Chapter 156 Chapter 156
Chapter 156

Aidan brought down the phone from his ear ending the call with Oscar. He had called to phone him about his father’s death when he made a new discovery.

Aidan went back to the room where his brother was, he tapped on his shoulder the moment he got to him calling for his attention. His head was buried in his knees as he sobbed quietly sitting on the chair.

Grandfather was laid still on the bed with his eyes concealed under his lashes.

“We need to talk.” His said, stretching out a palm for him to grab.

“What is it? Look I’m very much okay with myself crying like this, I don’t need your stupid concern or console-“

“Shut the fuck up and come with me. This is more important than the stupid tears you’re shedding.” Aidan leaned grabbing his wrist anyways and pulling him on to his feet, he dragged the both of them out of the room.

He took them to the passage where a bench was available as he sat the both of them down on it.

“I really don’t think dad was murdered by an assassin.” Aidan started out the conversation, earning a frustrated sigh and an eye roll from his brother who seem to be familiar with the conversation.

“How many times do I have to tell you that it is. It is not then who could it be? Uncle Royce who was with him or what exactly are you saying?” Aiden lashed at him with his voice at bay.

“We need to go ask Uncle Royce what happened? We never really knew, but I just want to let you know that I heard something interesting.”

“What is it?” He asked with his brows knitted with confusion.

“Lorraine’s husband. Avon Barksdale; The Dragon General. You know he was shot yesterday and was presumed dead even, well turns out my father and our two other uncles was behind it.” Aidan shared his discovery, expecting the reaction that surfaced on Aiden’s face.

He stared with amusement, his sentences to him repeating in his head. “Wait wait wait,” he said in his voice finding it hard to believe what his twin brother just said. “How did you know this? Who told you? That can’t be true.” Aiden countered, staring with disbelief and unable to believe what his brother was telling him.

“I called Uncle Oscar with Uncle Royce’s phone, he had no idea it was me; I was going to inform him about Dad’s dead. He spill everything out to me mistakenly not knowing it was me, he thought it was Uncle Royce who called him, so he blabbered on how he was unavailable and how he had to tend to something, he then went on spilling on their plan to kill Lorraine’s husband that backfired because The Dragon General is still alive.” Aidan explained to his brother.

Aiden’s gaze at his brother widened hearing his explanation, “What the fuck!” He gasped out softly.

“We need to go talk to Uncle Royce, but not about this. We need to go ask what happened and how our father ended up dead. We’re not going to tell him we know about their secret, we should act front in front of him.” Aiden suggested as he rose to his feet.

“Are you seriously telling me that, I’m smarter than you and of course I have thought of that. I was going to tell you to do that. You see why I said our father wasn’t killed by an assassin.”

Aiden frowned at him before nodding his head in agreement. “Yes, who do you think tried to kill him then?”

“Are you really asking. Even after what I told you.”

“The Dragon General of course.” His head tilted to his words, Aidan nodding at him in validation to the guess.

“Yeah.” He concurred standing up so both could be on their way to Royce.

“But what if he is not the one? What if it is somebody else?” He asked keeping his eyes on his face as both turned around to walk down the passage that leads to their uncle’s room.

“Who else could it be? They’ve planned to kill him, and if anything doesn’t lead to his suspicion it was yesterday at the same party when he announced himself as the Dragon General. That speech he gave simply said he is not the one to take things lightly. My father and his uncles came for him so he decide to take them out. That’s just my theory though, we should wait and hear from Uncle Royce what actually happened in that room. I also notice something strange.”

Aiden was left curious hearing the last sentence of his words. “What did you notice?” He asked with his brows furrowed.

“You know I told the maids not to clean up Dad’s murder scene, it wasn’t to call the cops but it was for me to inspect. I don’t want to make assumptions yet, but I have a lot of theories and until I hear from Uncle Royce would I dig deeper into my theories and find out who actually killed my dad. Whoever that person is won’t get away with what killing him.” Aidan was pretty grounded with the statement.

“Even if the person is The Dragon General?” Aiden asked to be sure of where he would direct his revenge, and not to someone who would kill him in a blink.

If anything he should be scared of him like everyone is, he was shot three times in the chest and survived like nothing happened to him. That’s enough incident to still fear in the heart of his enemies.

“Yes-“

“Don’t be fucking stupid, I already lost my father please I don’t want to lose you to. Or do I need to slap your brain before you understand who you said you would go after?” Aiden uttered in a scolding tone.

Both dead the matter arriving at the entrance of Royce’s ward, they pushed door wide gaining entrance as they walked in.

Royce was laid on the bed resting with his eyes closed, at the movement he snapped them open acknowledging the intruders to be his nephews.

“Are you both alright?” He asked them, genuine care in his voice with his eyes trailing around them.

“Yes, we just want to know how our father died. It is time we know, I do hope you’re recovering though.” Aiden said back to Royce, taking a seat on the plastic white chair available in the room with Aidan standing behind him with crossed arms on his chest.

Royce sniffed, emotions surfacing his face as he retrieved his gaze on them facing the ceiling instead. “Yesterday night at the party, your father and I overheard the Wilsons talking about their plan to take out Lorraine’s husband. They’ve hired a man and he was to shoot him down the moment he saw Avon leaving the party, perhaps they were threatened with their secret out in our hands they sent some men to kidnap us the same night but we escaped. I believe it was them who sent an assassin this morning to shut our lips sealed forever.” He lied through his lips, sounding extremely soft with emotions playing out on his face making his words believable.

Aidan stared unhinged, squinting his gaze at Royce. Why is his lie covering up the secret of trying to murder Avon.

Unless he was trying to put everything on the Wilsons.

“When Vance and I got to Oscar’s room looking for him, he stood close to the window where he was shot and many more bullets were shot into the room to also take me out but I was able to dodge it and escape. I can’t believe Vance is dead.” He bursted out into fresh tears, sobbing as he raised a palm to cover his mouth.

Aidan pinched on Aiden’s shoulder, sending a signal it is time to go.

Aiden got the message as he buried his face into his palms then stood up from the chair running out of the room.

“So what you are saying is the Wilsons are the potential suspect of my father’s murderer?” Aidan stood back asking.

Royce look to the cold eyes peering at him, “Yes,” he answered avoiding eye contact. “And not suspect, I’m pretty sure they’re the one who sent the assassin.” He added backing his response up.

“Well karma is already messing with them, except I also overheard them talking about how Lorraine’s husband would be taken out but they didn’t come after me. Wait, wasn’t it Richard talking to his father about it, I was behind them the whole time and they knew. I wonder why it is you and my father they decide to come after. That is such a bad luck.” Aidan smirked inwardly seeing the expression that surfaced on his facial, that is all he needed to confirm his doubt about him.

“Oh well I’m not giving up, the Wilsons are a suspect not the actual culprit. I have a hidden camera in Sir Oscar’s room, my dad requested I put it there then when Uncle Oscar complained about someone always sneaking into his room and he wanted to know who. I’m tired of playing the scene out in my head, I will go play the scene and while you get better I will come give you the news about who I found out killed my dad. Uncle Royce are you okay? You seem exceptionally tensed.” Aidan feigned concern, the look fading just as it appears.

“Bye for now and do get better.” He turned around walking out of the ward room.

“You pinched me saying it is time to go only for you to stay back saying God knows what.” Aiden attacked the moment he saw his brother.

“Is it crazy that I think it was Uncle Royce who actually killed our dad.” He shared his thought instead walking away ahead of Aiden who ran to stay by his side.

“What do you mean?”

“I’m simply saying what if it was Uncle Royce who killed our dad. It all makes sense, I just have to find out.”

“I’m confused here Aidan, wanna lighten things up a little bit? Please.” Aiden gazed with perplexity, staring at his face hoping to find some clues or hints to the pieces adding up in his head.

“You know I told the maid not to clean up my father’s dead scene. I took several pictures after inspecting every single area of the room before asking them to do it. Although it seems he was shot from the window cause the position his body was on the floor, but there was this tiny blood stained few distance from the floor. So I played it out in my head, what if he was shot when walking out of the room and not standing, then the blood spot made it make sense. If blood splattered, then it would land exactly at that spot, but if he was shot from the window then the spot would be reversed and at the opposite. While his body was also been carried out, blood were smeared on the back of his head, like in a rubbing manner as if the hair was rubbed on the blood spill to the floor; that means the position was switched that aligns with my guess of him getting shot while walking towards the door and not standing close to the window. Are you thinking what I’m thinking now?”

“Uncle Royce is indeed the freaking murderer. You staying up all night watching crime investigation is starting to pay off.” Aiden snorted with the edge of his lips turning up.

“That is not confirmed yet, back in the room when I was alone with him. I said some pretty triggering words to get an expected expression out of him, that further confirms him to be a suspect. I just have to find the reason why he killed my father and get him to confess, I said something though. I told him I hid a camera in Uncle Oscar’s room and I’m going home to go check what actually happened, if he comes after me to stop me from attaining the truth that means he is the murderer, if he doesn’t then he is not. I purposely told him that so I can push out some actions, so I have to be prepared Incase he does come after me. We need a plan Aiden, a smart one so I will need your brain not your head in this game.”
