Chapter 129 Cleansing
At the news, everyone seems to gather around us like magnets. Even Grant and his team even stopped arguing in the office and came out to greet her. "Congratulations, man! I was wondering how long it would take," Sean says with a wink.
They didn't hug her like her sisters, which I appreciate. I'm pretty sure she appreciates it too... Not to mention, they'd have to fight their way to my fiancé through her sisters.
Right now, I think I'd go nuts if any other man touched her. I was only okay with the doctor because it had to be done. He was very professional and careful. And while I appreciate what he does, I kinda wish it had been a female doctor who looked over Josie's body.
Josie is exhausted, and as much as I know she wants to be with her sisters right now, she really needs some rest. My girl has had a long fucking day, and she really needs a little TLC right now.
"Jeff, can you bring up some soup and crackers to her room?" It's the first thing I can think of that can warm her up, and I'm not sure if she's ready to eat anything heavy right now. Right now, I'm worried she'll fall asleep before she has anything in her tiny tummy.
"Sure thing!" He winks and rushes off to the kitchen.
"C'mon, little dancer. Let's get you up to bed. Girls, you'll be able to see Josie in the morning, but you should've been in bed hours ago!" I admonish softly. "You still have school tomorrow you know!"
They look up at me with sleepy-teary eyes, but they nod their heads in acknowledgement. They are just as exhausted as Josie. But I guess they were worried about her and decided to wait up until she was home safe. I understand their concern.
I wrap my arm around my girl and decide just to carry her. Not only will we get up to her room faster this way, but I also need to hold her to ground me. I need her in my arms right now. I almost lost her! I just can't fucking handle it right now.
She squeaks in surprise as I lift her into my arms, but she rests her head on my shoulder. She sighs in my arms and closes her heavy eyes.
"There you go," I coo, nuzzling the top of her head.
I march her right into her room. I want to burn my own room right now, and I didn't exactly clean it after Gina had tainted it. So tonight, I'm staying in here with her.
But first, she needs a fucking shower. She's still freezing. The fastest way I can think to warm her up is through water. It has the added benefit of removing every fucking touch James filthy hands had on her body.
I place my little dancer on the bed, then rush to start her shower, hoping it heats up quickly. I know she's ready for a good sleep, but in order for that to happen, she needs a few things first.
Josie is already cuddled up on the bed by the time I'm back and I can't help but chuckle. She's fucking adorable, and I'd love to just let her sleep. But she really does need a quick shower, and hopefully Jeff will bring up the soup soon too.
"Not yet, my love. We are going to wash you and warm you up, then you are going to eat something, then I promise you can finally get some rest," I whisper.
I help her sit up and remove her clothes from her body. There is no way I'm letting her shower on her own right now, so I toss mine off quickly and pick her back up into my arms.
I set her down gently on the heated floor and let the water and steam heat her body.
She sighs and leans into me. I would love just to hold her like this, but she needs to be washed. Even if this is just the physical side of cleansing her soul, I know this is what she needs.
Carefully, I grab the lavender body wash and rub it into my hands. I meticulously lather every inch of her body, and thankfully, she lets me. She doesn't pull away or flinch at my touch. In fact, she leans into me.
I place soft kisses along her soft skin, and she shivers at the contact. I nuzzle her lower belly, placing a gentle kiss over our growing baby. I'm going to protect you little one.
