CHAPTER 31: MEETING 2
ALPHA ZAC'S POV
Trent bowed his head the moment he entered the room to greet Brimstone. "I'm sorry, I came late. I was busy sorting out some issues in my pack. You know it's been so long since I last came home, it has been hard in school as I wanted to finish my studies in time and return here to make us all proud." He said but his response only made me roll my eyes. How could his being educated make anyone proud? Who cares about that when everyone is always busy bettering their lives and going to war all the time?
I sat well on my seat and looked away, finally, I realized that I was angry with him and I wasn't that excited seeing him either. It was like he was a part of my past I'd not speak with anymore. "It's okay, but I hope you remember that you will have to be punished for that later, right? I shouldn't get here before you but I did and you can't expect me to let you go scot-free just because you explained to me, don't you think so too?" Brimstone questioned and I heard the low chuckle of Trent which made me turn my head to look at his face again.
"I know, Your Excellency. I will comply with anything you want me to do." He replied and Brimstone nodded his head. He was the only one who would make a joke with a straight face. Brimstone hardly smiled with other Alphas, he was always this cold and aloof person so much so that other Alphas used to secretly address him as the ice king.
Trent already understood him very well so he didn't feel awkward with the fact that he wasn't smiling back at him as any normal Alpha would have done. He bowed one more time and walked over to a seat where he sat down and the meeting commenced.
Two hours into the meeting, we decided to have a break before we revealed the main secret of the meeting. Everyone was curious and couldn't wait for the break to be over except me and probably Brimstone too as he had never been curious about something before in his life, he was always indifferent. I stood up from my seat and whispered into Brimstone's ear "I want to step out for fresh air." Brimstone nodded his head before he returned his attention to what he was doing on his phone.
I looked at him one more time and without saying another word, I walked out of the room, out of the house, and stood in front of the building. I had my hands crossed as I closed my eyes to feel the cool breeze that was hitting my skin when I felt a presence behind me and I frowned. I turned my head to see who it was but I wasn't surprised to see that it was Trent. "What are you doing here? You should be chatting with other Alphas about your school now, shouldn't you?" I questioned but my tone was so rude that I expected him to turn around and leave me there.
But instead, Trent moved forward and stood beside me. "It's been so long. Why ain't you pleased to see me?" He asked and I frowned. I looked at him and looked away "How do you know I'm not pleased? I'm seeing my friend after so long, of course, I'm very pleased and excited but too bad, I don't know how to show them anymore." I said to him and he sucked in a deep breath.
He crossed his arms too and raised his head to look at the sky "How have you been living? How have you lived the past 10 years without me?" He asked and a mocking smile appeared on my face. I knew he would ask such a question so I wasn't surprised at all and if there was anything, it was funny to me and I felt like laughing. "What do you mean? As usual, of course. Have you forgotten that I have Brimstone with me? And whenever he is around, I don't need anyone else, not even you. Have you forgotten the way you used to complain about me putting Brimstone first in everything? So, of course, I've been very fine without you because Brimstone has always been there for me and he never gave me the chance to think about you at all." I spat and took a step forward~
"During the past 10 years, Brimstone and I got closer and we do everything together. He made me discover the new and exciting sides of life that I had never imagined and I couldn't have wished for more. So, I've been very fine since you left." I replied. What was I doing? Ranting so much just because he asked a question, was that what they call being bitter? Heck! I still felt bitter about what he did to me!
He took a step forward too and faced me. "Why are you talking about Lord Brimstone as if you are talking about your lover? Have you forgotten he is your cousin?" He asked and I scoffed. I covered my mouth and laughed "Crazy, What are you thinking in that fishy head?" I asked and looked around before checking my watch. "Anyways, I gotta leave. I don't have time for this." I said and with that, I turned to leave but Trent grabbed my hand and I looked back at him "What are you doing? " I asked and he moved closer to me.
Trent held my hand properly and made me face him "So, Zac, are you saying you did not miss me at all for the past 10 years?" He asked and my eyes twitched. His eyes were so sad that I felt the urge to tell him the truth but I smiled "No... Not even once. I deleted you from my life the moment you left me then." I lied and with that, I pushed him away and teleported.
