EPILOGUE
“Mom, Sarah ate my chocolate even after I gave her a piece from mine.”
“I also got one for her. What happened to hers that she had to eat yours?”
“She ate hers and mine as well.”
“Laura if I understand what you are saying, you mean she ate hers and still ate yours despite giving her from yours?”
“Yes mom.”
“That I won’t tolerate. Go get her for me.”
“Yes mom.”
Sarah strolls into the room with guilt written all over her face.
“Why did you eat your sister's chocolate?”
“I'm sorry mom.”
“You haven't answered my question. Why did you eat your sister's chocolate?”
“I'm sorry Laura, I thought you didn't want it anymore.”
“That's a lie. You know that's her favourite chocolate. She was kind enough to give you from it yet you went ahead to eat the remaining. For that, you are grounded. That's not being contented. I'm removing the exact amount of the chocolate from your piggy bank. Now apologize to your sister.”
“I'm sorry for eating your chocolate Laura.”
“It's okay. I forgive you.”
“Who's forgiving who and what smells heavenly in here.”
“Daddy.” Laura and Sarah scream simultaneously running into their father's arms.
“My world. How are you girls doing?”
“Welcome baby, how was work?”
“Great unfortunately I couldn't concentrate because I needed to see you badly. What did I miss?”
“You could have face timed me. Nothing much just Sarah being a naughty. I missed you.”
“I missed you more.”
“Dad but you saw mommy in the morning before going to work. Why do both of you sound like you've been apart for ages?”
“Don’t you have an assignment or something? Help your sister with hers because I see you have enough time on your hands to be able to question us.”
“I'll give you guys your space.” Laura says raising her hands in the air.
“She has grown into such a beautiful and mature girl.” I say remembering little Laura
“She learnt from the best.” he says before kissing my lips.
“You flatter me Liam.”
“It's like I fall in love with you even harder every single time I see you.”
“Someone might just be getting to bed in a red robe.”
“I can't wait if it's the one I saw in your closet this morning.”
“And how did you find it?”
“I was looking for blue t-shirt because someone won't stop stealing my t-shirts.”
“They are more comfortable than mine.”
“How’s the Bloom initiative coming along?”
“Perfectly well. We've been able to sponsor the treatment of new sets of cancer patients.”
“That's good news. Lives have been saved because of your good work.”
“I wouldn't have done it without your support. What time is Delon and Georgia coming for dinner?”
“Six. They just can't get enough of your good cooking skills. A woman of many skills both in and out of the bedroom.”
“Baby! The children might be around the corner.”
“Weren't they here for Thanksgiving like last week?”
“They can move in with us for all I care. They are the reason we got back together. If he didn't terminate the contract, we wouldn't be here right now.”
“True. I've still not forgiven you for stealing my favourite staff.”
“Veronica is the only one I can trust with the accountability of the foundation. I'm sorry baby, it's been years. Get over it already besides I've paid my dues for several nights.”
Who would have thought that I would end up a happy woman, living the life I've always dreamed of?
