Chapter 27 Her Clothes Were Stripped
Xandra froze. "What?"
Frederick smirked. "You can't cook, but suddenly you're all eager to please. What's wrong with this soup?"
Xandra stayed quiet.
He really had a wild imagination.
"This soup wasn't made by me. Grandpa had the cook make it. You can drink it without worry."
Grandpa had the cook make it?
Frederick's eyes narrowed.
Richard was always thinking about having great-grandkids. Who knows what he put in this soup?
That makes it even more suspicious!
"I'm not drinking it."
He tossed out the words and plopped down on the couch.
Xandra panicked. "Why not? This is Grandpa's thoughtful gesture. He cares about you."
"I don't need it."
"Why don't you need it?"
Frederick looked up at Xandra's slightly furrowed, beautiful eyebrows and eyes, his gaze deep.
"Are you sure you want me to drink this soup?"
"This is Grandpa's thoughtful gesture. Of course, you should drink it."
Frederick raised an eyebrow and said, "Then drink it with me."
Xandra froze. "No, this is a tonic soup for you."
Frederick's tone was light. "You're too thin. You need nourishment too."
"I..."
"You drink, then I'll drink."
Xandra was silent.
This Frederick was really hard to please.
She glanced at the soup. She didn't know what kind of tonic soup it was, but thinking about Richard's thoughtful gesture...
"Fine, I'll drink it with you."
Xandra took a sip of the soup and found the taste a bit strange.
But it wasn't too bad.
She took two more sips. "Okay, your turn."
Frederick looked at her deeply, his lips curling slightly, and he took the bowl and drank it all in one go.
Xandra breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing his hair was still damp, she said, "Let me dry your hair."
So attentive?
Frederick raised an eyebrow. "You want something?"
Xandra was speechless. "No, why do you always think someone being attentive has ulterior motives?"
"What else?"
Frederick leaned back slightly, his posture relaxed.
Xandra found the hairdryer. "Think whatever you want. Just consider it my thanks for helping me today."
Frederick's eyes softened a bit. "It was my boss who helped you."
"Why would your boss help me? Isn't it because he values you? In the end, I'm still benefiting from you."
Xandra moved behind him and turned on the hairdryer.
As the buzzing sound filled the room, Frederick felt Xandra's delicate hands gently brushing through his hair, and he closed his eyes comfortably.
Thinking of Philip, his lips curled slightly. "My boss is handsome and wealthy. Aren't you attracted to him?"
Xandra laughed. "I'm not a fangirl."
"Really?"
"Yes."
Xandra paused. "Besides, speaking of handsome, you're more attractive than your boss. I've seen the best, and I'm immune to others."
Frederick, who had been squinting, opened his eyes at her words, his lips curling up unconsciously.
"Sweet talker?"
"I'm just being honest."
Frederick's long fingers tapped his thigh.
"But I don't have much money. Don't you envy those girls who can live a carefree life with their rich husbands?"
Xandra was silent.
Indeed, they were grandfather and grandson, even their thoughts were alike.
"Money or not, as long as we can live. A happy, harmonious family is more important than anything."
These words made Frederick's heart move slightly.
Does she really think that?
Philip's words flashed through his mind.
She asked for fifty thousand dollars as a bride price, not because she loved money, but perhaps out of necessity.
Her delicate hand continued to gently brush through his hair.
Each stroke seemed to stir his heartstrings.
Suddenly, a surge of heat made him feel restless.
Indeed, the tonic soup had issues!
That Richard...
"Done."
Xandra turned off the hairdryer and put it back.
Her slender and graceful figure caught Frederick's deep gaze.
When Xandra returned, Frederick's voice was slightly hoarse. "Aren't you hot?"
At first, Xandra didn't feel hot, but after he mentioned it, she suddenly felt a bit warm.
"Yeah, kind of hot. Is the AC set too high? I'll lower it."
She walked towards the door, her hand just touching the handle when her wrist was grabbed.
In the next second, Frederick turned her around and pushed her against the door.
The strong male presence made Xandra's heart skip a beat.
"What are you doing?"
"The AC is already set to seventy-five degrees. Lowering it more will make the kids catch a cold."
Frederick's voice was low and slightly seductive.
The familiar, pleasant scent filled her nose.
His exposed chest muscles shimmered enticingly.
Xandra swallowed, her gaze slightly evasive.
"Oh, right."
Whose heart was beating so fast!
His body temperature was scorching, making her heart tremble.
"Let go of me. It's too hot."
Frederick's gaze deepened as he looked at her flushed lips.
"Are you sure you want me to let go?"
His voice was husky, with a hint of temptation.
Xandra's eyes flickered, her mind momentarily blank.
Frederick leaned closer. "Regretting asking me to drink the soup now?"
"What?"
Xandra didn't understand.
"That soup has issues."
What issues?
Her confused look was like a cute little bunny.
Her red lips were tempting.
Frederick raised his hand and gently pinched her delicate chin.
"Xandra, are you too shy to be proactive, so you teamed up with Grandpa to make me take the initiative?"
Xandra finally understood the issues with the soup and felt both amused and exasperated.
"No way!"
"Oh, so you want me to take the initiative?"
Xandra was silent.
Here we go again! This Frederick always misinterpreted others' intentions!
Xandra felt a bit parched from the heat.
She dared not meet Frederick's deep gaze.
"Let go of me. I need to drink water."
Frederick didn't move, his tone meaningful. "Will drinking water truly quench your thirst?"
This thirst was not that thirst.
Xandra bit her lip, pretending not to understand his innuendo.
"Of course!"
This time, Frederick let her go.
Xandra didn't expect him to be so straightforward, and she was momentarily stunned.
Frederick raised an eyebrow. "Not going to drink water?"
"Oh."
Xandra moved, trying to turn around.
Unexpectedly, she tripped over something and fell forward.
Frederick silently retracted his long leg and extended his strong arm, holding her firmly.
Xandra was startled, not knowing his mischief.
She looked up and met Frederick's slightly teasing gaze.
"Playing hard to get? Xandra, still claiming you're not trying to seduce me!"
Xandra's face turned red.
"No, I'm not!"
She tried to stand straight, but her body felt weak.
Frederick's pleasant scent made her feel even more parched.
Her gaze fell on his sexy Adam's apple, exquisite collarbone, and firm chest muscles...
Her flash-marriage husband was indeed handsome! Handsome enough to make one daydream.
They were married now, and they had been intimate before...
A warm touch came to her chin.
Frederick pinched her chin, forcing her to look up.
Her lips warmed as Frederick's kiss landed.
Xandra's heart trembled, she unconsciously let out a soft moan, her fingers curling instinctively.
Frederick's breath deepened, his hand around her waist tightened.
As their breaths intertwined, Xandra slowly closed her eyes.
Frederick's kiss grew intense, her mind became dizzy.
When she regained her senses, Frederick had already pulled her onto the bed.
The soft mattress bounced slightly under their weight.
Xandra's eyelashes trembled, meeting Frederick's deep gaze.
There, sparks seemed to grow stronger.
Her body cooled as her clothes were peeled away, revealing a large area of smooth skin.
Frederick's fevered kisses fell again.
