Chapter 172 Ambush

Chapter 172 Ambush

"What's an Oceancrest City guy like you doing here in Maplewood City as a bodyguard?"

"Speak up. You're not here on Brandon's orders to spy on Monica, are you?"

Kiley frowned slightly, recalling some rumors about this man.

She remembered hearing about Peter back in Oceancrest City. He was pretty notorious there, known as a high-level thug, and some even said he was the leader of a gang.

But how could Brandon be involved with someone like him?

Kiley was full of doubts, and her gaze at Peter became more scrutinizing.

"Don't use such an ugly word like 'spy.' Call it 'protect.'"

"Look at all these bags I'm holding. Mr. Robinson was very insistent, not wanting his precious wife to suffer, so he specifically asked me to bring these. Aren't you going to take them?"

Peter extended his hand, offering the bags to Monica, his face still wearing that roguish smile.

Seeing the three women standing there without any intention of responding, Peter sighed helplessly and continued, "Didn't you and your husband agree on this?"

"Just seven days away from the Robinson Mansion. I only brought seven days' worth of clothes. My job is to ensure Monica's safety during these seven days."

As he spoke, he gestured in the air, trying to convince Monica and the others of his sincerity.

"How about it? I promise I won't bother you, Monica. I'll just follow you from a distance."

"Follow? More like making sure our Monica doesn't run away."

"The so-called high society really uses such despicable methods."

Kiley complained mercilessly.

"Now, that's not a nice thing to say."

Peter said, suddenly turning around and snapping his fingers with flair.

Instantly, the doors of the Maplewood City Grand Hotel opened, and two rows of uniformed staff filed out, followed by a dozen burly bodyguards.

They quickly lined up behind Peter, exuding an imposing presence.

Peter looked at the scene with pride and said, "I've booked the entire Maplewood City Grand Hotel. You three lovely ladies can choose any room you like."

He spread his arms wide, as if showcasing his spoils.

"What?"

Kiley was momentarily speechless, her eyes wide with shock.

She hadn't expected Peter to make such a grand gesture, feeling conflicted about whether to praise his generosity or criticize his ostentatious and almost foolish behavior.

Peter looked at the three women still standing at the entrance, unmoved, and raised an eyebrow, his gaze challenging, "Aren't you coming in? The hotel is yours to use during this time."

He was confident that his gesture would impress Monica and the others.

Sophie also scrutinized the flamboyant Peter.

As an artist, she was used to meeting all kinds of people, with diverse styles and fashion senses.

But for some reason, she just couldn't stand Peter's cocky demeanor.

She gently linked arms with Monica and whispered in her ear, "I think you should come back to the Green Villa with me. This guy your husband found doesn't seem very reliable."

Her eyes were full of concern, worried that something might go wrong if Monica stayed with Peter.

"Not reliable? I've booked the entire hotel for you. Whether you're sad or happy, you can express your emotions freely without anyone disturbing you."

Peter's eyes widened in surprise at Sophie's words, his exaggerated actions making him look like a mischievous child showing off.

Kiley rolled her eyes, feeling annoyed.

She recalled her first impression of Peter, thinking he was quite handsome.

But now, watching his every deliberate move to look cool, any initial good impression vanished completely.

Kiley snorted coldly, "But this so-called protection feels more like a creepy imprisonment. Let's go, we're not staying here."

She said, pulling Monica and making a move to leave.

Peter, seeing this, shrugged nonchalantly and then raised his hands.

In an instant, the two rows of people who had been standing neatly moved swiftly, forming an impenetrable wall, blocking Monica and the others' path to the car.

"What do you mean by this?"

Kiley glared angrily, shouting.

Her fists clenched tightly, her chest heaving with rage.

"It means exactly what you see. I said I was invited by Mr. Robinson to protect Monica."

Peter's playful expression disappeared, replaced by a serious look.

"So Monica can't leave my sight."

"Wherever Monica wants to go, she has to take my driver, my car, and my bodyguards."

"She has to stay within my sight, in the hotel I booked. Is that clear?"

"And she has to use the things I bought. Of course, Mr. Robinson is footing the bill, so you don't have to pay a dime."

He finished in one breath, his strong Maplewood City accent making one wonder if he was really from Oceancrest City or Maplewood City.

Peter gestured dramatically as he spoke, like an actor performing on stage.

Kiley, watching his antics, rolled her eyes in exasperation.

She couldn't stand it anymore and threw the items in her hand at Peter.

Then, she lifted her high-heeled foot and aimed a kick at Peter's groin.

Caught off guard, Peter's vision was obscured by the bags, leaving him no time to react.

With a scream, he was hit squarely in the groin by Kiley.

Peter jumped in pain, clutching his injured area, his face contorted in agony, "You crazy woman, how dare you?!"

"You want to make me sterile! I'm telling you, if I can't ever..."

"If I can't ever have sex again, you'll have to marry me!"

"Even if I end up with penile agenesis, I'll still cling to you!"

He howled in pain, threatening Kiley, but his body was curled up like a shrimp, and his words came out in gasps.

"Go to hell!"

Kiley ignored Peter's threats, quickly grabbing Monica, and the three women split up, running in different directions.

The bodyguards, seeing Peter writhing in pain on the ground, were momentarily at a loss, unsure of whom to chase.
