Resisting my cold hearted alpha boss

Fresh out of college, I thought I’d landed the perfect job—assistant to a powerful, gorgeous alpha CEO. As a beta, I was supposed to be the safe choice: no pheromonal drama, no tangled emotions, no blurred boundaries. But nothing about this job—or him—was ordinary. Between back rubs, sleepless business trips, and intimate moments that crossed too many lines, I fell. Hard. Even knowing he’d never look twice at someone like me. Or so i thought. Extract: “I have been waiting to do that since the day you stepped foot into my office,” Brandon muttered against my lips, his voice low and rough. My breath caught in my throat. I pulled back just enough to see his face. His hand was still at my neck, not gripping—just resting there, warm and steady like an anchor. “Then why didn’t you?” I asked, voice shaking. “Because I’m your boss,” he said, jaw tight. “Because it’s messy. It’s stupid. And because if I kissed you once, I wouldn’t stop.”
