Chapter 34 Who Dares to Stop You from Entering the Company
The voices of children and Richard chatting drifted in from outside the door.
Frederick smiled slightly, got out of bed, walked to the door and pulled it open.
"Good morning."
Richard was leading Elizabeth and Margaret toward the living room.
Hearing Frederick's voice, both kids turned around at the same time, then happily ran toward him.
"Daddy, you're awake!"
"Daddy, did we wake you up?"
The two children each hugged one of his legs, tilting their little heads up and asking in sweet, childish voices.
Hearing those two "Daddy"s, Frederick's heart instantly felt full.
He picked them both up, one in each arm.
"You didn't wake me up. I was already awake."
With their view suddenly widening, both kids giggled happily.
Charles, coming out of his own room, watched this scene with a flash of envy in his eyes.
He wanted to be lifted up high too.
But remembering that he was a boy and couldn't act cute like his sisters, the little guy proudly straightened his face.
"Come down, both of you. See what gifts Mr. Flores brought back for you?"
Xandra finished washing up and brought out the gifts Frederick had brought back.
"What is it?"
The two little ones climbed down from Frederick and ran toward Xandra.
When they saw the dolls inside, both widened their eyes in delight.
"Wow, it's Sofia! And Lena Belle, Shirley, Bing Bing..."
The two rattled off the names of the pile of dolls excitedly.
A hint of amusement flashed in Frederick's eyes. "Do you like them?"
"Yes!"
Both children answered in unison.
"Daddy, I really like you!"
"I really like Daddy too!"
Each holding a doll, they ran into Frederick's arms and nuzzled him again and again.
The smile in Frederick's eyes deepened.
Seeing them so happy gave him more satisfaction than closing a multi-million dollar deal.
Charles's eyes flickered with emotion.
Did Frederick only bring gifts for his sisters?
Was it because his own attitude hadn't been warm enough, so Frederick didn't like him?
Charles felt inexplicably disappointed.
"Chuck, this is the programming tutorial Mr. Flores bought for you."
Xandra took out a USB drive.
Charles froze, looking at Frederick. "What programming tutorial is this?"
"Guess," Frederick said.
Charles's heart stirred. "Is it the programming tutorial written by the hacker legend L?"
"Yes."
Charles's eyes lit up. He rushed to Xandra and grabbed the USB drive, his eyes full of excitement.
Last time when Frederick was teaching him programming, he had only mentioned once that it would be great to get guidance from the famous hacker L.
He never expected Frederick would quietly get him L's programming tutorial!
"Thank you, Mr. Flores."
Well, he decided to give Frederick more points, raising his score from sixty to eighty!
Charles clutched the USB drive lovingly and hurried back to his bedroom.
Xandra had thought her son wouldn't like this gift and would feel Frederick didn't value him.
She didn't expect Charles to be so happy.
It seemed her flash-marriage husband really understood her son!
What she didn't know was that programming tutorials written by the hacker legend L couldn't be bought even with money.
Frederick had some connection with L. He had agreed to do L a favor, and only then did L agree to specially write this programming tutorial for him.
"Should we make breakfast now?" Richard suddenly asked.
These past two days when Frederick wasn't home, Xandra had made breakfast.
Of course, her breakfast was limited to heating up milk, warming frozen muffins from the supermarket, and frying an egg—it tasted okay, but felt like something was missing.
He was craving breakfast made by his grandson! Like sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon with toast, and a pot of coffee.
Frederick glanced at him. "Didn't you say you were going back?"
Richard huffed indignantly. "Xandra, look at your husband, he just can't stand having me around! If he wasn't my own grandson, I'd really advise you to remarry!"
Xandra couldn't help but laugh, already used to the grandfather and grandson's bickering.
"Ray, don't be like that. Grandpa staying here to help me with the kids has really been a huge help."
"You hear that?" Richard shouted at Frederick.
Frederick said casually, "What help did he give? Did he make breakfast for you?"
Richard choked. "Is being able to make breakfast such a big deal?"
"What do you think?"
Richard fell silent. Damn kid, he got him there!
But he really should be leaving.
His gaze swept over the two little granddaughters, and his eyes shifted—he needed to influence the kids and get them to leave with him!
After breakfast, Xandra mentioned to Richard about going to the Russell Jewelry to participate in the design competition.
Richard's eyes narrowed. "Xandra, are you planning to work at the Russell Jewelry?"
"Not sure yet. If my design skills aren't good enough, the company won't hire me," Xandra said modestly.
"I'd like to see who dares not let you into the company!"
His grandson's wife was the CEO's wife of the Russell Group—who would be blind enough not to hire her?
Xandra blinked, and Frederick also glanced at his grandfather.
Richard cleared his throat. "What I mean is, Xandra, you're so talented. If the Russell Jewelry doesn't hire you, how blind must the person in charge of the Russell Group be?"
Frederick remained silent.
Xandra couldn't help but laugh. "Thanks for the encouragement, Grandpa. I'll do my best."
"Go Mommy!"
"Mommy is the best!"
Elizabeth and Margaret clenched their little fists, cheering Xandra on.
Charles didn't say anything, but his expression also showed trust and encouragement for Xandra.
Xandra gave each of the three little ones a kiss.
"You all need to be good and listen to Great-grandpa at home, okay?"
"Okay."
Xandra followed Frederick out the door and noticed he was still driving that Bentley.
"You need to pick up your boss, right? Go ahead, I'll just take a cab."
The boss is right here, no need to pick him up! Frederick thought silently.
Seeing that Xandra had already called a car on the app, he didn't insist on taking her along.
"I've already talked to Aiden. He'll wait for you in the group lobby and take you to the competition venue."
"Okay."
Xandra nodded, watching the car drive away, secretly thinking that once she got the prize money, she must buy her flash-marriage husband a car.
Soon, her ride arrived.
Xandra got in the car, which drove along until it reached the Russell Group building on the commercial street.
In this prime location, a skyscraper towered into the clouds.
Sunlight shone on the Russell Group's gold-embossed logo, reflecting rays of golden light.
Grand and magnificent.
This was Seaside City's landmark building, the Russell Group.
Xandra got out of the car, took a deep breath, straightened her outfit, and walked into the group lobby.
Just then, Aiden came out from inside.
"Xandra."
"Aiden, sorry to trouble you today." Xandra said politely.
"No problem at all, please follow me." Aiden quickly made a welcoming gesture.
Xandra smiled and followed him inside.
The Russell Jewelry design department on the sixteenth floor.
The spacious reception hall had been temporarily converted into a competition venue.
The contestants had already taken their assigned seats, quietly waiting for the competition to begin.
