CHAPTER FORTY

Anya's POV.

I headed back to my room as running away was never an option, it was to face my new fate, Death. If Susanne could know my true crime, then she would be watching my every move, ensuring I never step a foot outside the pack house.

"What have I done?" I mutter to myself as I move stealthily back into my room, flinging the bag onto my bed, well, I have no remorse, killing the Alpha had been my main aim, the rest secondary, I sighed, "If death was the only thing to come, then I gladly waited for it, only for their faces to flash before my eyes, I breakdown immediately, "What would they be thinking of me?" I asked myself, "They would see me as a bad person." I concluded, feeling my skin begin to crawl and itch.

I crawl to the bathroom, determine to was any inch of dirt they would find on me, scrubbing and scrubbing until I feel my skin redden, only to heal seconds later, the procedure repeating itself until I fall asleep, waking up to see both of them in front of me, I'd admit, I would have wanted to be dead before they came before me as I pushed myself from Damian.

"I have something to tell you," I told them as they had both agreed that they weren't going to be mad at me.

"I killed your father," I said, keeping my straight as even as possible, raising my head to meet their gaze, my scattered hair in front of me, blurring my view, but I could see the downcast look on Damian's face as he turned away, Daemon stood still for a while before talking, the sleeves of his hand stand with blood, probably mine from the bathtub.

"You should have told us." He said, sitting down on the bed beside me, "Why did you do so? What did he do to deserve such from you?" He asked, his voice way calmer than I had expected.

"Annihilation," I answered him.

"Annihilation? How? I don't get it." Damian asked, pushing closer to me and wrapping his hands around me, and pulling me in for a cuddle, I resisted for some moments before giving in, ashamed to be too close to them.

"He had annihilated my pack, taking anyone alive as prisoners of war," I replied to them, the images flashing in front of me as my mind rewound to the past as I sat under the table, my father fighting against the Alpha, wolf to wolf, claws clashing, my mother dashing into the house to aid my dad out when the bullet hit, my mom's head decapitated from her body before her body hit the ground, my father screaming on seeing the event as the Alpha bathed in her blood, he charged as more bullets were fired into his body, unable to heal quickly, he fell to his knee in front of the alpha, a smile on the Alpha's face as he raised his hand, my father's head falling away from his shoulders as his claws came down, the blood spraying on him from the exposed neck.

"Search the room, take anyone alive as a prisoner." He had said without turning around to find any himself, I hid still for a while under the debris of the battle before I was found out, the men snarling and grinning as they pulled me away like they had won a wonderful prize, the unwanton destruction, an eyesore as bodies laid around our house, all mutilated, most with their head ripped off and body scatter you wouldn't recognize whose head belong to, I tried to recall most to tell them, they sat still as they heard what I was saying from my recollection.

"We didn't know," Daemon said, his eyes filmy, he made an attempt to leave the bed, and I held him by the corner of his shirt, pinning him down to the bed.

"I'm not done yet." I said before continuing." I stayed in the pack for a while as a slave, not like the menial servant, as one very beautiful it wasn't called a conquest anymore, spending more and more time with your father until he felt I was docile to be his bride, young and beautiful was the keyword, your father's new price." I continued, seeing both their faces wrinkle anytime I related to the alpha as their father, "It was enough for me as I found a means to poison him, slowly and in a trace amount that no one would detect, expecting the doctor not to, almost unfortunately he had." I said, raising my head, my eyes sparkling on recalling how I had made the mighty fallen.

"If the doctor had noticed, why didn't he report to the pack beta?" Damian asked, I chuckled a bit at his question before I continued.

"He did report, but he reported to me, his mistake as I offered him a mouthwatering deal he couldn't reject." I said with a sinister smile hanging across my lips, or so I thought, "He brought all the progress of the poisson's effect on him, how he was aging faster than his healing could, blocking every connection to his beta until the day she was meant to die. I had gone to meet him on his deathbed, tears pouring from my eyes, not from him dying, but the tears I never shed when I saw him rip the heads of both my parents, telling him who I was and his inability to call for help or help himself due to the poison on his system, prompting a heart attack on him. I watched as he gasped for breath until he was pronounced dead by the doctor, my tears different from the tears of loss by other members of the pack." I finished my story gloriously, watching the two boys exchange gaze and sigh.

"And that was all?" Damian asked.

"Yes, that's all." I answered, and I would be ready to pay for my actions if you would kill me right this moment." I continued, raising my two hands in front of me with my head bowed.

"Don't you dare say that again?" Daemon stood speedily from the bed, his voice threateningly, "No one's going to kill you, neither us nor the council members or anyone from the pack." He said breathlessly.

"He's right." Damian concurred, "We won't be letting any one come close to you to do any harm." He continued.

"But I've caused so much pain to you." I tried to counter.

"That we know, but we wouldn't be letting our mate bear the brunt of the attack, we would be standing with you," Daemon answered.

"I feel there will be a meeting tomorrow." Damian spoke, loosening his hands from my body, "With the way she rumors spread so quickly, faster than our affair, they must have gotten an inside job and would be calling for your head to prove the rumors wrong." He continued.

"Yeah, that's right." Daemon added, "As long as there is no proof or evidence of you poisoning the Alpha, you would be considered not guilty." He continued.

"Why do you have to do this for me?" I asked as I resolved their resolve.

"We know you would do the same for us," Damian answered, Daemon nodded just as Damian turned to look at him. I have a heavy sigh, tiredness flooding my body.

"We'll be fine." Daemon said as he came close to me, kissing me on the forehead, "Stay calm." He whispered as he moved away, Damian came closer, his face directly in my face as he planted a kiss on my lips, sucking on it for a while my body actually ached for it as he pulled away.

"There's always a way." He said as he walked to where his brother was, with a little wave, both of them vanished as they closed the door behind them, leaving me to a probable gruesome fate.
