Chapter 10 Stranger

Chapter 10 Stranger
I tried to smile up at him. "Yeah," I agreed. Someday we would end up having sex. And maybe someday we'd have a baby of our own? I don't even know if James wants kids! All he talks about is his career, which, well, he's a secretary. That's fine! He makes more than enough money to support us... But he never talks about our future farther than that.

He kissed me again before handing me the wipes for my hand. At least I didn't have to go home with his cum all over my hand. That would not have gone over very well with Beth. And honestly, I didn't want to go home with dried residue on my hands either. I took the offering gratefully.

He dropped me off and I'd marched right past my aunt and her family who had been glaring daggers at me. Not that I gave a damn. They could do whatever the hell they wanted. I was not part of this family, and they all know it. Aunt Beth only keeps us because she was Mom's twin... her evil twin.

I went to the bathroom and showered, trying to scrub off the feelings I'd been having all night long, before I got ready for bed. Then I went to check on my sisters.

"You bitch! It was all your fault!" Liv snarled at me.

"What did I do this time?" I sighed, looking at Charlie.

"Don't listen to Liv. She's just pissy because she didn't get any of the cake Beth ordered," Charlie sighed, before checking over her answers.

I guess the girls didn't get dessert because I left. Well, I don't know what she expected. I wasn't planning on sticking around and severing them when I'd already made the damn meal I wasn't even going to eat. I deserved to have my birthday to myself!

I can't believe that bitch! Not that desert was that terrible of a punishment, but I know Aunt Beth had ordered a chocolate cake for yesterday... NOT for me. It was in memory of my Mom... That doesn't mean she had any intention of sharing any of it with us.

I stare down at the arrangement I'm working on. It has been really busy today. I have no idea why! But I guess people need flower arrangements for all seasons. Flowers do tend to brighten the mood, even in cold October evenings.

A sudden ringing of the bell announced the arrival of a dark stranger. He saunters into the room like he owns it. His eyes scan the shop and then they land on me. I see a spark of recognition as he takes me in head to toe. I swear there is something close to shock in his eyes.

Who the hell is he? I've never seen him before in my life! Only, there was something vaguely familiar about him... Maybe his eyes? I don't remember who this is... Maybe I saw him in a shop in town?

"Can I help you?" Hailey came up and greeted our customer. I'm sure she would be the best to take care of this man because something about him is spiking my blood pressure.

"Actually, I was hoping your assistant could help me out," the man smiled at Hailey, and she giggled like a little girl. "I wouldn't want to impose upon you wisdom for a little problem like mine," he winks.

"Of course dear! You have a good eye," she winks at him. "She won't steer you wrong. I'm sure she will be able to help you with anything you need!" she giggles.
