Chapter 147

Chapter 147
SOPHIA: You don’t have to do anything. I’ll handle it, and no one will be the wiser.
CELESTE: Sorry, but no. If you intend to do that, then I’m out. Our cooperation ends here.

SOPHIA: Remember, we planned together to kill Asher Rhys, and we did it. I have dirt on you, and you have dirt on me. You will do it. Even if you don’t, I’ll say you did, and if I go down, then you’re going with me too.

CELESTE: What do you want to do?

SOPHIA: Well, we won’t wait for them to be in public. We’ll get him from the house. She leaves the kid with the housekeeper. The housekeeper is the one we need to get to. “Sky, Asher already knows,” he said, turning his phone towards me. He had called him, and he heard everything.

CELESTE: Okay, then go for it, but warning, if you get caught, then I have no part in it.
SOPHIA: Sure, whatever.

We stayed there and watched them until they left. It was almost eleven. When I got home, it was almost twelve. When I walked in, Samuel was by the door, and Asher was in the living room with him. He was asleep on the couch, hugging his teddy. Freya was here, and so was Chris. I sat down and looked at him. Miles sat in one of the chairs.

“I didn’t think Celeste would go this far,” she said.
“They are evil. Especially Sophia for going after a kid,” Miles said with disgust.

“We let them,” Asher said, and I looked at him.
“Asher, you can’t be serious?” Chris said, looking at him.

“I am. We get the detective involved. We let them think they can accomplish it, and just before they get him, we have the detective deal with it. Then I’ll start tearing down BLM,” he said.
“Okay,” I said. “Look, it’s better this way. Sophia and Celeste will go to jail. We’ll leak the video of them planning online and let the masses deal with them.” “Okay, baby girl. If you’re sure, then let’s do it,” Miles said.

“In the meantime, he is never to be alone because we don’t know if they’ll change their plans,” Freya said.
“I’ll call Lana and Eli. I’ll have Sophia’s phone tapped, so we’ll know who she’s calling and everything. Samuel, wait. Skylar, you said you had someone watching everyone?” He asked, looking at me.

“Yes, but I had asked Samuel to pull them off a few days after you returned,” I said.
“Okay, Samuel, have them return to their positions and update you on every move they make,” he said, and Samuel nodded.

“Okay. Chris, you’ll meet Detective Bryson and explain the situation. I don’t want him coming over here in case they have someone watching and see him here; they may suspect something,” I said.
“Okay, I’ll do that,” he said.

“Why don’t you guys get some rest? We’ll discuss it in the morning,” Asher said, standing up and picking up Adriel and heading towards the stairs.
“Miles, you know where your room is,” I said as I headed up the stairs.

When I walked into our room, he was standing looking at Adriel sleeping. “I’ll fucking kill her, Skylar. I will,” he said quietly, and I knew he meant it. “I know you will. We’ll send Celeste to jail, and Samuel will get her the same way he got Emelda,” I said, walking over to him. He wrapped his arms around me and held me. “The thought of someone hurting him scares me, Bunny,” he said, holding me tighter.

Asher,

When Miles called me, I thought they were in trouble, but I kept listening, and the more I heard, the angrier I became, but I also became scared. Who in their right fucking mind would want to hurt a child, an innocent child?

“He’ll be safe, love. I’ll make sure of it; you’ll make sure of it. Miles, Freya, Chris, Lana, and everyone else will make sure he stays safe,” she said, pulling me out of my thoughts. “I know, but I can’t help but be worried about him.” “I know, and that fear won’t ever go away, not even if he’s an adult. Come on, get some rest, and we’ll deal with it tomorrow. He’s safe tonight.”

After she took a shower, we went to bed. I held her close to me as she drifted off to sleep, but I couldn’t sleep. Sleep wouldn’t come. When the sun rose, I was still awake. When he woke up at six and started fussing, I moved quietly off the bed and went to his crib. When he saw me, he began smiling. I picked him up and took him to his room. I got him showered and dressed and went back to our room. She was now waking up.
After a shower, we headed down to breakfast. Miles, Freya, and Chris were still here. During breakfast, we decided what we would do and came up with a plan.

“I texted Lana last night. She and Mateo will be down later today. Eli has some stuff to take care of.”
“Liam is busy also. Some business, plus Martha isn’t well,” Miles said.
“That’s fine. We’ll deal with it. Chris, there isn’t anything important today, right?” I asked.
“No. That was finished yesterday,” he said.

“Okay. You and Freya will stay here with Adriel and Sky. Miles and I need to go take care of something,” I said.
“Sure. I get you all to myself, buddy,” he said, looking at Adriel, and he began giggling.

“Yeah, you better give your husband kids,” I said, looking at Freya, and she began coughing.
“Must you say that every time? Besides, why have my own when we can dote on yours?” she said, smirking, and I looked at Chris.

“Yeah, no. I’m happy with Adriel for now,” he said, walking around and picking up Adriel. I just shook my head; apparently, everyone was a baby thief.

Skylar,

After breakfast, he and Miles left, saying they were going somewhere to take care of something. Freya and I were in the living room relaxing. Chris left at eleven, saying he was heading over to the police station.

“Sky, can I ask you something?” Freya asked hesitantly.
“Sure.”

“Do you think her father knows what she’s doing? Celeste, I mean, he has to know. If he doesn’t, then something is wrong with him, and he has no interest in her life and what she does,” she said.

“Freya, I honestly have no idea, but when it’s out in the open, only then will we know what he knows.”

“I really hope he’s not involved in this. I can’t believe that crazy bitch would go that far and try to hurt Adriel,” she said.
“Freya, people do crazy things for revenge, and trust me, Asher is going to make her pay for it,” I said.

Shortly before lunch, Chris came back, and we had lunch. After lunch, Hilda asked if she could leave for a few hours, and I told her it was fine. Around three, Asher and Miles came home. They looked tired.
