Jessica brows knitted, she couldn’t wrap a finger around it  and the same goes for Adriana, “What the fuck are you talking about Mom? Julia is dead!” Jessica shrilled.

Mrs Alberto shook her head and waved the DNA test results in her hand, she started walking closer to Jessica, “I don’t know why you lied about that to me but I have taken the right way to amend this between you two,” She breathed.

Jessica glowered, “ What the fuck are you trying to say mom? Don’t tell me….” Jessica shook her head and averted her gaze at Adriana.

“Yes, Adriana is your blood sister,” Mrs Alberto announced making the gun with Jessica almost break into pieces and looking lost.

The corner of Adriana’s eyes crinkled, “Can, Can, someone tell me what’s going on here? Why am I Jessica’s sister?” Adriana asked croakily

Then Mrs Alberto walked to Adriana, “I’m sorry child, I’m sorry I came late for you. You’re my daughter and dropped you with Gina and her husband, I’m sorry for abandoning you,” She gulped.

Tears shimmered in Adriana’s eyes, “Why,, why are you just coming for me now? I,, I waited for so long! You left me…” Adriana blubbered 

Mrs Alberto held her hand with so much care, “I’m here, I’m sure Jessica won’t dare hurt you, She’s your sister,” Mrs Alberto assured her.

Miguel seized this opportunity to help his kids out, he released them from where Jessica had tied the three of them, when he got out of the building with the kids, he saw the police van coming in.

One of them came out, “Good day sir, we received a report about a gunshot coming from this building,” The man asked.

Miguel swallowed nothing and handed the kids to them, “The whole thing-“ He hasn’t finished talking when another gunshot was heard.

Miguel squinted his eyes, “A-Adriana!” He ran back towards the building like a maniac despite the policemen warning him not to go while the policemen surrounded the building.

Mrs Alberto gasped when Jessica suddenly fired her gun into the air, “What are you doing!” She shrieked.

Jessica scoffed, “Do you think I’m in for this mother and daughter thing? It sucks!”

“You should be happy about your sister returning, aren’t you?” Mrs Alberto asked 

Jessica eyes flickered with tears and she pointed her gun at Adriana’s head, “You act like I  don’t exist mom! All you do is care for that numskull! I’m your daughter too. You should love me too, I,,”

“I’m sorry Jessica, I’m sorry if that’s how you felt. I just wanted us to reunite with Julia that’s why I searched so hard for her,” Mrs Alberto beseeched.

Jessica snarled, “No! It’s because you hate me! You think I can’t do anything without the help of a sister! You just proved that to me despite telling you Julia is dead, you still went ahead to find her!”  She yelled.

“Come on, Jessica, Don’t do what you’re going to regret for your entire life, Drop the gun,” Mrs Alberto persuaded.

“Let’s just end it all!” Jessica pulled the trigger and the bullet came rolling towards Adriana’s forehead.

Adriana eyes were wide open as she waited for her death but, a figure got in the way and took the bullet in her stead.

Her eyes swam with tears, “Mom,,Mom?” She called for the first time. 

Mrs Alberto collapsed to the floor swimming in a pool of her own blood, “Jessica,,,” She muttered before passing out.

Jessica hissed orderly, “Did you see what you caused! You deserve nothing but death!” She accused Adriana who was still crying.

Jessica pulled the trigger once again but no bullet came out, “fuck!” She went back to her bag to take a spare and when she insert it into the gun, ready to fire.

“Say your last prayer, Adriana,” She muttered with a smirk.

“I’m afraid to say that you should be the one saying your last prayers,” A husky voice of Miguel said and immediately it followed with a gunshot at   Jessica’s back.

Jessica collapsed on the floor, a tear escaped her eyes and her eyes closed afterwards, the policemen ran in as they surveyed the area.

Two ambulance were called over, one took Mrs Alberto to the hospital and the other one took Jessica.

Adriana was still trembling from the shock, “My mom,,, is she going to be okay?” Adriana cried holding tight to Miguel’s shirt.

Miguel kissed her hair, “I’m sure she’s going to be fine. Everything will be perfectly okay,” Miguel whispered softly.

“I don’t think I’d be able to live with it if anything happens to her. She has a lot to answer,” Adriana mumbled controlling her tears.

“Don’t speak negatively, I believe she’s going to survive it,” Miguel assured her.

The Ambulance taking Jessica has not gotten to the hospital when Jessica’s eyes slightly opens, “All I wanted was love…Why, why me?” She weakly muttered and tear popped out till her eyes closed, her hand rolled out flat signifying she has stopped breathing.
