Williams got embarrassed at the border
The wind shifted as Isabella stepped closer, her eyes glowing faintly with the presence of her wolf. Her steps were steady, slow…but heavy with the years of pain she carried.
The guards bowed slightly at her presence, but she paid them no mind. Her world at that moment was Williams—standing broken, confused, and desperate at the border he was no longer worthy to cross.
Williams swallowed hard. He had imagined hundreds of possible encounters, but none prepared him for the storm standing before him.
Isabella was not the trembling, soft-spoken she-wolf he once manipulated. She stood tall, shoulders squared, her aura sharpened like a blade forged in fire.
“Isabella…” Williams started.
“Don’t call my name,” she snapped sharply. “Not with that same mouth you used to condemn me. Not with that same voice that turned the entire pack against me.”
Williams lowered his gaze, gritting his teeth. “I came to make peace, Isabella. I came to—”
“To what?” Isabella lifted a brow. “To lie again? To justify what you did? To pretend you suddenly have a heart?”
“I’m not pretending!” he shouted, chest rising heavily. “I regret everything, Isabella. Every word. Every action. Every single moment I allowed Norah to cloud my judgment.”
Isabella laughed, but it wasn’t the sweet laugh Desmond loved. No—this was hollow, cold, wounded. The laugh of someone who no longer expected goodness from him.
“Norah didn’t force you to destroy my life,” she said quietly. “You did that all by yourself. You hated the fact that I wasn’t yours. You hated that my wolf rejected your touches. And you hated—most of all—that I loved someone else.”
Williams clenched his fists. He wanted to speak, but Isabella continued.
“You made me a criminal in my own home. You let your pack spit at me, curse me, accuse me of sins I never committed. You called me unworthy when you knew I carried life inside me.”
Her voice broke for a moment, just a flicker—but she caught herself quickly.
“And even after all that, you still dare to stand here and say you want peace?”
Williams took a step toward her, but the guards blocked his path. He raised a hand, motioning them away.
“Let her speak,” he murmured. “I deserve to hear everything.”
“You deserve far worse,” Isabella whispered.
Silence settled between them. The forest seemed to quiet itself, listening.
Williams exhaled shakily. “I didn’t come here to fight you, Isabella. I came for you… and for our heir.”
Isabella’s wolf snarled within her, and her eyes flashed gold.
“Our heir?” she repeated dangerously. “You lost every right to claim that child the moment you cast me out. The moment you doubted me. The moment you let me bleed alone in the woods like a rogue.”
“That was never my intention,” Williams argued, stepping forward. “You think I didn’t suffer? You think I didn’t search for you after that day? I was broken, confused—”
“You were weak,” Isabella corrected sharply. “And your weakness destroys everything it touches.”
Williams’ jaw tightened. “I won’t deny it. I failed you. But I will not fail again.”
Isabella scoffed. “You already have.”
He reached out a hand toward her, not touching her, but close enough that the gesture begged.
“Isabella, come back home. Help me restore what is left of the pack. They trusted you once—”
“They never trusted me,” she cut in. “They worshipped Norah and followed your every command like blind sheep.”
Williams swallowed. “Then help me rebuild. With you as the Luna you were destined to be. With you by my side, there is nothing we can’t fix.”
She stepped back as though his words were poison.
“You still don’t understand, do you?” she murmured.
Williams stared at her, confused.
“You think my dream was ever to be Luna of your pack?” Isabella asked softly. “You think I ever wanted that life? You think the position mattered to me?”
“It should,” Williams said quietly. “You were born for greatness, Isabella.”
“I was born for love,” she corrected. “Something you never gave me. Something you don’t even understand.”
Williams clenched his jaw again. “I understand enough to know that I can’t let you go. Not again.”
“But you already lost me,” Isabella said gently. “Long ago.”
His breathing hitched. “No. I refuse to accept that.”
Isabella placed her hand on her abdomen, smiling faintly. “I found someone who loved me even when he didn’t understand me. Someone who treated me like a treasure and not a tool. Someone who didn’t need to force loyalty or fear into the hearts of those around him.”
Her voice softened, but it carried a strength Williams could never match.
“I love Desmond,” she said clearly. “I have loved him long before I knew the meaning of the word. And I will continue to love him every day of my life.”
Williams felt his heart drop into an emptiness he hadn’t known was possible.
“I will not leave him,” Isabella continued. “Not for a title, not for pity, and certainly not for you.”
Williams’ eyes glossed with a pain he tried to hide, but failed.
“You hate me that much?” he asked in a whisper.
Isabella shook her head slowly. “No,” she said honestly. “Hate requires energy. Anger requires passion. My heart no longer holds any of that for you.”
Her next words were colder than any hatred.
“All I feel for you now… is nothing.”
That struck him harder than any physical blow.
He struggled to breathe, fought for words, but none came.
“I don’t want revenge,” Isabella added when he remained silent. “I don’t want your pack. I don’t want to rebuild anything with you. My life is with Desmond now. My future is with him. My child belongs to the man whose love awakened strength in me—not the one who buried it.”
Williams steadied himself, clinging desperately to the last shred of hope.
“I will not stop,” he said finally, voice hoarse.
“I will not give up on us. I will make sure you return to me. I will prove myself. I will show you I can be the Alpha you need, the mate destiny intended—”
“Destiny?” Isabella laughed again. This time, it was broken but firm.
“Destiny never chose you for me. Destiny brought me to Desmond.”
Williams’ wolf snarled inside him, shaking his control.
“You think you can challenge fate?” he demanded.
“I already have,” she said. “And fate bowed.”
The wind howled around them as her aura flared, powerful, ancient, awakened.
Williams took a step back instinctively.
“You can fight,” Isabella told him.
“You can beg. You can plot. You can destroy everything around you trying to reach me. But I will never belong to you. Not now, not in another life, not in another world.”
Her final words shattered him completely.
“I chose Desmond. And I will choose him again and again, until time itself falls apart.”
There was no scream, no attack, no dramatic ending. Just reality—sharp, undeniable, final.
Isabella turned her back on Williams.
The ultimate rejection.
Williams staggered, gripping his chest, breath shaking, wolf howling inside him in agony.
“Isabella… please…” he whispered.
She didn’t look back.
“Don’t open the border,” she ordered the guards.
“Let him leave before he loses what remains of his dignity.”
And with that, Isabella walked away—toward her real home, her real mate, her real future.
Leaving Williams in the ruins of everything he once believed he controlled.
William left with hope of returning.
" He was at the border today " she said to Desmond whom she lay her head on his laps.
" William.?" He asked so cold.
" Yes." She answered.
" I won't want him to step his foot here.
Whatever that have made him shameless should as well give him shame. Let his guilt judge him, and let his actions point his sins before him." Desmond said.
" I pray he shouldn't step his foot here again, else I will personally treat him the way he had treated me in the past." Isaballe sworn.
Her stomach cried, and she felt like throwing up.
" Excuse me." Isabella stood up and ran to the bathroom where she thrown up.
Desmond watched her behind, with smile he said.
" She is actually carrying my child."
Isabella leaving the bathroom stood with smile.
" You won." She said to him.
" The romantic night have yield results." Isabella added.
