CHAPTER 24

Cammy stared at him for a moment longer. She looked him over as she tried to figure out what game he was truly playing at. She didn't understand why he had to be so difficult or why he was intent on frustrating her.

“You know that you can't hide away from me forever. You will have to face the music eventually.” He said to her in a mocking way as he loomed towards her with a glint in his eye. She scowled at him in response as she rolled her eyes at him.

“Well that may be so but that doesn't mean that I have to entertain you or your presence you can not continue to man handle me or treat me like a piece of property. I don't know if i haven't made it clear enough to you but you should know this now that i am my own person and therefore you can't order me around or force me to do as you please.” She said to Him.

She watched as his eyes flickered with Different emotions and she couldn't help but clench her jaw as she took in the playfulness in his stare. It frustrated her to know that he was taking her words very lightly.

She took a step back as he took one step forward and attempted to close the gap between the two of them. She felt her breath hitch at the feeling of their close proximity and she watched as he smirked. “Well I don't know what it is. If it is just that stubborn head of yours or if it is something else but I am going to remind you over and over again until you realize that you are mine. And that means that I am willing to do anything and everything to get you back.” He said toher.

She felt a shiver run down her spine when she watched him lean in towards her. She hated the way that her body was still so eager and how she was still so quick to react to his touch. It betrayed her and it didn't matter how hard she tried to deny her feelings or pretend that she felt nothing for him, the feelings were still there.

“Now come on. I want to spend the day with you. We are going to go shopping”. He said to her as he pulled away from her. She looked towards him with her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she couldn't help but wonder why.

“Why?” She asked him. She watched as he shrugged his shoulders at her in response to her words. “Because that dress of yours is striking way too much and I don't think that I will be able to control my wolf. Unless you prefer me to carry you back to my room and take it off you”. He said to her in a mutter.

She gulped as she refused to respond and this caused his smirk to only grow further. “Come on Jackson. Let's get going”. He called out from above her causing her to snap out of her thoughts. Soon enough they both heard the sound of footsteps running towards them as Jackson came in with his shoes in hand.

“Now bud wear your shoes so we can get going.” River said to hima nd they both watched as Jackson let out a groan. She was confused by this sight as she wondered what could have possibly caused him to be upset.

“He isn't very good at tying his shoes but we are working on that”. Ricer Whispered to her and she almost gouden it cute when she watched as he let out a gasp before a blush came over his cheeks.

“Come on dad you said that you wouldn't tell her that. And I can do it just fine”. He said to them with a huff. River gestured for him to go ahead and they both watched him as he sat on the floor hesitantly. She watched as he pulled his shoes on before he bit down on his lip and he struggled to tie the shoelaces together.

She sighed after watching him for a moment and she couldn't bear to watch him struggle any further. She bent down to his level causing him to look up at her curiously as she gave him a bright smile. “I used to struggle with them two. But remember through the meadow over the tree stump and into the rabbit hole.” She said to him as she tied the laces on his right shoe for him.

She watched as he hummed as he nodded his head at her and he turned his attention towards his other foot. “Okay I can do this”. He muttered as he repeated her actions. She watched as he jumped to his feet and he cheered loudly. “I did it.” He cheered.

“Yes I am very proud. It is not as though I didn't try to teach you that same technique just about ten times``. River grumbled. Cammy chuckled. “Don't be a sore loser. I thought you were meant to be some big bad alpha male.” She said to him in a mocking tone.

She watched as he scowled at her for a moment before soon enough the scowl That was plastered onto his face was replaced by a smirk and she found herself slightly numb as she couldn't help but wonder what was going through his head at that moment.

“Come on, let 's get going before I have any other ideas”. He said to her with a smirk. She gulped as she was beyond relieved when they finally made it out of the apartment. She didn't know what was happening to her.

She wasnt supposed to allow him to get to her so easily and yet she seemed that it was. That she was starting to make the same mistakes that ahe had before. She was supposed to be better and smarter than that. She had told herself that she wasn't going to allow herself to get hurt by him again and yet here she was being played right into his hands.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when they soon came to a stop in front of his benz. She looked towards him with a raised eyebrow and watched as he only shrugged before he helped Jackson into his car seat in the back.

She sighed as she slipped into the passenger seat. She had contemplated seating next to Jackson but she had made the decision to stay far away from the child. He was causing old wounds to resurface and she wasn't sure how much longer she would be able to stay before having a meltdown.

They drove in silence as it seemed that they were lost in their own thoughts and the only sound that was heard through the car was the sound of Jackson humming a tune in the back. Occasionally she would find her faze drifting towards River but he seemed to be deep in thought and so she chose to ignore it.

Soon enough they came to a stop In front of the shopping mall, she watched as he helped River out of his seat .He seemed to be full of life as he remained giddy with excitement. Taking a hold of his father.” hand before heading towards the entrance.

They were greeted at the front by what appeared to be a security personnel who gave them bright smiles. “Well what a lovely little family. You look just like your mother”. She said to Jackson and Cammy felt her body run cold.
