Chapter 74 - Rejecting A Wolf
"Attack!" Brandon's raised hand was flung downwards to motion his men to rush forward. Aurora watched as the countless wolves all began to shift.
"Werewolves!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. "Shift."
Their side began to shift. Only a few people stayed in human form amidst the werewolves. They were lycans.
"Get ready," Aurora shouted again, but this time, it was directed at the lycans in human forms.
Each lycan got in a position they were most comfortable with and crouched. The dozens of wolves around them covered their bodies somewhat from the other side, but those around them would be able to see.
"Do not lose your focus. Do not move an inch. Any wolf that moves, I'll kill them, any wolf that makes a noise, I'll kill them." Aurora's mind linked the surrounding wolves with a hint of her killing intent.
To be honest, a lot of wolves were dissatisfied with a woman leading them, but at this moment, any other thoughts they had were completely irrelevant now.
To be able to send such a threat, laced it with aura, and send it throughout them evenly just what type of monster was she?
These wolves guessed that this 'war' wasn't even going to last twenty minutes far less an hour.
But before anyone could think deeply, the Lycan began to shift. Seeing the people shift into different animals right before your eyes was a different type of experience.
Most people didn't even know what a Lycan was. Most people never questioned their origins. So this was something incredibly shocking.
All this happened in under a minute. Brandon's forces were already pouncing onto them when Aurora let out a roar.
That roar shouldn't have been possible with the human body, but she did it. It was terrifying for her forces, who she shielded from the impact of the roar, but for Brandon's forces, it was devastating.
Before they each touched the other party, the wolves at the forefront were lying on their side, twitching and convulsing.
The ones in the middle were also hit hard, but those in the back weren't spared either. Brandon was on his butt looking at Aurora in horror.
With one roar, the momentum was broken off. One roar with aura behind it completely shattered the opponent's morale.
"What, who. W...what are you?" Brandon scrambled to his feet in horror as he shouted. Aurora didn't reply to him. She only looked at him coldly.
"Lycans, kill the witch!" Aurora ordered coldly. Witch? What witch, where was the witch? Brandon's face changed when he heard her order.
Aurora raised her hand and pointed to Brandon's left, and the next second, the witch disguised as a wolf got his head ripped off his body.
"Don't act like you don't know I'm a lycan." Aurora scoffed as she glanced at him coldly. "Did Morel also tell you who I am?"
"Fire!" Brandon shouted. Aurora's eyes went even colder as she thought about Jace, who was about to enter enemy territory, and an ambush was waiting for him.
"Charge!" Aurora cried out dashing forward. Tom was hot on her heels as they ducked and dodged the spares of silver. A Lycan's one true weakness.
While the battle was heating up in the forest, Nick cast his cold eyes on Morel.
"Why would you do this?" Nick asked he was especially hurt by the betrayal because he thought he met a witch who understood him.
"I had no other choice," Morel said through gritted teeth. "Aiden and Cherise Dale are alive. He has them."
"You should have said something yesterday! Jace is going there. Did you also tell them that!" Nick gritted his teeth and asked.
"No!" Morel placed her hand on her chest. " I never told him about that plan, but Brandon isn't stupid."
"He brought silver, so it's known that he took countermeasures and heightened security for the council headquarters." Nick analyzed. "Why are witches getting involved with werewolves when all they've done is sit on the fence?"
"That witch was one from my old coven," Morel answered truthfully.
"You sent that witch to die?" Nick narrowed his eyes at her.
"No, that witch was always in contact with the council. Why do you think our movements were restricted, to begin with? If we had so much as cast a spell to help the pack, they would have taken action." Morel reminded him. Nick didn't reply, only coldly hummed.
The smell of blood polluted the air. Both sides were suffering from either injuries or loss of life due to the full frontal attacks.
The side with the most casualties was Brandon's. Even if he had a Lycan's weakness with him, he had to be able to wound them with it first.
Most of the injured on Aurora's side were werewolves. Brandon could only retreat, but with Aurora and Tom pursuing him, he had to lead them to the trap he made.
If his plan succeeded, he would at least be able to kill one of them.
Meanwhile, all this was happening. Jace, Henry, and another lycan silently infiltrated the headquarters. The three of them turned into ants and walked right in dodging all the countermeasures they place.
it could be seen how much they underestimated them by not even thinking about the possibility of them shifting into something like an ant or fly.
Jace wasn't an idiot. He chose an ant because it was inconspicuous. One could still notice a fly in the air flying around, but an ant was much more appropriate for this type of infiltration.
The only downside to using an ant was that it was not as fast as you would think. But with safety as his priority, Jace would rather do this.
'Jace, I think we need to head further underground.' Henry mind linked to Jace. Jace glanced at the two following him and nodded.
They began their descent carefully, searching for the children. Who would have thought that before they could find the children, they'd find adult werewolves all imprisoned in groups on one floor?
'Jace, we may be able to use this to our advantage.'Henry excitedly suggested to his brother.
Jace lips curled as he saw a familiar face in the crowd. "You may be right. Besides It's the right thing to do as the future king consort of the queen, I must save as many of our objects as I can but not now, locate the children first, and search to see if we find any more cells filled with people like this."
