Chapter 74: The family union
Later in the evening, the party took full swing as the DJ played the latest hits and guests danced enthusiastically on the crowded dance floor. The atmosphere was electric, with colorful lights flashing and confetti falling from the ceiling, creating a truly immersive experience for everyone in attendance.
Every girl in the pack got ready for Ladies' Night. They put on their best outfits, styled their hair, and applied glamorous makeup to ensure they looked their absolute best. The anticipation grew as they arrived at the venue, excited to dance the night away and make unforgettable memories with their friends.
Chloe and Aira arrived at the party at peak hour. They sat at an empty table with a perfect view of the dance floor. Zara and Olivia are dancing.to the beat of the music, their bodies moving in sync with each other and the pulsating rhythm. The energy in the room is contagious, with everyone letting loose and embracing the freedom of the night. As they dance, laughter fills the air and friendships are strengthened, creating a sense of camaraderie that will last long after the music stops.
"All the girls here are gathered for Alpha Robin; he wants to find his mate today. He's been searching for his mate for years, and tonight he's determined to find his mate." Chloe said pointing towards the VIP room on the second floor. Many single Alpha's are looking at the crowd of girls gathered today.
Steven's eyes landed on Aira as he looked at her with intense desire. Aira diverted her gaze. "Can a wolf see in the dark?" Aira's question hung in the air: "Yes, Alpha's can, and many worriers can. WHY?"
"Nothing. Just curious." Aira said, sipping her juice. Chloe made sure Aira wouldn't mix her drink with their Warewolf brand.
"Why are you not dancing?" Aira asked Chloe. "Today I'm not in the mood. I just want to observe the crowd and see if anyone catches my eye," Chloe replied with a shrug.
"Hmm," Aira said. They both sat in silence as they watched the crowd swing their bodies for the songs.
Zara came back from the dance floor and plopped down next to Aira and Chloe. "You guys are missing out! The energy out there is amazing," she exclaimed, catching her breath.
"Drink some water," Aira suggested, concerned about Zara's well-being. "You've been dancing for a while now, and it's important to stay hydrated," she added, pointing towards the bottle.
Zara gulped the water and ordered the waiter to bring mini burgers for them. As they waited for the food to arrive, Chloe turned to Zara and asked, "So, did you find anyone interesting?"
"Nope, no one. I found out some interesting gossip." Zara smirked mischievously, leaning in closer to Chloe. "Alpha is going to declare his Luna tomorrow at the closing ceremony," she whispered, excitement evident in her voice. "I overheard it from a friend of a friend. Can you believe it?" Chloe's eyes widened in surprise as she leaned in even closer, eager to hear all the juicy details.
"Alpha Derick's daughter is ready to bring her pack under our Alpha's rule. They even gave him a marriage contract. It is said Alpha is going to accept her as Luna." Chloe gasped, her mind racing with thoughts of the implications this would have for their pack. "If Alpha accepts her as Luna, it could mean a major shift in power dynamics within our pack," she whispered, barely containing her excitement. "I wonder how the other pack members will react to this news."
"True, we can get a chance to explore their pack to find our mates," they both giggled, ignoring Aira's pale, sad face.
Aira couldn't breathe and excused herself, saying, "I'll go to the restroom." As Aira excused herself to go to the restroom, Chloe and her friend continued to discuss the potential impact of Alpha accepting her as Luna. They wondered if the other pack members would be supportive or resistant to the change in power dynamics.
Aira walked out of the club; tears streamed down her cheek as she randomly walked in an unknown direction. She knew that he would choose someone better than her. She is the weakest girl in the whole pack, and she is his fated mate. "I hate myself for being weak," she whispered. Feeling overwhelmed by her insecurities, Aira couldn't help but question her worthiness as Alpha's fated mate. Doubt consumed her thoughts as she yearned for the strength and confidence that seemed to elude her.
She lost her strength in her legs, collapsed on the floor, and let out a deep, gut-wrenching sob. The weight of her perceived inadequacy crushed her, leaving her feeling utterly defeated and alone at that moment.
"I will reject him, and you will witness it," she said, looking at the moon. "You never gave me a good life, took away my parents, made me run away from my pack, and now you expect me to believe that I am worthy of being an Alpha's mate?" Aira's voice trembled with a mix of anger and despair. The moon remained silent, casting its pale glow upon her as if offering solace in its quiet presence.
"Everyone said to believe in the moon goddess for miracles; today I believe in me for making my life better," Aira declared, her voice growing stronger. She took a deep breath, feeling a newfound determination coursing through her veins. "I will forge my path and prove that I am more than worthy of being an Alpha's mate, with or without his approval." The moon continued to shine down on her, its gentle light serving as a reminder of the strength she carried within herself.
"Aira," Thomas called her from across the clearing, "what happened, sister?" Aira turned towards Thomas; her eyes were filled with tears, swollen from the weight of her emotions. "He is going to declare his Luna tomorrow, and she is an Alpha's daughter." Thoma's heart sank as he heard the news. "Are you sure about the news?" Aira nodded, her voice trembling with sadness. "They were making plans for the ceremony; at the closing ceremony, he would make her his Luna." Thomas clenched his fists, a mix of anger and determination filling his eyes. "Oh, my dear. I cannot bear to see you suffer like this. We will find a way to stop this from happening, I promise." Aira looked at Thomas with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, grateful for his unwavering support. "Thank you, Thomas. I don't want you to do anything. I think if he marks her tomorrow, then the mate bond will be nothing."Thomas reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair away from Aira's face.
"Will you stay here to watch everything or come with me to take time to heal?" Aira hesitated for a moment, contemplating her options. She knew that staying to witness the marking would only prolong her pain, but she also didn't want to miss any chance of finding a solution. Finally, she made up her mind and looked into Thomas' eyes. "I'll come with you," she said softly. "I need time away from all of this to heal and think clearly."
"Okay, then I will take you tomorrow during the closing ceremony. Let's leave this place behind and focus on finding a way to heal your wounds." Thomas replied, his voice filled with determination. Aira nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that with Thomas by her side, she would have a better chance of finding the answers she sought.
That night Max did not return to Aira; he was busy with other Alpha's behaving like a good host. He hated being with them, yet he had no choice. Max's absence left Aira feeling a mix of disappointment and gratitude. She was relieved to have some time alone to process her thoughts and emotions, but she also missed his comforting presence.
"Tomorrow, all this will be over," Aira whispered to herself, determined to push through the challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead. She closed her eyes, envisioning a future where she finally had the answers she had been desperately seeking.
"Kathy's death is a war for Aira," Ralph said with a solemn tone, his voice breaking the silence in the room. The news of Kathy's death had shaken everyone, but for Aira, it served as a stark reminder of the dangers they were all facing.
"I underestimated Ria. Tomorrow I will deliver Aira to my mate at the closing ceremony." Max said, his voice filled with determination.
"That will attract more attention to her. She will be targeted for every Alpha out there. " Ralph knew that Max's declaration would not only solidify their bond but also put Aira in a vulnerable position.
"Then the whole pack will be ready to defend their Luna. We are the second largest pack, and we have the strength to protect her," Max replied confidently. "Besides, Aira is strong, and together we will ensure her safety." Ralph nodded, understanding Max's point. However, he couldn't shake off the nagging worry that their actions might attract more danger than they anticipated.
After the discussion, Ralph excused himself and said, "Ralph, don't tell her. I want it to be a surprise for her. I will accept her as my mate in front of my whole pack in the closing ceremony, and the next day we will have the Luan ceremony." Ralph agreed to keep the plan a secret, knowing that the surprise would bring joy to Aira. He couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension as he left the room, wondering how Aira would react when she found out about their declaration.
The next day, Aira received a beautiful dress from Max. It was a purple dress laced with intricate patterns and adorned with delicate embroidery. The dress was a symbol of their upcoming ceremony. As she held the dress in her hands, a sense of anticipation filled her heart. She picked up the card and said, "Can't wait to see you on this special day. Love, Midnight." Aira's eyes welled up with tears, thinking about the ceremony.
'He did not tell us that the girl is his Luna. He wants you. Don't make wrong decisions.' Her inner voice is screaming in pain.
'He always told me that I'm weak; he even told me that he needs a strong Luna for his pack,' she said.to herself, trying to rationalize her conflicting emotions. The weight of the dress in her hands felt heavier now as if it carried the weight of their uncertain future together. She took a deep breath, determined to find her own strength and make a decision that would ultimately bring her happiness.
She got ready in the dress and walked out of her room. As she walked down the hallway, her heart pounded with anticipation and nerves. She knew that whatever decision she made, would change the course of her life forever. With each step, she reminded herself that she deserved love and respect and that her happiness should always come first.
"Your dress is so special," Rosy said with a smile as she caught sight of her friend. "You look stunning," she added, admiring the way the dress accentuated her features.
"Woah! Girl, all the boys will just ignore us," Zara exclaimed. "You look stunning," Olivia said with a smile.
"I think Beta Alvin is taking extra care of you. This dress is absolutely stunning. It suits your body. And it makes you look even more confident and radiant." Rosy and Olivia nodded in agreement, both impressed by how the dress seemed to bring out the best in her. As they continued to compliment her, she couldn't help but feel a surge of self-assurance and gratitude for having such supportive friends.
"Thank you. Let's go. The ceremony is about to start," Aira said, feeling a newfound sense of confidence. Olivia and Rosy linked arms with her, ready to face the event together. They walked towards the ceremony, excited for what was to come.
"You are a killer. Don't walk beside me. No one will notice me." Chloe said with a playful smirk, teasingly nudging Aira. Aira laughed and playfully pushed Chloe back, feeling even more confident and ready to take on the world with her friends by her side.
