Chapter 52 Betrayal
"But I haven't done anything wrong to you, how can you treat me like this?"
"Let me... let me explain..."
Daisy stammered, recalling Felix's words about being a married man's secret lover. Her mind was in turmoil, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably as she spoke intermittently, "I am just a despicable mistress!"
"Daisy!" Justin spoke up, and the next moment, he saw Daisy collapse onto the bed, clutching her stomach and writhing in pain.
Justin immediately knew something was wrong and hurriedly picked her up, calling a taxi to rush them to the hospital.
Throughout the entire process, Justin cradled Daisy in his arms and kept calling her his baby darling into her ear.
While suffering from excruciating pain, Daisy's subconsciously clung tightly to Justin and kept whimpering, "It hurts, Justin, it hurts so much!"
Justin kissed Daisy's forehead and supported her lower body, softly saying, "I know, my baby, it's my fault, it's my fault!"
Upon arriving at the private hospital, a maternity ward nurse immediately came over, assessed the situation and said, "Her cervix is already dilated, we need to prepare for delivery."
At one o'clock in the morning, Justin was leaning his body against the wall, while listening to the screams coming out from the delivery room. He was clenching his fist tightly.
Justin had a calm personality and was usually well-composed, However, this incident had caused him to be highly agitated.
He was gloomy and behaved aggressively, even the occasional passerby were afraid to get close to him.
His mood finally changed when he heard the sound of the delivery door being pushed open.
"Are you Daisy's family?" the nurse came out holding the baby and said, "It's a boy, he is very healthy, and weighs over 7 pounds."
Justin looked down and saw the tiny face of the baby. The baby had wrinkled face, like a little old man.
He cautiously reached out and gently touched his baby, asking, "What about my wife?"
"She's fine. When the incision is stitched up, you can go into the delivery room to accompany her."
"Good!" Justin responded briefly, his gaze fixed on the delivery room.
Time passed slowly.
When the delivery room opened again, the doctor and nurse walked out and gestured to Justin in a low voice.
Justin immediately walked in, seeing Daisy lying flat on the hospital bed, with the baby peacefully beside her.
Justin walked to Daisy's side, and whispered softly, "My baby, you've been through a lot!"
Daisy glanced at him before quickly shifting her gaze away.
Justin's heart trembled, but he didn't say much. He didn't mention Quinn either, silently accompanying her by her side.
Daisy stayed in the hospital for three days before being discharged and going home to take care of the baby.
They had hired Aunt Sun to prepare Daisy’s daily meal during her pregnancy.
When Daisy was in her mid-stage of pregnancy, Justin had hired a nanny in advance and rented a neighboring room for her to live inbecause Daisy had difficulty moving around due to the large size of her belly.
In hindsight, considering Justin's status, it was impossible for him to be short of funds.
Unable to help herself, Daisy asked, "Is this house rented or is it yours?"
This was the first time Daisy voluntarily spoke to Justin after the incident.
