Chapter 337 Vivian Is Kidnapped

Chapter 337 Vivian Is Kidnapped

"Yes," Tony replied.

Richard sighed, "Too bad things didn't work out between you and Rachel."

Tony instinctively glanced over at Rachel, who was chatting with Harper nearby, but said nothing.

He felt there was still hope between him and Rachel.

But life was unpredictable, so he didn't dare make any bold claims now.

There was no guarantee that Rachael would accept him back after his dealings with Vivian.

Xandra noticed this and pulled him aside when she found a chance, asking, "Dad, you're not really planning to stay with Vivian forever, are you?"

"How is that possible?"

Tony denied it flatly, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes. "Just wait and see. She'll get what's coming to her soon enough."

Xandra blinked and asked, "Why didn't she come back with you today?"

Tony said, "I asked her not to come. I wasn't about to let her come here and ruin the mood, obviously."

"She agreed to that?" Xandra was curious.

Now that Vivian has become the wife to the president of a global corporation, she must be basking in her success, given her personality.

Today was Richard's big birthday. The room would be filled with the elite giving Vivian the perfect environment to show off.

How could she obediently listen to Tony and not come back?

Tony's smile turned somewhat sinister. "Xandy, haven't you been watching the news? I took her on our honeymoon before coming back. Right now she's still sleeping soundly at the hotel."

Xandra didn't catch the deeper meaning in his words.

She was only aware that since they wed, the media coverage had been relentlessly positive, casting them as the perfect couple- the doting husband and the adorable younger wife while other headlines showered Tony with congratulations on finding his one true love.

Vivian frequently accompanied Tony to every function and high-profile meeting from all sectors.

The press portrayed her as the perfect, elegant wife leading the world to believe that Tony truly doted on her.

Just then, Tony's phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID—it was Vivian calling.

She must have woken up, not seen him, and called to ask where he was.

His lips curved coldly, and he didn't answer.

Meeting Xandra's puzzled gaze, he put on a kind smile.

"Alright, today's a happy occasion. Let's not talk about that woman. It won't be long before the consequences of her greed catch up with her."

Since he wouldn't say more, Xandra didn't press further.

She just glanced at Rachel, who was talking with Harper, and said, "Dad, I'm waiting for you to divorce Vivian and pursue my mother-in-law."

At this mention, Tony cleared his throat lightly. "I wonder if your mother-in-law will mind that I'm divorced."

He called himself a divorced man.

As it happened, his mother-in-law was also divorced.

In a way, didn't that make them a good match?

Xandra smiled. "She won't mind. After all, your marriage to Vivian wasn't what you wanted."

Tony glanced at Rachel in the distance, her movement defined by natural grace and charm, and asked, "Xandy, when you were living with your mother-in-law, did she ever mention me?"

He was trying to find out more about her mother-in-law.

Xandra said, "Yes, she did."

"What did she say about me?" Tony asked eagerly.

Xandra fell silent.

She couldn't very well say that her mother-in-law found him annoying with all his calls and texts, could she?

Xandra's eyes darted around, then she said, "Mother-in-law said you've been pursuing her pretty persistently, and she's even a bit jealous."

Tony perked up. "She's jealous?"

Xandra nodded. "Yes, she's worried that you think Vivian is younger and might end up not wanting to divorce her."

"That's impossible," Tony said.

"Exactly. I reassured her that you're not that kind of person," Xandra said.

Tony agreed, "If I were easily enthralled by beauty, would I have stayed single this long?"

Xandra smiled, as he allowed the thought of Rachel to fill his mind.

"Actually, Rachel understands. She just feels a bit uncomfortable seeing you and Vivian together in the news."

Tony looked at Rachel in the distance, a smile flashing in his eyes.

His heart warmed at the thought of her being jealous.

He asked again, "Anything else?"

"That's all."

Xandra paused, then added, "But whenever she talked about you, her eyes sparked brightly."

Though this was a bit exaggerated, the point was that her mother-in-law wasn't indifferent to her dad so she'd give them the push they need. At this rate, she could pass for Cupid.
Tony felt even more pleased, wishing he could divorce Vivian right away and properly pursue Rachel.

Soon after, his phone rang again.

This time it was an unknown number.

A dark gleam flashed in Tony's eyes as he pressed the answer button.

"Who is this?"

"Mr. Hawk, your wife is in my possession. Her safety is solely dependent on your next move, so I suggest you listen and do as I say!"

A man's sinister voice came through the phone.

The voice sounded strange—clearly using a voice changer.

A sharp light flashed in Tony's eyes as he asked, "Who are you? What do you want?"

"Cut the crap. Get a hundred million dollars ready and wait for my instructions! Remember, don't call the police, or you'll be collecting your pretty wife's body!"

After threatening him viciously, the caller hung up directly.

Tony looked at the darkened screen, cold light in his eyes, but his lips curved up slightly.

What was meant to come had finally arrived!

Xandra asked, "Dad, what's wrong? Is something the matter?"

Tony said, "Vivian's been kidnapped."

Xandra was shocked. "That was the kidnapper calling?"

"Yes."

"What did they demand?"

"They want me to prepare a hundred million dollars for her ransom."

A hundred million dollars!

The kidnappers had quite an appetite!

Xandra blinked. "Dad, are you going to get the money ready to pay Vivian's ransom?"

At this, Tony laughed. "I'm willing to get the money ready for her ransom but I can't!"

"Have you forgotten? I gave all my assets to you. Right now, stripping away my title as President, I'm penniless."

Xandra fell silent.

This reason left no room for criticism!

So the pressure was on her now?

"So you are suggesting that I pay her ransom?" Xandra asked.

Tony looked at her. "Xandy, are you close with her?"

Xandra shook her head. "Not at all."

"Is your relationship with her good?"

"Very bad."

"Then why would you pay her ransom?"

Xandra fell silent.

She had no reason whatsoever.

She just felt a bit guilty.

Even though she didn't like Vivian, it was still a human life!

Should she just pretend not to know?

"So I should just pretend I don't know?" Xandra voiced her thoughts.

"Of course not."

Tony's gaze was dark and shadowy. "Kidnappers are all greedy. Even if we give them the ransom, they might not release her. They might just take the money and kill her anyway. We might as well just call the police."
