Chapter 203
"Warrior Nick, this is my best friend James, and we asked Dad to protect Lena for you. I promise we will keep them safe," he points to her belly.
"I thank you both. I turn to a sobbing Lena, my love, please don't cry. I swear they won't hurt you, and you are completely safe." She nods, but her eyes hold fear.
Tyler's son speaks up and holds out a gift bag.
"Mom and I picked this out." Lena took the bag, trying to smile, but big tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I'm very grateful and very sorry I'm crying." Both boys look at me for guidance as I help her sit. I kneel in front of her and wipe her cheeks.
"I need you to relax, little one. The pup can feel your fear and stress. These two are excellent fighters, and Alpha Tyler only sends the best to protect. Sit here and snack some. Watch a movie, and before you know it, we will be back," she nods as she shudders.
"Okay," she sniffles, and both boys look sad that she keeps crying. I kiss her head and lips before I leave her, my heart heavy. Fuck, I hate leaving her so upset.
Lena's POV
Once he leaves, I open the gift and try to stop my tears, but it doesn't work. I sniffle more, and James hands me a tissue box. "Are you hungry?" he asks softly.
I nod no, but Tyler's son speaks up.
"Mom said you need to eat, and I cook pretty well. Is there anything you're craving?" I look at him, trying not to show fear. He looks so kind and a lot like Tyler.
"I'm too nervous to eat," I say, looking down. "I'm scared," I admit, and he sits near me.
"What can we do to help Lena?, they both say. You name it, and we will do anything. It has to be safe for you both, but I swear on my life we would never hurt you in any way." I'm surprised, but I'm also sure his dad told him about my past.
"Can I know your name?" he chuckles.
"Theo," he offers, and I look at him.
"He changed his name with Alpha Tyler's blessing," James adds, and for the next hour, I'm filled in on his name, change, and why. Theo sits by me and hands me snacks while we watch a movie and talk. I feel safe, but I really want my mates. I'm reaching for a drink when my pup kicks so hard I cry out in pain and fear.
"Lena, what is it?" Both shoot to their feet.
"Pup kicked hard," I wheeze out as my ribs hurt bad. Tears fill my eyes as James pulls out his cellphone and talks rapidly.
"We need a doc here now; she got a hard kick to her ribs. I think the pup broke a few." I start to cry at his words. Theo holds my hand and talks to my pup.
"I'm next in line, Alpha of the Davage order. You pup, stop hurting your mom," he uses the alpha tone, and my pup calms down. I'm crying as Doc rushes in looking worried. Once my shirt is moved up, bruising lines my ribs, and all three gasp.
"Lena, I'm going to give you pain meds, honey; it is safe for you both. I need you to lie on the couch and try to rest," he adds, checking my ribs. I hiss in pain, and both boys growl.
"Be easy with her." I look at both as he checks more before handing me pills. I take them and look at Theo and James. Both sit near me once he leaves, and when I shiver, I'm covered up.
"I'm sorry," I slur as the meds kick in, taking the pain away but also making me sleepy.
"Rest, Lena, we will keep you safe, and when you wake, I will have a good meal made." Theo is covering me more. I drift off before I can thank them, and I hope when I wake my mates are here.
