Chapter 206 Introductions
"Hi, Josie. I remember you from school. You were the dancer," Trent smiles shaking my sister's hand. "Pregnancy looks good on you," he says happily.
Rick comes over and wraps a protective arm around Josie but extends his hand out to the younger man for a shake. "Good to meet you in person. Welcome to our home. You and I will need to find some time to talk," he says.
Trent just nods his head like he knows exactly what he's needs to talk about. I'm a little confused. What does Rick need to talk to Trent about? Trent didn't mention anything... Did they talk after I passed out the other day?
Everyone seemed to be really happy about Trent, even the security team seemed to find him pleasant and come and introduce themselves to him. Well, everyone but Braxton, that is.
Actually, Braxton looks even more hostile than normal. What the hell is his issue? You'd think this was his house! It's not! No one here even likes him. He's just a damn bully.
"What the fuck do you think you are doing here, Miller?" Braxton growls, stepping forward and pushing my sister behind him.
"I could ask you the same thing, Davis. Why the fuck are you skulking around the Kingston's house?" Trent snarls, also stepping up to him.
"I take it you two know each other?" Rick asks, not intervening, just looking between the two boys.
"You could say that," Trent growls, looking his opponent up and down before turning to Liv. "Olivia, I don't know why you are with him. You deserve someone better than him," Trent insists.
Liv actually blushes at that. But she doesn't say anything because Braxton is suddenly growling at her like she did something wrong.
"Don't listen to the bastard! He has no idea what he's talking about!" Brax growls.
"You mean, I didn't know about all those times I caught you with other girls and you were 'supposedly dating Olivia?' Or the time you spread lies saying you were only with Liv because she was easy and would spread her legs for anyone?" Trent growls.
Poor Olivia looks like she's about to cry. She's looking between Trent and Braxton like she doesn't know who to believe. I'd heard the rumors too, but I'd never told her... I probably should've. I just thought she knew what she was getting into.
Just then Braxton punched Trent in the gut, but Trent isn't a small guy and tackled him to the ground. He had him under him in 3 seconds, sending consecutive punches to his gut, until Braxton was literally breathless and spitting up blood.
When Braxton whimpered and curled up into a ball, Trent finally got off the boy. "Try it again, and I won't stop!" Trent grunts coming to stand beside me.
And still, none of the adults did a damn thing. They just watched it happen. In fact, Rick seems pretty happy about what just happened. I know he wouldn't attack someone younger than him, but Braxton is only about a year and a half younger than Trent. And he has been a pain in everyone's ass since Liv started dating him.
Eventually, Braxton gets to his feet, grabs my sister by the arm and pulls her toward his car.
"Fine, if we're not welcome here, we'll go back to my place," he sneers, shoving her into the front seat.
Jos looks like she's going to chase after her, but Rick is quick and wraps a protective arm around her. "Careful, little dancer. He needs to cool down, and if he hurts Liv, he'll be punished," he soothes.
"I hate that kid," my sister grumbles.
"Yeah, I know, Josie. But think of the baby," he tries to calm her down. Then he looks over at Trent and winks. "Nice tackle by the way. I haven't been able to pull something off like that in years."
"Thanks," Trent beams in pride.
"I've got cake!" Jeff announces, sending me a wink. "Made it special for Charlie! We'll make sure to give a large slice to Trent too for getting rid of the garbage!"
I couldn't help how Trent sent him a glare, but Jeff just chuckled and nodded his head toward the house.
And that ended our time outside as everyone made their way into the house for some of Jeff's famous chocolate cake.
Trent holds me back as everyone passes us to get inside. "What is your relationship with Jeff?" he grumbles.
Is he jealous? That is almost cute! But he really doesn't have to be.
I chuckle and shake my head. "He is Rick's chef. He used to work as a bartender, but he needed more money, and so Rick hired him. He's really good at what he does, but he's never been anything other than that," I assure him.
"You sure?" he asks, sounding a little self-conscious.
"Yes. You'll understand when you taste his cake!" I smile, pulling him through the door to follow the crowd so I can stuff my face with chocolate and pretend Braxton didn't try to hurt Trent.
That boy is trouble, and someday he is going to get what is coming to him.
