Chapter 100 - Rejecting My Contracted Luna

  Emma's POV

"Mommy!" I can hear Ezra calling from down the hall. "Mommy!" He squeals a little louder.

I heave myself off of the couch and waddle my way down the hall. My stomach is getting more round by the day and I can barely see my feet any longer. I sigh to myself as I get to the bathroom and see Ezra sitting on the potty with a brilliant smile spread across his face.

"I need help wiping my butt," he says with a cheeky grin.

I cannot help but groan. "Ezra, did you even try?"

"I did, I swear I did." He says with his eyes wide like a puppy that has just been scolded.

After helping Ezra clean himself up I send him to find his father or Uncle Daniel. I need to put my feet up. I didn't realize that when Ethan said he wanted to add another child to the family that he meant right away. We had barely been back in Crescent Pack a month when I found out that I was indeed pregnant again. Ethan was, of course, elated with the news but I was hoping to have a little more time to ourselves before adding a baby to the mix.

Ethan has been an amazing mate this time around. He has not missed a single appointment and drives into the town in the middle of the night whenever I am having a weird craving. It makes me feel guilty for robbing him of this opportunity the first time but Ethan tells me that we need to put the past behind us and keep looking forward.

I waddle my way back to the living room and flop down on the couch and try to put my feet up but my belly keeps getting in the way.

"Ethan!" I call out but I don't get a response. "Ethan!" I scream louder this time and he comes running from his office with a panicked look on his face.

Grabbing the baby bag that is packed and ready in the hallway, he rushes into the living room and tries to heave me to my feet.

"What are you doing?" I groan as I try to fight my way back onto the comfortable couch.

"Is it time?" Ethan says breathlessly.

"No," I groan. "I just have this terrible back pain and I want to put my feet up."

Ethan pulls the pregnancy book out of his back pocket that he has been carrying around for months. "The book says that lower back pain could be a sign of labor. Maybe we should go to the hospital just to be safe."

"Ethan it is just back pain because I am huge," I mumble.

I flop myself back down on the couch and try to lift my feet up once again. Ethan sees me struggling and helps me to prop my feet up on the couch. Leaning back I groan loudly and Ethan hesitantly takes a step forward with that damn book in his hand again.

"I think we should go get checked out just to make sure," Ethan says quietly.

"Fine," I say with a smirk on my face. "You go ahead without me and I show up when I'm ready."

"This isn't funny," Ethan says as he puts the book back in his back pocket. "You could be in labor."

"Have done this before," I remind him. "I know what labor feels like."

"But the book says that every pregnancy is different," Ethan says as he reaches for the book one more time.

"I swear to the Moon Goddess. If you pull out that book one more time I am going to shove it where the sun doesn't shine." My voice is laced with anger. I just want to sit on the couch and relax.

"I just think that we should go get checked out." Ethan says with a worried look on his face.

I swing my legs off of the couch with a strength that I didn't know I had left in me. "Ethan, you may be the Alpha of this pack but I am your Luna and you will not boss me around," I scream at him as I pull myself to my feet.

Suddenly as I stand up, a gush of water flows from my body, coating the inside of my legs and puddling on the floor underneath me. "OH SHIT!" I scream as the pain becomes much more intense. I grab ahold of Ethan's arm and squeeze down as hard as I can. Ethan is staring at the puddle of fluid on the floor with eyes wide with shock.

"Oh Shit," Ethan whispers. "It really is time."

"Shut up and get me to the hospital," I growl at him as he continues to stare at the puddle on the floor.

"But we need to clean up the mess," he says with a frown on his face. "The carpet."

"You have got to be kidding me," I groan. "I will just mind link Christina, she will take me to the hospital."

"NO!" Ethan calls out. Christina and I have been teasing him for the past six months, telling him that I would rather Christina be in the room with me again. Needless to say he didn't find our jokes very funny.

'Christina,' I send her a mind link anyway. 'It appears that I am in labor.'

'I will watch Ezra,' she links back quickly.

"Okay," I moan out in pain. "Let's go."

"But what about Ezra," Ethan says as he puts his arm around me and tries to lead me out of the house.

"Already taken care of," I groan as another wave of pain rushes over my body.

Ethan guides me out of the pack house as I moan and bitch about men and their penises the whole way out of the house.

"Are you going to bitch at me the whole time," Ethan asks with a bit of an edge to his voice.

"Are you the one that put me in this situation?" I growl back at him as I try to get into the front seat of the car.

Ethan doesn't say another word the whole way to the hospital. He just lets me squeeze his hand as each wave of pain rushes over my body. Parking in front of the hospital I am surprised to find a wheel chair and a nurse waiting for me out front.

"I mind linked the doctor," Ethan says sweetly as he helps me out of the car and into the wheelchair.

"Thank you," I say through gritted teeth.

After what seems like an hour we finally make it to the maternity ward and into my room. I lay down on the bed in my bright yellow sundress. They tried to make me change but I didn't have the energy.

"Luna," the nurse coos sweetly. "I am afraid you will ruin your dress."

"I don't care," I growl at her and she quickly takes a step back.

Suddenly the doctor bursts through the door and the doctor hands a special mask to the nurse. Ethan looks at the doctor in confusion.

"They are so we don't succumb to her blood. Everyone on the floor has been escorted safely to a new location. Just in case." The doctor explains to us but I don't really care.

"Doctor," I breathe out in pain. "I feel like I need to push."

The doctor puts on her mask and lifts up the edge of my dress. "The baby is already crowning," the doctor informs us. "You got here just in time. The next time you feel a contraction I want you to push."

I nod my head and bare down hard as I push. Ethan holds my hand even though I am glaring at him.

"One more push," the doctor says and I push as hard as I can.

I can feel the baby slip from my body and a loud wail fills the air. The doctor flips the baby over and announces loudly, "It's a girl!"

Even though I am exhausted I cannot stop the smile from spreading across my face. Ethan presses a kiss to my forehead and whispers next to my ear. "Ezra said he wanted a little sister."

The nurse lays the baby on my chest and I look down at the beautiful little creature with a mound of dark curls sitting atop her head. Our little girl opens her eyes and a pair of bright green eyes stare back at me.

I kiss the top of her little head. "Welcome to the world, little Amelia."
