Chapter 320 The Child Is Not Yours

Chapter 320 The Child Is Not Yours

The children are Lucas's biological kids, which means biologically speaking, Frederick was their uncle.

However, he had done a paternity test with the children before, and the results showed there was no blood relation between him and them.

If the three children really were Lucas's biological kids, then the test results shouldn't have come back completely negative.

Frederick felt his blood pumping hard as he considered this issue.

Something wasn't right.

Lucas wasn't the father of the three kids.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

Xandra's voice rang out. She was in Frederick's arms and she had noticed he wasn't focused.

Frederick looked down, meeting the woman's clear gaze, and swallowed the words that were about to come out.

The incident four years ago had been a tragedy for her, and now she was recalling all of it.

Back then, all those girls who were kidnapped were raped by those criminals.

Before Lucas rescued her, she must have suffered abuse too.

If the children weren't Lucas's, then they must be those criminals'.

Telling her about this now would be like reopening old wounds and pouring salt into them.

Better to stay quiet in the meantime.

"Nothing, just feeling a bit dizzy."

"Then let's go back."

"Okay."

Frederick put his arm around her shoulder, his narrow eyes appearing even darker in the night.

Xandra helped him wash up and get into bed, then went to the bathroom to wash up herself.

After she went in, Frederick was silent for a moment, then dialed Lucas's number.

This was the first time they'd been in contact since Lucas woke up, although their conversation lacked any tenderness or warmth like it did before.

The call connected quickly.

"Fred."

"Yeah."

Both fell silent.

Lucas laughed, "I heard from Xandy that you were in a car accident? I should have come to see you, but she asked me to take care of the kids, so I could only listen to her. Are you okay?"

Frederick's dark eyes deepened. He didn't miss the showing off in his tone.

"My wife has been taking care of me day and night, so naturally I'm doing great," he shot back.

Lucas fell silent again for a moment, then said, "Fred, let's be straight with each other at this point. The children are mine and Xandy's. Can you let our family of four be together?"

Family of four?

Frederick spoke in a low voice, "Lucas, the children aren't yours."

Lucas laughed, "Fred, Xandy must have told you, right? Four years ago, we were together. She's remembered everything. The children are ours."

Frederick ignored the irritation rising in his heart and spoke calmly.

"Lucas, I did a paternity test with Chuck before. The results showed there was no blood relation between me and him. If the three children really were yours, then as their uncle, I couldn't possibly have no blood relation with them. So, the children aren't yours."

Lucas's breathing paused slightly, "You did a paternity test?"

"Yes. Everyone said Chuck looks a lot like me. I had my doubts, so I did a paternity test, but the results showed he wasn't mine. We just happen to look alike."

Frederick paused, "So Lucas, please stop using this as an excuse to deliberately get close to the children. When the time is right, I'll announce that the three children are mine and Xandy's biological kids."

There was a total silence on the other end of the line.

After a while, Lucas laughed, "Fred, you say you did a paternity test. Are you sure something didn't go wrong during the processing?"

Frederick frowned, "That's impossible. I specifically took blood samples from me and Chuck to do the paternity test."

Lucas said, "That's exactly it! Fred, have you forgotten that you had a bone marrow transplant? Because of that, your blood type most likely matches the donor's. That's why the genetic comparison between you and Chuck came out different."

Frederick's brows suddenly furrowed and his grip tightened around the phone. Truly, he did have a bone marrow transplant. Could it be that after that, genetic comparisons would be inaccurate?

"Fred, if you don't believe me, when you get back, I can do a genetic comparison with the children. Or if you don't trust what I'm saying, you can also use your hair to do another genetic comparison with the children and see if you have a blood relation with them or not."

Lucas sounded so calm, as if stating an established fact.

Frederick's eyes surged with emotion, his thin lips pressed tight.

Lucas sounded so certain, which meant that it must be true!

After a while, he said in a low voice, "Lucas, even if the children are yours, wanting a family of four is just wishful thinking. Xandra doesn't love you, and she won't divorce me. Let it go."

Lucas said, "Fred, I've admired you since we were kids, and you've always looked after me. I've rarely asked you for anything, except four years ago when I asked you to rescue Xandy. I've never asked you for anything else. Now I'm asking you one more time, can you please give her to me?"

Give Xandra to him?

Frederick's brow furrowed slightly, "Lucas, Xandra is a person, not an object. I told you, she doesn't love you."

"No! She does love me!"

Lucas said, "Fred, I knew her before you did. We were in love four years ago, we even have children together. How can you say we're not in love?"

Frederick's dark eyes grew darker, "Lucas, you said it yourself, that was four years ago. Your relationship ended four years ago. Now she's my wife, your sister-in-law. Do you really still want to compete with me?"

"Fred, you're the reason she isn't my wife right now. How can I accept this?"

His tone carried a hint of resentment and jealousy.

Frederick's Adam's apple bobbed, and he said in a low voice, "Then let's make a deal! I'll hand the Russell Group over to you, and you give up on Xandra."

Lucas laughed, "Fred, are you giving me charity? I'm also a Russell family descendant. Why should the Russell Group be yours? Before, I respected you as my big brother, so I didn't compete with you. Grandpa wanted you to inherit the family business, so I let you have it. But now..."

Frederick's eyes narrowed, "Now you wish to compete with me?"

"Yes! Fred, I want the company, and I want the woman too!"

The voice on the phone was both familiar and strange simultaneously.

Frederick's mind flashed with images of his smiling face.

In his memory, Lucas was still a gentle and refined young man.

He thought they would be united brothers for life.

However, the unpredictability of life was inevitable.

They didn't develop a rift because of Jennifer, but became rivals over the same woman.

He wants everything?

Then let's see!

Frederick hung up the phone and first went online to check some information.

To see if, as Lucas said, after a bone marrow transplant, the blood type would change to the donor's blood type.

After checking, it was indeed true.

So the three children were still Lucas's?

Just then, the bathroom door opened, and Xandra walked out.

She was wearing the silk nightgown Rachel had prepared for her.

The semi-transparent design outlined her graceful figure.

She was holding a towel in her hand, running it through her damp hair.

Frederick looked at her, looking so charming and alluring. She was his wife and she could only be his.
