Chapter 33 Not the First Time
Frederick walked into the bathroom with his change of clothes.
Hearing the sound of running water from inside, Xandra patted her slightly flushed face, took a deep breath, and sat up on the bed after throwing off the covers.
This wasn't the first time anyway, nothing to be nervous about.
Besides, her flash-marriage husband was good-looking, had a great body, and was skilled—at the end of the day, she wasn't the one losing out.
Xandra gave herself a mental pep talk while randomly flipping through a book.
Before long, Frederick emerged from the bathroom.
Xandra's heart tightened, and she didn't dare look directly at him.
The bed dipped slightly beside her, and Frederick's teasing voice sounded in her ear:
"You have this talent too?"
Xandra froze, instinctively looking up.
She saw Frederick tilt his chin, gesturing for her to look for herself.
Looking down, she realized the book in her hands was upside down!
How embarrassing!
She wanted to crawl into a hole. She quickly put the book aside.
"Um, let me blow-dry your hair for you."
She threw off the covers, making to get out of bed.
But her wrist was caught, and she was pulled directly into a burning embrace.
Xandra gasped. Looking up, she met Frederick's deep eyes.
His hair was still half-wet, and his handsome face looked even more seductive and mysterious in the dim yellow light.
Her gaze involuntarily traveled over his sexy Adam's apple, delicate collarbone, firm chest muscles...
Her heart immediately raced.
"Nervous?"
Frederick's voice was low and suggestive.
"Ah, no! This isn't our first time!"
Xandra forced herself to stay calm.
Frederick's lips curved slightly as he glanced at her tightly clenched hands on either side, covering them with his large palms.
"Let go, don't tear the sheets."
Xandra fell silent. Fine, her body always ruthlessly betrayed her thoughts!
She quickly released her grip.
Frederick chuckled softly, intertwining his fingers with hers and pressing them above her head.
He then pressed down on top of her.
His intense masculine scent approached. Xandra swallowed and instinctively closed her eyes.
She could hear Frederick's breathing become heavy.
Their burning skin touched, carrying a hint of intimacy...
She had mentally prepared herself, but—her stomach suddenly felt uncomfortable.
She frowned and opened her eyes abruptly.
"Get up quick."
Frederick's lips were just 0.1 inches away from hers. With just a light touch, he could capture that nearby sweetness.
Hearing this, he paused, "What's wrong?"
"I... my stomach doesn't feel good," Xandra said.
Frederick narrowed his eyes, somewhat suspicious, "Really?"
"I'm not lying to you, get up quick. I... I think my period started."
Xandra pushed against his solid chest, looking anxious.
Frederick's expression was quite unpleasant.
He was already ready to eat, and now he was being told—the meal was spoiled!
This feeling...
Xandra couldn't worry about him and rushed off the bed into the bathroom.
Sure enough, her period had come early.
Probably because there had been too much going on this month, too much stress.
She found a sanitary pad. Thinking of Frederick's not-so-pleasant expression just now, she couldn't help but want to laugh.
This was definitely fate, not something she did on purpose!
When Xandra came out after cleaning up, Frederick was sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for her.
Meeting the fire in his eyes, Xandra tucked the loose hair by her ear behind it.
"Um, let's go to sleep early."
Frederick's gaze still held traces of desire, as if he was still hoping what just happened was a false alarm.
But clearly, it wasn't.
Watching her lie down beside him, he leaned over, his slender fingers lifting her chin.
"You look very happy?"
"Huh? No!"
Xandra quickly suppressed the corners of her mouth that had turned up.
"Not happy then? Because we can't have sex now? So you were secretly looking forward to having sex with me?"
Xandra fell silent. Here we go again!
What's it like having a husband who picks apart your words? It means being left speechless!
"Aren't you tired? Let's sleep."
She pulled away his hand and closed her eyes, pretending not to hear.
Frederick's soft laughter came to her ear, followed by the sound of the light turning off.
Frederick's breath approached, and she felt weight on her body as he pulled her into his arms.
Xandra didn't dare move.
She was afraid that Frederick, driven by desire, might not care about anything else.
Fortunately, nothing happened. Frederick just held her tightly without making any inappropriate moves.
Her body gradually relaxed.
But her stomach kept cramping painfully.
She frowned and shifted, wanting to reach down to rub her lower abdomen.
"Don't move."
Frederick's low, husky voice came to her ear, carrying a hint of fatigue.
Thinking that he must be very tired after two days of business travel, Xandra obediently lay still.
But her stomach cramped again. She had always had period pain issues—not severe, but always uncomfortable.
Usually, she would use a hot water bottle to ease it...
Noticing her discomfort, Frederick opened his eyes.
"What's wrong?"
Xandra bit her lip, "Nothing, just my stomach feels a bit uncomfortable."
In the dim light, he couldn't see her facial features clearly, but he could see her slightly furrowed brows, showing a hint of grievance.
Frederick was silent for a moment, then placed his large hand on her lower abdomen and gently massaged it.
The warmth from his palm passed through the thin nightgown, spreading to her limbs and warming her heart.
Xandra turned her head slightly, looking at Frederick's perfect profile as he slept, and something stirred in her heart.
"Go to sleep. No matter how horny you are, you'll just have to endure it."
Frederick, with his eyes closed, uttered a joking remark.
Caught peeking, Xandra's face flushed, and she quickly turned her head and closed her eyes.
Frederick slowly opened his eyes, looked at her profile, and curved his lips.
He had barely slept during his two-day business trip. Tonight he could finally get a good night's sleep.
——
The next day.
Xandra was awakened by the heat.
She opened her eyes to see Frederick's stunningly beautiful sleeping face.
She was stunned for two seconds before realizing—her flash-marriage husband had come back last night.
At this moment, she was nestled in his arms, clinging to him like an octopus.
And one of his large hands was still pressed against her lower abdomen.
This position... so intimate.
Xandra's face warmed slightly as images from last night floated through her mind—half asleep, half awake, she had kept pulling his hand to press and massage her lower abdomen.
She vaguely remembered him chuckling, "Using me as a massage machine? My timing coming back was perfect!"
She couldn't help wanting to cover her face. She carefully moved her hands and feet off him, wanting to get up.
"You're awake."
Frederick slowly opened his eyes, his voice low and husky with the laziness of just waking up.
Xandra's heart trembled, her heartbeat inexplicably accelerating.
"Good morning."
Frederick picked up his phone to check the time, raising an eyebrow.
He had actually slept until 7 AM!
Sure enough, having a calming scent beside him really helped with sleep.
"The kids should be awake. I'm getting up."
Xandra felt a bit uncomfortable facing a handsome man first thing in the morning.
She threw off the covers and headed straight for the bathroom.
Frederick watched her retreating figure, glanced at his slightly aroused penis, his eyes darkening.
This meal was really hard to get!
Downstairs, the children were already awake.
"Great-grandpa, did Daddy come back last night?"
"Yes, don't go disturb him. He's too tired from work, let him sleep a bit more."
"Okay."
