Chapter 75 - Rejecting A Wolf

"Should we this guy to watch over here while we head deeper." Henry nodded and said while glancing at the other lycan.

"Stay alert, we'll be back," Jace ordered before running off with Henry. The two ended up finding two more rooms filled with cells and people before finding the children in the last cell.

"Henry, go to the floor above us and release the prisoners. Make sure you shift right in front of them. Also, tell them that if they want to live, they must fight." Jace ordered.

He mind linked the other lycan and told him the same thing before he shifted.

Most of the people in the cells didn't notice him until they heard some people cry out in alarm.

"Relax, I'm here by order of the queen to rescue you guys. However, the situation is bad. If you want to live, you'll need to fight your way out while protecting the children." Jace told them.

Murmurs began to flood throughout the cells. Until someone bold enough asked.

"Queen?" an older man asked. "Who's the queen?"

"Your queen," Jace smiled as he ripped the locking system out with his right hand, disabling and opening the cells. "The queen of werewolves."

"Bullshit," a woman cried out. "We never heard of such a thing."

"Do you think you were the only ones imprisoned?" Jace held his forehead and asked. "The queen is merciful as she let me, her strongest soldier, lead the charge to destroy this disgusting place with only three soldiers. We had thought you all have perished, but here you are."

"Can you really get us out of here?" the older man asked.

"I don't know if you'll all make it out alive, but most of you will make it." Jace gave them a pointed look as the alarm finally went off. " Go run to the stairs, make your way up, and fight for your lives. Somebody's waiting for you above."

"Then what about you?" Someone asked from inside the crowd.

"I have one last important thing to do. Don't delay any longer."Jace waved them off. He watched as they left before he turned and walked to the next set of stairs.

For now, they won't question what he was, but when they were out of danger, surely they'll question who and what they were.

Jace put his thoughts in the back of his mind and began his descent. After this floor was where the Lycans were being kept. When he set foot in there, disgust welled up within him as he watched these half-lycans.

Without mercy, he releases his aura and forced his way into the special silver cells without a second thought and put these miserable bastards out of their misery.

Silver was indeed the weakness for lycans, but Aurora wasn't just any lycan. She was a purebred lycan born from the moon goddess herself.

That is why Jace used his blood to turn the others into lycans. Because those turned by Aurora's blood would be immune to silver.

There must always be a way to control and kill lycans. Fear and generosity must be hand in hand when ruling a kingdom.

That didn't mean that lycans born from the persons she changed wouldn't have silver immunity, though.

If Jace had taken a normal lycan as a mate, their children would be born with the weakness of silver. While he, himself, was immune to silver. It was complicated, but that was the way it was.

So that's why Jace could enter the silver cells and slaughter the half-lycans easily. His plan was originally to find Alaric first and kill him last, but that plan was busted due to unexpected factors.

Not only that, but he honestly had no time to tell who was Alaric among the half-Lycans, not that it mattered in the first place. Even with Henry and the others blocking on top, Jace dare not delay looking for Alaric carefully. Instead, he killed all the half-lycans before running up to meet the others.

If Jace had it his way, he would have set fire to this place immediately, but he couldn't with so many innocent lives at stake.

After casting a look at the bodies slung across the floor, Jace made his way back up and joined in the fight to free them underground.

Aurora and Tom stood with their backs against each other as they were lured into Brandon's trap. Dozen of silver-tipped arrows were shot at them, but the two didn't dodge, nor did they move away.

They only shift into lycan forms to protect their vitals from the arrows. It was a last-ditch effort, and if it were any other lycans, it probably would have worked, but unfortunately, it was Aurora and Tom.

Aurora was immune to Silver, and so was Tom. Aurora decided to take the back seat when it came to Brandon as they finished off all the arrow shooters.

"He's yours, Tom. Deal with him now." Aurora shifted back to human form. She was covered in blood as she sat in a lotus position next to a tree. Tom also shifted back into human form and pursed his lips.

"Shouldn't you be the one to do this?" Tom asked.

"A lot of my misfortune was caused by just that misfortune. But your misfortune, along with a lot of other people's, was caused by him." Aurora leisurely explained. "It is fitting for him to meet his end by one of the people he wronged the most."

Tom didn't speak. He only looked at Brandon, who was standing not too far away from him. Brandon did not attempt to run because even if he ran, he would be caught.

"Why are you listening to a woman, you got turned into a lycan and still listen to some bitch. Brother, you and I can cha..." Brandon's words were interrupted by Tom's elongated claws swiping itself across his neck.

Aurora watched as Brandon's body dropped. Howls of anguish echo before howls of victory overpowered them.

Just like that, it was over. Revenge was complete, and now all that was left was the clean-up and Jace's safe return.

Aurora used her hand to push herself up. She didn't speak to Tom. Regardless of what type of person Brandon was, he was Tom's brother.

She stood there a little while longer before she silently shifted and returned to the pack to deal with the clean-up and Morel.

Tom stayed there for an hour before he began to move once more. The last thing he would do as Brandon's brother was bury his body.

So, using his hands, Tom laboriously dug a grave deep enough to bury Brandon's lifeless body.

When Tom came back to the pack, Aurora had already skilfully arranged everything. Those who should be buried would be buried. Those injured would be taken care of.

Tom stood still watching everything let out a sigh. All the heavy burdens that weighed down on him were lifted away.

All that was left was to take control and rule over the werewolves and lycans alike. Tom made his way inside where Aurora, Nick, and Morel were.

"Are you okay now?" Aurora asked him without glancing in his direction.

"I am," Tom paused, " Has everything been sorted out?"

"No, we let the wolves on Brandon's side flee. And Morel here is being banished." Nick explained.

"Oh, then what's the plan from here?" Tom asked Aurora.

"Nick is going to become a lycan. That way, the witches' sanctions would not affect him. Morel betrayed our trust, though I understand her motives. I will not tolerate it besides having a witch here gives the witches' council a reason to monitor us." Aurora folded her hands on her lap and explained.

"How can Nick become a lycan?" Tom frowned. "Isn't he a witch? Wouldn't the witches have a fit if he did this?"

"I've cast my magic away. Right now, I'm a weak feeble human." Nick smiled at Tom. "This is not only for me but for Dillion ad the kids."

"If this is your choice, I will respect it."Tom nodded.

"You should leave now, Morel." Aurora turned and told Morel.

"Shouldn't I wait to see Aiden at least?" Morel looked distressed.

"The witches are here, watching. Nick is no longer a witch. Meaning he's no longer their concern. Make our lives easier and leave." Aurora shook her head.

"Then..... I'll be going." Morel reluctantly stood and cast her spell. She disappeared from their eyes silently.

After a few minutes, Aurora's lycans reported the witches also left. All it was left to do was iron out the details while waiting for Jace and the others to return.

After another four hours, he came back. Aurora got up as soon as she felt him near and ran outside. Dozen of miles away, Jace led the group of tired, weak, wounded wolves back to the pack.

Jace suddenly stopped and held his hand up, making everybody else stop. A broad smile spread across his face as he opened his arms wide.

In one second that it took to blink, a woman with silver hair was in his arms. Jace sent Henry a look and being the smarty pants he was, he knelt together with the other lycan.

"We greet her majesty, Queen Aurora!" the two shouted. Aurora turned her head and gracefully muttered rise before burying her head in Jace's chest once more.

Time waited for no one and in the twinkle of an eye. One hundred years passed.
