Chapter 17: Visitor

Zora's POV

Justin stood at the entrance looking lost.

"What are you doing down here?" I asked him.

"I didn't know there was a room down here, I just followed the sound of your voice." He bent down to pick the book that fell from his hand.

'Does that make any sense?' The voice in my head said. I seriously don't know. Nobody said anything and just stared at him.

"I felt bad about my outburst and wanted to apologize." He said and extended the book to me. I took it from him and he left without saying another word. Strange.

Jasmine looked from me to the book and to the direction where Justin took. Then Kenzi walked to the door and pocketed one of his hand and held his phone in the other.

"I just got a message from the Alpha and I need to head to the main pack straight away." He said to Jasmine and looked at me softly.

"I will explain everything when you are more better." He placed his hand on my shoulder and squeezed a little.

I nodded and he left followed by Marco who didn't spare me a glance.

"We have to go now, see you soon." Jasmine smiled. I wish we could talk more.

When I got to my room, I thought about what Marco said before he was forced to keep quiet. To be honest I had no recollection of that day. I definitely cannot forget about it.

When I saw the title of the book, I smiled. It was one of my favorite. I read it whenever I get confused about taking decisions or any situation. I think Justin do read my mind sometimes.

I read few pages and decided to call my mum. Luckily, the call went through and she picked after the first ring.

"Zoe, I have been so worried. You didn't call nor did you text." She said with relief. I could here Cassey's voice in the background.

"I'm sorry." I sighed and flipped through the pages of the book.

"Is everything okay?" she asked. I knew I would get caught but I didn't want to make her worry.

"Yeah and I have a lead on the orphanage you told us about." Changing the topic was the best thing for both of us.

"Really?” She squealed, talk about fast mood change.

"I'm so happy you are getting closer to your parent." She said sounding happy.

I smiled. It felt good talking to my mum.

"Yes and hopefully more good news are soon to come." I told her. We talked for a little bit before the network started tp fail.

"Tell Cassey I love him." I told her and hung up. Then I called Julia, it's been a while I saw her.

"Where the hell are you J?" I shouted when she picked up. She doesn't know anyone or any place here but she hardly stays at home.

"I'm in my room girl, I came back earlier today." She laughed.

"Missed me?" she asked. I rolled my eyes but couldn't hide my smile.

"Ofcourse, I'm damn bored in this building. We need to explore." I told her.

"Sure, give me few minutes and I will be there." She told me, then we hung up.

I took it up to myself to visit the main pack before going home. Atleast by doing so, I could have more information about werewolves. I need to tour this place and the community also for my next project in school.

Thinking about school, I miss home. But this is so important that I can't miss it for anything.

I left the room but just before getting to the west wing, I saw Julia talking to someone on phone outside her door.

Scaring her would be best in this situation. So I tiptoed to where she was standing but 4 steps before I get to her, she called my name and I paused.

"Yes, we are all there" she said again. Then replied yes to the person before she hung up.

Who was that? I thought.

'Well maybe someone we know'. I brushed it aside and did what I initially had in mind.

"J!!" I yelled. She jumped and held the place her heart is.

"Oh my goodness zoe." She shouted.

I laughed but her reaction didn't follow what I expected. She looked really shocked but laughed at the end but chased me round the house.

"Wait!!" she shouted but before I could slow down, I crashed into someone who held me and prevented me from falling.

I saw a piercing blue green eyes who looked at back without blinking. He had blonde hair, which was styled to the side. He was gorgeous.

"What a beauty." He said not to me. "What?” I said trying to stabilize myself. Are there only weirdos around here.

He helped me stand well without even looking at me.

I turned back to see who he was looking at and saw Julia's expression. Oh nice.

"Do you know him?” I asked her.

That question brought her back to reality.

"Nop" she popped the 'p' while looking at him.

"Ofcourse you do beauty" He smirked still looking at her.

"Is there something I don't know about?" I looked at my friend, who looked to be contemplating about something.

"Uhmm.." She started but was cut off by the guy.

"I like complimenting beautiful people, it's no big deal." He said and walked towards her.

She slightly stiffened, when he got to her. He stood there for few minutes looking at her before walking away.

She exhaled and looked at me like that didn't just happened.

"You have some explaination to do girl." I eyed her. She blushed.

"Oh my god" I screamed. "Julia!!" I exclaimed.

"Calm down, it's nothing." She tried to convince me.

"Now what do we have here?" a familiar voice said and I froze.

How on earth did he find me here?

"How I missed your dance." he said and casually strolled into the building with his girlfriend.
