CHAPTER FIFTY TWO
Damian's POV.
Stepping out of that room was the breath I needed, still surprised by what I had done, I let the thought hang on for a while, while I tried to catch my breath when someone closed my eyes from behind.
"Who's that?" I asked, my mind brewing a storm from my infuriation.
"Just guess who it is." The voice sounded, feminine and tiny, I took a deep breath as I stood still.
"I'm not in for all these games," I said, my hands in my pocket, I had managed to make my tone very even so as not to unleash another alpha voice by mistake.
"Come on, just guess it this one time." It spoke again, amidst giggles.
"The game is over then." I said, taking my hands from my pocket and pulling the hands of my eyes, then dragging the person in front of me, "Susanne, what are you doing?" I asked.
"You're no fun." She said, "Only a guessing game and you've taken it seriously like it was a threat." She continued in a way I would say she was joking, I only looked at her as she continued ranting about how no fun I was.
"I don't have time for this," I replied to her and tried to turn away when I felt her hand wrap around my arms, pulling me backward.
"Tell me what's wrong, Damian?" She said as pulled me back, wrapping me into a hug while she rubbed one of her hands over my chest.
"Nothing is wrong." I answered her, "And what are you trying to do?" I asked her as she pulled her away, keeping a distance between the both of us.
"I'm just trying to check in with you." She answered as she bit her lips, "I never knew it was a bad thing to check on you." She continued, her shoulders dropping as she kept a sad face.
"I never said it was a bad thing, moreover, what's the sudden check-up on me?" I tried to defend myself while asking her more questions.
"With all the recent things happening, I felt you needed someone by you and I'm volunteering myself." She answered.
"I don't need that, thank you," I replied to her, turning away to walk from her when she held me back.
"I even brought food for you, but I didn't see you in your room." She said, I turned towards her angrily, "I didn't mean anything." She hastily added.
"You're being a nuisance to me right." I said, almost growling, "I never gave you permission to come into my private life." I continued threateningly, towering over her as I walked closer to her, "Don't you ever try that again." I ended my statement with my nostril flaring. I could feel the heat in my lips.
"It's fine if that's what you want." She answered with a seductive smile while rubbing her hands on my chest, the warmth spreading across, I could feel my temper rise to meet its challenge, "What would you want me to get you?" She coolly added, using her free hand to open her top button to reveal her cleavage.
"I want you to leave me alone." I growled, pushing her hand away, "Don't try that again." I repeated my earlier warning.
"Is that what you want?" She asked, I could hear the tremors in her voice as she asked, her fingers in her mouth.
"Yes!" I part screamed and part growled, she stumbled backward, almost dropping to her bum as she tried to get away from me, her eyes watery, she sniffled and turned away, breaking in a run like a dog that had been chastised by its Master, its tail between its legs. I take a deep breath before I walk down to my room, opening the door to find it empty, no one in the room. "Thought I had told Alan to watch over her," I muttered as I shut the door.
"Anya!" I called out, already scared she had been dragged back to her cell, I walked further into the room when the sound of the running shower hit me, "Oh!' I exclaimed, taking a walk to my balcony to watch the setting sun when Alan came to me.
"I heard you calling her." He said as he stood close to me, he had come as quietly as a shadow.
"Yeah, I thought something had happened to her," I answered him while I played with my hands, my eyes still on the horizon.
"What happened during the meeting?" He asked, going to lean on the rail, his eyes probably on the horizon too, I join him to lean on it.
"The same thing we had talked about," I answered him honestly.
"But you wouldn't tell me the details so she can't drag out of me." He said, turning to look at me
"You understand me well." I said with a chuckle, he smiled, "What other thing do you know about me?" I asked jokingly, he chuckled then.
"Nothing much." He answered, Anya, coming to the balcony at that moment, "I'll be taking my leave then." He said on seeing Anya, leaving just her and me on the balcony.
"So, what happened?" She asked about seeing Alan leave.
"No, nothing happened, he was just leaving," I answered.
"You know what I'm talking about." She countered immediately, leaning on the railing with her back against it, with folded arms.
"I don't know what you're talking about," I replied, folding my hands too, relaxing partially on the door, it opened slightly.
"Why?" She asked, shrugging her shoulders.
"Because nothing happened out there." I answer her, almost screaming, "How can she be frustrating me at this moment?" I could only ask myself in my thoughts.
"Oh!?" She exclaimed, "It's now a battle to tell me what happened in there?" She asked, furious by my stance not to tell her.
"You can ask anyone you wish to." I put it simply, getting the answers from me wasn't going to be that easy.
"You refusing to tell me what happened just proves it more that I was the topic of the discussion in that room." She almost growled at me, throwing her hands in the air, I kept quiet, and she stopped for a while to catch her breath.
"Your ranting won't make me tell you anything if I don't want to tell you." I retorted, pushing myself from the wall I leaned on and turned to leave.
"Yeah, walk away, that's all you can do, walk away." She replied, folding her hands around her body as she turned away from me, turning towards the side of the house.
"Stop it, just stop it," I said, turning back to her I walked to where she was, silence pervading the air, she continued to look away, I return back to the railing, watching over it
