Lena POV 

"So? You should know as an alpha, I have to impose an authority!"

"By suspecting me?"

"Everyone's a suspect!"

"Athena understands more than you. You just go on to blame people who you think are vulnerable not the actual people who wants to see your downfall"

"How dare you speak to your alpha like that!!" I roared raising my chest up to break into a fight.

"Stop it! Both of you!!" Mom cried coming in between us before I'd think of closing the space.

She still had tears, breathing hard.

"Can you stop? It was all a misunderstanding, I get. You're welcome" mom pressed on as her eyes shifted between Adam and me.

I was glaring at him but Adam wasn't, he just had a neutral expression on his face.

Like it wasn't Athena who forced me to do all these.

He lowered his head at me, his eyes glistening.

"If you suspect anyone of us, shy don't you ask?"

"Yeah explain why you were in the woods! Why you tried killing that girl! You're the killer aren't you?"

Adam part his lips, not looking surprised.

"What do you think?"

"Can we go inside and talk about this?" Mom suggested but I'd try to control myself not to push her aside.

"No! I picked up your scent in the woods, explain why?"

"You picked my scent leading you to my suite didn't you?"

"Stop switching the topic!"

"I'm not and stop causing a commotion here"

"Adam stop it! Answer her now!" Mom snapped and sucked his breath.

"I wasn't the one in the woods. Maybe someone wore my clothes or any of my items to smell like me and have me framed"

He answered no breaking off and it hurts me that he listens to her not even me.

"Who? And if anyone wanted to have you framed..."

"Think Lena. What if that person invited you on purpose to the penthouse, because he knows that you'd scent me?"

No way! He was trying to confuse me right? I went there to search for a lawyer but then, what will a lawyer be doing at a party meant for young adults?

When I arrived, I didn't see him which makes sense.

But then it was his wife who informed me. I feel my head is being used here.

"I went there for a different reason" I buttressed mellowing down.

"I don't want to know your reason and believe whatever you want"

I heaved shifting my gaze away.

"Or does your wolf also lust after another? Because one wouldn't be enough"

Athena's head shot up, my eyes widened as Mom's jaw dropped.

"What are you saying?"

"Oh someone's hates that they can't fuck me!"

"Lena!"

"What? Are you going to deny it? That you didn't sell me off to the alpha for his son!" I charged at her, boiling in rage.

"You can't accuse her like that"

"Oh stop with bullshit!  You know don't you?"

Mom was going all emotional again as her eyes danced in their sockets.

"Please stop with the tears, it was my bad to believe you in the first place! You made me feel so guilty for hating you but then you were really messing with me!"

"That's a lie...I would never"

"You know what? I get Adam wasn't who was in the forest or woods but you? You're trying to deny what you did?" I accused as she looked puzzled.

Her face etched with surprises.

"It's a good thing you never returned to the palace or I would have looked you up. Explain yourself. Where you that driven for the love of money?"

She wasn't standing between us now and Adam was trying to defend her but I shut him up.

"Go on"

"Can you talk inside..."

"Do I look like someone who wants to talk?" I roared furiously at her.

Adam was looking at her now, shocked by it.

"Lena please you have to lower your voice, perhaps she has her reason"

"What reason? And bask me like someone who's repentant? Like all the love and stupid care will replace that?"

"At least it got you a throne!"

I scoffed at her as her justification wasn't even matching up.

"That's betrayal at its peak" I shoot. Adam was between us now.

"Luna, why would you do that? I still don't know who to believe in all this"

The Luna, I was sure I saw her smirked at Adam while her palm wiped her tears.

"I agree, I was stupid for that. That's why I wanted you to leave. Their father had forced me, lives were at stake"

I scruntized her and then dart my gaze away. More like she was happening to sign it.

What people does she have under her that makes him threaten her?

"How could you Luna. I trusted you but you did this to your own daughter?"

Adam was quick to believe me and that's a relief that despite we fight, he'd still support.

"I...I was under duress" she cried but I was fed. Everything was mixing up in my head and I seriously needed to breath.

"I'm so fucking done with all of this"

"I think you should apologize..."

I walked away, wanting to be alone now as I'd spilled my emotions to her and that's enough.

I didn't know where I was going but the stupid rain had decided to start falling leaving me stranded in an abyss.

I hate rains, it always makes me sick and now, tomorrow was the games.

Just as I'd wanted to be along, a car drove pass me, honking and lowering down the glasses, I realized it was Adam.

He'd halt the car, running out with an umbrella towards me.

"You don't have to punish yourself, get inside the car" he muttered opening the umbrella over my head.

But suddenly the world was going in circles and I felt very heavy.

The last I recalled was collapsing to the floor.
