Family union
"Ria, the daughter of Alpha Luis, is coming to the festival," Alvin said to Max.
"Let her know that we have reserved a special spot for her and her family," Max replied.
"Alpha Derick's daughter is ready to bring her pack under your leadership," Alvin added. "These are the documents, and this is the contract for the marriage."
Alvin passed the documents to Max.
"She is ready to be your Luna, and the elders are happy if you accept this union. They believe it will strengthen the bond between our packs and ensure a prosperous future for both. The festival will be the perfect opportunity to announce this momentous occasion to everyone." Alvin continued, and Max's gaze darkened as he looked at the documents in his hands. He knew that accepting this union would mean taking on a great responsibility, not just as the Alpha of his own pack, but now as the Alpha of another. The weight of the decision settled heavily on his shoulders as he considered the potential consequences and benefits for both packs.
"Just tell them I'm not interested. I'm ready to announce Aira as my Luna." Alvin sighed, understanding the weight of Max's decision.
"Really? You mean it. She will be so happy. I mean, it is good for you both, rather than torturing yourself from a distance and for other reasons. She deserves Luna. I'm happy for you, Maxin. Alvin paused, his voice filled with genuine happiness for his friend.
"You talk a lot. sometimes, Alvin," Max chuckled, appreciating his friend's enthusiasm. "But I appreciate your support. It means a lot to me." Alvin grinned, knowing that their friendship would only grow stronger now that Max had made his decision.
"Did you tell her? That you are accepting her and that you want to be with her?" Alvin asked eagerly, wanting to know if Max had finally confessed his feelings to Luna.
Max nodded, a shy smile spreading across his face. "No, I will talk to her today. Her family is coming today. I want to make sure I have the right moment to express my feelings and make it special for her," Max replied, his excitement evident in his voice. Alvin nodded understandingly, knowing how important this was for Max and wishing him the best of luck.
"As for Alpha Derick's daughter, divert her to Robin; he can handle her. And their packs are beside each other. If they agree to the union, then we have nothing to worry about."
Robin, Alpha of the Lockheart Pack, is Max's childhood friend. They are tight. and have always supported each other. Max knew he could trust Robin to handle the situation with care and ensure a smooth conversation with Alpha Dericks' daughter. With their strong bond and the support of their packs, Max felt confident that everything would work out in their favor.
"Alpha Robin is in search of his mate. This year, he ordered us to line up all the girls at age 18 in our pack. I don't think he will be interested in Alpha Derick's daughter."
Max knew that despite Robin's search for his mate, he would still prioritize their friendship and handle the conversation with Alpha Dericks' daughter professionally. Additionally, Max believed that even if Robin wasn't interested in her, they could still find a way to collaborate and resolve the situation amicably.
"Don't worry, he can handle her," Max reassured himself, confident in Robin's ability to handle any situation with grace and respect.
The pack is bustling with people, and Max has made sure that security is ten times tighter than usual. He wanted to ensure the safety of everyone, especially in the presence of Alpha and their people. Max had assigned extra guards and implemented stricter protocols to maintain order and protect their pack members.
The Aira family has arrived, and they have settled in Alpha Mansion. Ralph and Thomas arrived with Ria as her security and diplomats.
Max planned to invite Ria so that Aira could have a chance to meet her family.
"Brother, I missed you." Aira was overjoyed to see Ralph and Thomas. She hugged them tightly, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity in their presence. The reunion brought a wave of happiness as the family gathered together after being apart for so long.
"How are things here? I heard Alpha Max gave you a new identity." Ralph asked,
"Yes, Max has been very generous in providing us with new identities and a haven here in Alpha Mansion," Ralph replied.
"We are here with Ria; we will make sure she will not meet you," Thomas explained that they were keeping Ria away to ensure Aira's safety and avoid any potential danger.
"Ria had sent men in search of Aira, and we don't want to take any chances," Thomas added. "But don't worry, we have everything under control, and we're doing everything we can to keep you safe." Ralph nodded, relieved to hear that they were taking precautions. "I trust you guys," Aira said.
"How are Grandpa, Aunt Uncle, and Fred?"
"They are all safe. Grandpa gave me this pendant for you." Thomas replied, and Aira smiled, accepting the box and opening it carefully. Inside was a beautiful pendant with intricate designs. "It's stunning," Aira exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Please tell them I miss them and that I'm safe here." Thomas nodded and assured her that he would pass along the message.
"I will check on Ria. Thomas, you stay with Aira. If I need anything, I'll mind the link." Ralph patted Aira's head and left the room.
After Ralph left, Thomas pulled Aira, looking into her eyes, and asked, "Alpha Max, is your mate?" Aira's heart skipped a beat as she looked back into Thomas's eyes, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Yes," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"He did not accept you or reject you." Thomas's question hung in the air, causing a momentary silence between them. Aira hesitated before responding; her voice was filled with vulnerability. "He hasn't made his decision yet," she admitted, her gaze dropping slightly.
"Now he is looking for Luna candidates. He wants to ensure that he chooses the right Luna for his pack." Thomas nodded understandingly, his grip on Aira's hand tightening slightly. "I understand," he said softly, his voice filled with empathy. "Just know that no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you." Aira smiled gratefully, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her. "Thank you, Thomas," she whispered, walking away from his sitting on the bed.
"Maybe you can escape from this pack; tomorrow he will declare his Luna candidate, and everyone will be busy, leaving the pack vulnerable for a brief moment. We could use that opportunity to make your escape unnoticed." Thomas looked at Aira, his eyes filled with determination. "I won't let you face this alone," he declared, his voice firm. "We'll come up with a plan together and make sure you're safe." Aira felt a surge of hope as she realized she had someone by her side who truly cared.
"I don't want to run away anymore. If he accepts, okay, or else he needs to reject me. If he doesn't, he will hunt me down in the packs. I would rather face the consequences than live in fear and hiding. I want to take a stand for myself and find my own path, no matter how difficult it may be." Aira said it with determination in her voice.
"You are thinking of rejecting him?" As the realization hit Thomas, "Yes." Aira nodded, her resolve unwavering. "I've spent far too long sacrificing my happiness for the sake of others. It's time for me to prioritize myself and my well-being." Thomas looked at her with admiration, understanding the weight of her decision.
"Rejecting an Alpha can cause death from heartbreak. Thanks to the moon goddess, you don't have a wolf.
"He needs a strong Luna for his pack; I will be his weakness. " Tears filled Aira's eyes as she averted her gaze from Thomas.
Thomas reached out and gently lifted Aira's chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "You are not weak, Aira. You are brave and deserving of happiness."
"It is hurting here, brother. He confuses me every time with his love and hate. All my life, I waited for acceptance. I don't want to be hurt anymore." Thomas sighed, his expression filled with understanding. "I know it's difficult, but you deserve someone who loves you unconditionally, without causing you pain. You deserve to be accepted for who you are."
"After rejecting him, I will take him to a friend of mine. She will help you heal. Then you decide what to do. If you want to stay here, I will support you and help you find a way to be happy. Remember, you have the power to choose what is best for yourself and your well-being."
Aira nodded in understanding and wiped away a tear. "Thank you, Thomas. I appreciate your support and guidance. It's comforting to know that I have someone who believes in me and wants the best for me."
"How did you know that he is my mate?" Aira asked with a quizzical look on her face. Thomas smiled gently and replied, "I've seen the way he looks at you, Aira. The way his eyes light up when you're around, the way he always seems to be there for you. It's clear that he cares deeply about you and wants to be a part of your life. Trust your instincts, my little bunny, they rarely lead us astray."
"Hmm, I know that look. It just gives me hope to be with him. I cannot be a fool right now, living in my own delusion." Thomas nodded understandingly. "I understand your hesitation, Aira. It's important to be cautious and not rush into anything."
They both sat in silence for a few minutes. Thomas stood up and made some instant coffee for both of them.
"Fred found his mate, and he is going to father in a few months," Thomas said, sipping his coffee.
"wow! That's a piece of great news. He is faster than we thought. I'm happy for him," Aira replied, a smile spreading across her face. "I guess it just goes to show that everyone's journey is different, and we shouldn't compare ourselves to others." Thomas nodded in agreement, taking another sip of his coffee. "Exactly, Aira. We all have our own paths and timing in life. Our happiness will come when the time is right."
"He left our pack and joined the Lockheart pack; he is assigned as head of a weapon design branch. It is good that he found his freedom soon. Though he was reluctant, Alpha Robin convinced him. He has a good home and a safe place to live. " Thomas said it with a smile. "It's amazing how things work out when we trust the process and follow our instincts. I'm glad he found his place in the Lockheart pack and is thriving in his new role."
After a moment of silence, he said, "Kathy and her mate were killed; they were sliced into pieces. " Aira's eyes widened in shock. "Ria made sure to torture Kathy before her death; I'm sorry you had to hear that. Ralph told me not to tell you about this. Ria is not an easy person when it comes to revenge. I'm worried about your safety." Aira's heart raced as she processed the horrifying news. She knew she had to take precautions and stay vigilant, understanding the gravity of Ria's vengeful nature.
"It is said by one of the guards that Kathy confessed that she changed the drinks and you were just helping the waitress. I hope Ria is convinced of your innocence and doesn't seek revenge against you." Aira's mind raced with thoughts of how to protect herself from Ria's wrath. She couldn't help but wonder if Kathy's confession would be enough to convince Ria of her innocence and spare her from any retaliatory actions.
As Thomas left Aira in the afternoon to accompany Ria, Aira couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew that being alone made her more vulnerable to any potential retaliation from Ria. Aira was drowned into tears thinking about her friend.
