Chapter Fifteen

The rest of the school day, Ada hadn’t seen or heard from Ewan. This didn’t sit well with her, but she knew there wasn’t anything she could do. She kept her eyes and ears peeled for any mention of Ewan or Kevin, hoping there wasn’t a fight or anything too serious.

When the last bell sounded, Ada walked to detention. An hour of silence, sitting in a room with people she didn’t know. Instead of sitting there doing nothing, like most of the people around her, Ada decided to go ahead and start her homework. Might as well be productive, Ada thought to herself, grabbing her notebook.

Tory raised her hand for the teacher to call on her.

At first, the teacher ignored her, but since Tory kept her hand raised and stared at the teacher for 10 full minutes, the teacher finally called on her. “Yes?”

“Do I really need to be here?” Tory questions with innocence in her voice. “I mean, I would prefer not to have to sit in a room with her.” She continues, pointing toward Ada.

“Oh, shut up Tory.” A random voice came from the back of the room. “We’re tired of hearing it.”

Tory let out a huff.

The boy continues. “You’re just mad because Kevin doesn’t want you and he burned you good last year. So stop taunting the new girl and just shut up.”

She folded her arms as she leaned back in her seat. Her eyes became glazed over as she tried not to start crying.

Ada just smiled to herself and continued with her homework.

When she got home, after an hour of detention, Ada found a note from her mother

“Sorry honey, I got called in for work. I won’t be home until tomorrow evening. There is some money on the counter to order some pizza.

“Love you, XOXO”

Disappointed, Ada left the money where it was. She wasn’t really in the mood for pizza and didn’t particularly care to have some random person deliver it. Instead, she decided to see what food was left in the fridge before continuing her way through the house to make sure it was secure.

Once she made sure that the house was safe, Ada sits down on the couch in the living room and looks at her phone. Maybe Ewan had tried getting in touch with her. Unfortunately, she didn’t have any missed calls or texts from him which made her concern heighten with every minute that passed.

By dinner time, she thought she should try to call him. He didn’t answer. Worry had blanketed her.

Desperate, Ada resorted to calling Hal.

“Hey, have you heard from Ewan?” Ada questioned as soon as Hal answered the phone.

“No, I haven’t seen him since first period.”

“Really?” Ada replied skeptically.

“Ada, I seriously have no idea what he is doing,” Hal responded aggressively.

“Okay… I’ll see you tomorrow then…” Ada replied in disappointment.

“Later.”

After getting off the phone with Hal, Ada thought she should call Kacey. Not that Kacey would know where or what Ewan was up to, but it was a shot in the dark and if not for anything else, Kacey would try to put her mind at ease.

“Ada, he’s probably just doing some things for his grandparents.”

“I guess…” Ada replied while fiddling with her fingers. “I mean, you saw the look on his face… I just hope he didn’t do anything stupid.”

“I highly doubt that he is out terrorizing Kevin,” Kacey replied. “He has better things to do than going after him.”

Once Ada’s mind was at ease, Kacey got off the phone with her to finish her studying.

Ada plopped down on the couch in the living room again and started watching a silly sitcom to keep her mind from thinking about where Ewan could possibly be.

When night fell, Ada was trying to keep herself focused on the show instead of Ewan. Which helped calm her down, but the whole thing was still scratching at the back of her mind.

Knock, knock.

She jumped.

Slowly walking towards the door, her heart started racing. Ada could hear her heart beating in her ears as she crept towards the front door, unsure of whether she should move any closer. Her mouth became dry as she neared the door.

“It’s me, Ada, can I come in?” Ewan’s voice sounded from the other side of the door.

Her heart leaped at the sound of his voice. Opening the door, Ada was in shock by the looks of Ewan. His right eye was bruised and darkening; his lip was busted and bleeding. The shirt he was wearing had a tear with blood splatter. Her heart fell at the state he was in. “What happened?” She questioned with alarm, pulling him inside. He didn’t say anything as she led him to her bedroom, she noticed his knuckles were scraped up and bloody as well. “Stay here.” She ordered as she went to grab the first aid kit from the bathroom.

Closing the door and locking it behind her, she quickly turned her attention to Ewan. Ada was quick to inspect him, grabbing his face gingerly while cleaning his wounds. “What happened?” She questioned again with worry and concern. Did he beat up Kevin? A wave of sadness overcame her at the thought.

“Just a family spat.” He replied without emotion, staring at her in awe and appreciation.

“I don’t know too many families that straight up beat the crap out of each other over a little spat.” Ada returns while cleaning his knuckles with alcohol.

He winces for a moment. “My brother and cousin are just special I guess.” Ewan retorts with sarcasm.

Ada rolls her eyes. “What did they want?” She replied, even though she already knew the answer.

“They want me to come back.” He replied with gloom. “They wanted to talk to me so they could get me to start dealing for them at school again.”

“And they decided to jump you because you said no?”

“Yeah... That’s basically how it went.”

Anger filled Ada from this explanation.

“I’m sorry for intruding. I couldn’t show up at home like this.” He starts getting up. “My grandparents would’ve been upset by this and I didn’t want to worry them.”

Ada gets up with him. “Where are you going?” Concern and uncertainty started to fill within her.

He shrugs, “I figured I may go home sometime soon, sneak in without them knowing.”

She sits on the edge of her bed, sorrow filling within her.

His heart sank from the sight of her. Kneeling to look her in the eye he began, “What’s wrong?” Worry filled his bruised face.

“I don’t know.” She said hesitantly, staring into his beautiful bright brown eyes.

Ewan can see through her. “Tell me what it is.” He replies softly.

Her heart sinks as tears start to form. “I’ve been so worried about you, all day.” She starts slowly, wanting to clutch on to him for comfort, but uncertain she should. “Then you show up here like this and want to leave. I feel like you’re always leaving or gone.” A tear escaped, rolling down her cheek.

“Ada…” He says her name almost in a whisper as he wipes away the tear.

Goosebumps start to form on her skin from hearing her name breathed from his lips. She wanted nothing more than to kiss the lips that said her name. "I just haven’t realized how much I need you until—"

Ewan’s lips were pressed against hers, cutting her off; a kiss that deepened and grew hungrier with each second. He pulls away for a second, looking her in the eyes.

She smiles at him, out of breath.

He smirks at her.

God that smirk is sexy. She thought as her core started to yearn for him.

“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that.” He breathed.

“Why haven’t you done it then?” She breathed.

“I don’t know…” He replied, staring at her curiously.

She smiled at him. “Why’d you stop?” Ada replied, wanting more.

His eyes grew large in surprise before his sexy smirk came back with hunger filled eyes.

Ewan started kissing her again, as Ada slowly lay back on her bed, trying not to break the kiss. Her fingers played in his hair while his hand slowly started to creep up her shirt, before resting on her breast. His kisses trace down until he starts nibbling on her neck while he unhooked her bra to feel her breast without a barrier.

A soft moan escaped Ada while she played with his hair. She could feel his excitement growing. Grabbing Ewan’s face, she pulled him back up to her lips so she could kiss him, tasting him some more; until her hands moved from his hair and down to his shirttail, wanting his shirt to come off.

She starts lifting it, and he breaks away for a moment to rip off the clothing and throw it across the room, hurrying to get back to her lips. Ada noticed a long bruise on his left ribs, she wanted to kiss it, make it feel better, but she knew there wasn’t anything she could do. And his mouth had her dizzying.

His hands were gently caressing her curves as he begins lifting her shirt. The kiss broke again as he takes off her shirt; Ada grabs this head, forcing his mouth back on to hers. He grunts in approval of her determination. Ada could feel him pulsating from excitement as her core melts, calling for him, wanting him, aching for him.

Her hands move to his pants, playing at the top of his jeans to unbutton them.

He stops kissing her, placing his hand on hers, forcing her to stop. Looking at her curiously, he questions her with concern. “Are you sure?”

She nodded.

Ewan stares at her skeptically. “Why?”

“I want to feel you.” She stated breathlessly. “I need to feel you.”

His eyes filled with excitement, as he froze, just staring at her.

“Please Ewan…” Ada continued in almost a whisper. “I want you to touch me.” She grabs his right hand, laying it on her breast while she grabbed the back of his head, pressing his lips hard against hers.

A groan came from his throat as she unbuttoned his pants with him quickly shuffling out of them and then helping Ada out of hers. He stops for a moment to look at her. Her face turns red, becoming self-conscious. While she knows he looked at her at the lake, she still felt a little uncomfortable at first.

Ewan notices her shyness and gives her a peck on the lips. “You are so beautiful.” His breath washed over her face while he tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

She melts at his words, feeling her core quiver.

He pulls her closer, feeling her ass as he nibbles her neck again. Another moan escaped her lips. Ewan holds her closely as they lay back on the bed slowly. “Are you sure you want to do this?” He questions her, watching her carefully, as he held an unopened condom wrapper in his hand while he scanning her closely.

“Yes.” She replied, looking him in the eye.

Ewan rips the wrapper open with his teeth. Once it was on, he slowly enters her heat.

Ada winced at the slight discomfort as he continued to slowly thrust. But Ewan, kept his attention completely on her, watching every move she made, every expression she wore until her grimace faded and replaced by moans. He began kissing her again as their fingers entwined, as his rhythm slowly picked up speed.

Her core started pulsating with every drive. She moaned with desire, digging her nails into his back. His eyes still focusing on her as her moans grow louder, his eyes sparkling with arousal from every sound she made.

Ewan slides his hand on the small of her back, pulling her bottom half up a little as he breaks their kiss and he kneels over her. His lunges became longer and deeper; both letting out moans. She grabs the headboard of her bed, tightening her grip. She tried to suppress some of the noises that escaped her, not wanting to be too vocal.

Noticing her sudden quietness, Ewan says breathlessly. “Let me hear you, baby.”

The moan escapes from her lips and Ewan grunts with pleasure.

Falling over top of Ada, breathless and sweaty, he begins giving her a deep and passionate kiss; their tongues moving in perfect rhythm as they embrace one another. He stops the kiss, giving her a last peck on the lips before resting his forehead on hers while keeping his eyes closed. Taking a moment to catch his breath, he opens his eyes to see Ada’s beautiful hazel eyes staring back at him, with her fingers playing in his wet hair.

Both smile at each other.

Ewan chuckles and says with bated breath. “ Well… I didn’t expect that to happen when I came over.” He kisses her softly again, then rests his head on her chest, and falls asleep in her arms.
