to check her hand.
Her skin was pale, making the red mark all the more prominent. Seeing this, Balthazar’s anger boiled over, and he shouted:
“What’s the matter with you? Why did you hit her?"
Balthazar’s imposing figure, combined with his aggressive attitude, frightened the middle-aged woman for a moment. But she quickly composed herself, smoothing her hair and standing tall to project an air of nobility before replying:
“How could I let her filthy hands touch something I liked? Slapping her hand was being merciful. You’d better leave now, or you’ll face consequences you can’t handle."
Looking at the arrogant woman in front of her, Selena’s heart turned cold. This was Laura Hawthorne, her ex-mother-in-law. She never expected to run into her here.
Selena smirked and said:
“That brooch is youthful, suited for girls in their prime. Buying it won’t make you any younger."
Lately, Laura had been worried that her husband was growing distant and might be seeing someone else. She had been trying to make herself look younger, and the moment she saw the brooch’s youthful design, she had to have it. Now, being called out like this made her furious, and she shouted:
“You insolent brat! I’ll slap the face right off you!"
She lunged at Selena, but Balthazar blocked her and shoved her to the floor. The sales associate hurried to call the manager, and at that moment, a young woman rushed out from the crowd to help Laura up.
“Mother! What happened? How dare they push you? I’m going to report…"
Before she could finish her sentence, Amelia’s eyes widened, and Balthazar stood frozen in shock. Only Selena smiled smugly.
At last, her moment had arrived.
Amelia was stunned speechless, watching Balthazar embrace another woman. She had consoled herself after seeing that intimate photo last time, convincing herself that it was just a call girl he hired. Men—they always desire something new. She had tried to endure, thinking that after all, she was the one he truly loved.
But now, seeing him protect this other woman, his concern was evident, and her heart filled with rage. Her eyes reddened as tears welled up.
Balthazar was equally shocked when he saw Amelia. He quickly let go of Selena, causing her to stumble. At this moment, Laura shouted loudly:
"Call the police and have these two thugs arrested! I’m going to sue them until they’re ruined!"
