Chapter 2133 2143
Chapter 2133 2143
With Elena’s Prophecy Trait now exposed, Archie certainly couldn't keep it a secret from the upper echelons of the Ancient Clan. Caught right in the middle of a political firestorm, he had no choice but to take a stand.
As for what he was truly thinking inside, Liam had no way of knowing. What the clan’s leadership would decide upon hearing the news was even more of a mystery.
Whether Elena would still be willing to remain with the Ancient Clan was entirely up in the air, and Liam intended to respect whatever choice she ultimately made.
Despite the heavy thoughts weighing on his mind, a faint smile remained on his face. "I took a bit of damage back there, and my wife hasn't closed her eyes in days. Let me take some time to recover first. Once I'm back to full strength, we'll set off to look for the Creation Needles!"
"About how we'll split the spoils, though..." Archie looked at Liam cautiously.
His tone of voice had completely shifted.
Liam was well aware that Archie had tried to shortchange him during his coma, hoping to secure a larger share of the rewards. Now that Liam was fully awake, had reached the Permanent-Tier, and possessed peerless combat power, Archie couldn't help feeling a bit nervous.
"I'll be bringing Elena and Axel along. As for the final distribution, once we leave Promise Island, I'll go negotiate the terms directly with your patriarch. Besides, Promise Island has been blown to pieces for years—there's no telling how many Creation Needles are even left," Liam said with a light laugh.
Archie nodded in agreement. "True. Creation Needles were always notoriously difficult to manufacture. Back then, even though Promise Corporation held the technology, production was supposedly quite low. They only managed to turn out a few needles over the course of several years..."
"I'm going to go rest. You guys finish up with the cleanup!" Liam exhaled a long breath.
A deep sense of exhaustion was truly weighing him down.
"Alright!" Archie replied.
Liam returned to the room, where Stella immediately hurried over. "How did it go?"
"Sent him packing," Liam breathed out a sigh of relief. "I'm going to get some rest first. I'm exhausted!"
"Okay!" Stella quickly said. "You and Autumn should get some sleep."
Liam nodded. Then, a thought crossed his mind, and he added, "Right, once I wake up and recover, we... should head straight for the core zone of Promise Corporation, grab the Creation Needles, and get out of here."
A flash of excitement crossed Stella's face. "Great!"
Axel rolled his eyes thoughtfully. "Actually... on our way back, we could pass by Cloud-Moon Marsh and check out that newly discovered base to see if there's any good loot."
Liam chuckled silently. This guy was still thinking about that place.
He didn't know much about Promise Corporation, nor did he fully grasp the significance of a newly unearthed base or research facility. Still, he nodded. "If we get the chance when the time comes, we can go take a look!"
Elated, Axel grinned. "Alright, go get some rest!"
Autumn supported him into one of the rooms inside the shipping container. The two of them collapsed onto the bed, talked for a little while longer, and quickly drifted into a deep, heavy sleep.
Liam's battered body needed time to recover, and Autumn hadn't closed her eyes in two days. Once they fell asleep, they stayed out for a full twenty-four hours!
Meanwhile, up on Phoenix Mountain, everyone was packing up bags and bundles, preparing to leave the place they had called home for thousands of years.
Vesper's eyes glided over the scene with a hint of excitement. With such a massive influx of powerful martial artists joining their ranks, combined with her and Liam's strength, the Watchmen of Phoenix City were about to experience a massive leap in overall power.
Their pace was neither too fast nor too slow. Before long, they had descended Phoenix Mountain.
At the base of the mountain, Vesper turned back to gaze at the sea of red leaves blanketing the slopes. She murmured softly, "Liam... I wonder how things are going on your end!"
At the same time, deep within the Murs Mountain Range, a lithe yet weary figure was darting through the terrain. After spending over a month on the road, she had successfully crossed the entire mountain range!
Moreover, she discovered that ever since reaching the Flame Decay tier, she hadn't encountered a single beast attack. Most wild beasts seemed downright terrified the moment they laid eyes on her.
"Is someone tailing me?" She frowned slightly, pondering for a moment before deciding, I can just ask someone around here for directions to Phoenix City!
