Chapter 248 Family Plans
I can hear Josie gasp in delight. "Oh! God! I gotta tell Liv!" she giggles like a little girl. "She's been miserable lately, and she'd love some time away from home... and that bastard she calls a boyfriend!" she starts rambling.
"I think you are now her official hero," Rick chuckles. "So, I'm assuming a broke college student doesn't have the cash for the trip. I've got you covered. I'll even pay for the hotel and the chapel. You just need to get yourselves there, and we'll meet up with you. Sound good?" Rick chuckles.
"Dude! I owe you! As soon as I get the money, I swear I'll rep-"
"Nope! Consider it a wedding gift. Plus, you just saved my little dancer from hating herself for the rest of the week. I owe you for that. So, get packed up, and it might be a good idea to let you professors know?" he suggests.
"I'm on in! Thanks so much!" Trent sighs in relief. He pulls me into his side and places a soft kiss on the top of my head. "See you in a few hours?"
"You bet! We're looking forward to seeing you," Rick said before hanging up.
For the next two hours, we pack our bags and call our professors telling them we'll be gone for a whole week due to a family emergency... They don't need to know I'm the emergency.
It doesn't take us long at all to get to the airport, and soon we're boarding our flight. I'm shocked Rick went all out and got us first class! It's not even that long of a flight... I'm gonna have to do something for him to show him how much I appreciate all he's done for us.
"You ready for this, Angel? You know when we get there, your family is going to bombard us with questions. I'm off the hook because I haven't told Mom everything yet. She'll hound me later, but she'll be so happy," he smirks, grabbing my hand.
"What will she think if I am pregnant?" I whisper, still worried about what she'll think of me. My hand automatically goes to my belly, and I wonder what will happen. I don't even know if I'm pregnant or not. Trent doesn't seem to be too bothered by the fact he might be a young father.
"Are you fucking kidding me? She'll be ecstatic! She'll love the baby more than me! And I'm more than willing to be replaced by our little one in her affection," Trent jokes. "In all honesty, she will love you and the baby. You have nothing to worry about. Besides, it was going to happen eventually. Now she's just gonna spoil the hell outta you!"
I chuckle, relaxing a little more, leaning into him, watching out the round windows. It's surprisingly a nice day. I'm going to take that as a good sign.
I don't even want to ask him want is father thinks of me. I know he's somehow involved in all of this, and he was more than willing to feed me to the sharks if it made his life easier.
"Hey! Look at me!" Trent takes my face gently in his hands. He must've noticed the change in my mood. "He is getting exactly what he deserves! I don't want you feeling anything for him but disgust. He did this to himself, and I don't know if I will ever forgive him for this. I know Mom is pissed as hell, and she has every right to be. He's lied to her for years. I'm pretty sure she's going to divorce him, and I can't blame her for that. If I could divorce my own father, I would," he finishes with a soft kiss on my lips.
"Thanks Trent. I don't know what I'd do without you," I whisper honestly.
"Good thing you'll never have to find out. We're in this together forever," he promises, placing a soft kiss at my temple.
I sigh and lean into his shoulder. He's right. We're in this together forever.
