CHAPTER44
Not everyone knew there was an extra guest. I quietly left the sitting room looking for a better place to hide. As I walked down an old wing of the castle, I found a slightly open door quickly going through it. I found I was in on old tower. I closed the door. Then, I began to climb the rotting stairs, being careful of my footings. When I reached the top of the stairs, I had to pry the hatch open it made a lot of noise. I froze, waiting to see if anyone had heard it. Once I had it open enough, I climbed up and slowly lowered the hatch back down. I sat in the dark for a long while listening to see if anyone was searching for me. I would be no help if i got caught. Finally, I pulled out my phone, and I had good service. I texted Alpha Colt, making sure the light of my phone was hidden. I heard the door open downstairs. I could hear two men talking but not what they were saying. I sat frozen with my finger on the send button. A third man joined them, and they walked away. I pressed send and waited for a response.
"Stay hidden. Quin, somehow teleported here, he is unconscious. We need to get the mist gateway open. Lucas is trying to get Zoya to open it."
"The Queen and the pups they are going to blow up the nursery Alpha Colt,"
Did he not understand someone had to get her and the pups out of there. If there was no way for them to get in. Then only I could do it.
"Alpha Colt, please ask the Lycan King and the Alpha King to save my people, Barton is nothing to what is headed this way."
I hit send, then left my phone, opened the hatch, and went down. I would save Queen Sasha and the pups even if it took my life.
I went down to the nursery, but there were guards at the door. I took the side exit and ran around to the nursery windows. Now, how to get up to them. There was nothing around to stand on or a ladder to climb up.
I threw a rock at the window, hoping to get Sasha's attention. After the third rock and nothing. I was at a loss as to what to do. I decided to try one more time. I grabbed the heaviest rock I figured I could throw, and with all my strength, I threw it at the wondow. Sasha appeared at the window. I waved frantically for her to see me. She turned away from the window. I sighed with disappointment. Suddenly, she reappeared and opened the window.
"What do you want?" she hissed at me.
"Sasha, get you and the pups out of there with the nannies they have hidden bombs in the nursery. Barton plans on blowing up you and the children." She did not respond.
"Sasha, did you hear me get out of there save you and the babies!!" I yelled. I heard an explosion. The windows blew out. Glass and was falling like rain down on me. I fell to my knees and cried.
A hand touched my shoulder. I looked up it was Sasha.
"Rollin, right, here take one of the babies from me." I stood and did as she requested.
"Hurry all of you," Sasha said, running into the woods. We all followed her. When we were inside the woods, she passed the baby she had to one of the cooks.
"Maggie, pray this works." Sasha said.
She closed her eyes and a couple minutes after fog began to rollin and surrounded us.
Go forward," Sasha said to us. She ran behind us as the fog cleared. We were standing in front of over 100 plus warriors. Sasha told us to go and opened the fog again to let the warriors into the castle grounds.
"Sasha, stay here, Alpha Colt told her, Quin is here."
"No alpha, Colt, you will need me to get back. I will stay hidden." He nodded, and they were gone.
I stood there as they marched into the misty fog. I hoped they could save the Lycan king.
ALPHA COLT'S POV
We marched into the castle grounds, and it was quiet to quiet.
"Take some of your men and go to the dungeon and save the Lycan King." I told the man that was in the lead of the Lycan army. "Kill every guard you see." I told everyone with me as we stormed into the castle.
As soon as we breached the front doors, we were met by fifty guards. The Lycan warriors shifted and made short work of them. The guards' bodies lay bloodied and broken.
"Well, Alpha Colt, how did you get past the misty fog?" Barton asked.
"It does not matter, Barton. You're done."
"You can not save them, Colt." Barton laughed.
A guard dragged Zoya to Barton. Who grabbed her to him.
"Say goodbye, Colt." Barton said as he pushed a detonator, and the nursery exploded. Zoya screamed. But I stood unaffected. I knew what he did not. The nursery was empty.
"My daughter, my grand pups." Zoya screamed, hitting Barton.
"Shut up, woman, or you will be next," Barton said, shaking Zoya.
"You will not leave here alive!" I told Barton.
"You can't stop me, Colt. You should have left them dead." He scowled.
I stood there smiling at him.
"My guards are killing your son about now, Colt."
"The only one getting killed now is you, Barton," a voice said from behind him.
Barton turned around fast and came face to face with the Lycan king. While he was distracted, I grabbed Zoya and linked my warrior to take her to Sasha in the woods.
Zoya ran with my warrior as the Lycan King shifted and killed Barton. I told my warriors to check every inch of the house and kill every guard. Sebastian told his warriors to find the staff and bring them out.
"How did you get in Colt?" Sebastian asked.
"Sasha let us in when she came through with Rollin, the pups and nannies."
"Do you know where Quin is?" He asked.
"In my pack hospital, when he teleported to the pack lands, it took a lot out of him." I told him.
"Thank the Goddess he is safe." Sebastian said, with relief.
"We need to clean up this mess before Sasha sees it," Sebastian said.
"She is in the woods. My warrior took Zoya to her."
"How was she able to open the misty fog?" Sebastian asked.
"We will have to ask her. I’m going to take her and Zoya to the pack house you coming?"
"Yes, let me give these men of mine some orders." I had my men start to get rid of the carnage and help where needed to clean this for the King and Queen to be able to return.
Sebastian and I joined Sasha and Zoya, we went back to the pack. The pups were being cared for by the nannies, so Sasha went to check on Quin.
