Chose The Pack Over Her Family!

Chose The Pack Over Her Family!
The burial rights for Mace and the rest of the deceased werewolves were performed the moment the moon surfaced over the clouds. Simon poured himself a cup of whiskey and drank it before pouring it over the fire to put it out. Scarlett locked her gaze on him, smiling with the reassurance that she would be there for him whenever he needed it.

Simon was curious about Adolpha and Anton's whereabouts. They never showed up for anything. He sighed. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight."

"I understand how you feel, Simon. I completely do. Good job in completing this ritual."

Simon turned to the pack. "I appreciate everyone's presence. It means a lot that we're all here for our brothers and sisters who died in the fight. We will only go forward from now..." Following a gunshot, a scream was heard, cutting Simon off. He fixed his gaze on Scarlett. "Was that a..."

"Gunshot," Scarlett finished. "The hunters." She took a look around and could hear murmurs. "Everyone relax," she said.

"Cypher, get them to the mansion for safety" The rest of the warriors, come with me." Simon said. Scarlett followed him as he began to walk.

"What are your plans?"

"I thought you said you were by yourself."

"I was alone. I am certain."

Simon came to a halt and looked at her. "Then we have to kill them. Tonight. Regardless of whether you like it or not. It's either your family or the pack."

She'd already decided on it, and it was the pack. She chose the moment her grandfather came for her. "Of course, the pack." Scarlett commenced walking. She gasped when she saw some werewolves on the ground. Already dead. "We were too late."

"Be careful. They are all around us." Simon said to her. The rest of the werewolves separated. Simon made Scarlett walk closer to him. They came to a complete stop when they heard a twig snap. Scarlett turned around to see her aunt approaching them.

Scarlett's eyes widened. "Aunt Augusta?"

"Well, well, well. It is true that you are just like them. My favourite niece. You broke my heart, Scarlett." Augusta raised her gun and aimed it at Simon. "And you. How could you ruin her life like that?" Simon growled. "I've been looking for you for years, and now is the time for me to kill you."

"Wait, Aunt Augusta." Scarlett said. "Please let us go."

Augusta started laughing, then stopped. "You usually get your way with things, but not today. I'll let you go, but I'll also take your Alpha's head with me." She cocked her gun and was about to fire when a werewolf pushed her away.

"Let's get out of here." As they began to run, Simon took Scarlett's hand in his. "You can handle silver, right?" Scarlett nodded. "Then I know where to find you a silver weapon." As they continued running, a gunshot was heard, and Simon fell to the ground. Scarlett came to a halt and looked at him, but he was rolling, and then she heard a thud.

"Simon." She yelled as she chased him down. She jumped to the other side and saw him holding his arm. "Are you okay?" Scarlett gasped when she saw the blood. "Oh, my goodness, you're bleeding."

Simon groaned. "I am not healing. It hurts so bad."

Scarlett knelt to get a better look at his arm. She noticed something glowing. "It's wolfsbane. Simon, you were shot with wolfsbane."

"And it is the strong kind. He'll be gone in a few hours."

Scarlett was taken aback by the voice that spoke. She stood up and turned to see her grandfather standing right in front of them, his gun aimed at them. "Grandfather."

"It's good to see you again, boy." He said to Simon. Simon groaned angrily as he locked eyes with Philip.

"You have met him?" She asked Philip.

"We had a history, but that's for another day. If I were you, I'd leave him for dead."

"Grandfather please. Don't do this. I beg you. Just let it all go, and let us all go." She turned to face Simon, who was already turning pale and sweating from his position.

"The wolfsbane will quickly reach his heart, and he will die."

Scarlett began to sob. "Grandfather. You can take me with you. I will gladly come, and you will profit greatly from this. I will serve as your scapegoat. Please put a stop to your men's killing."

Philip clicked his tongue and shook his head. "You don't seem to understand, do you? It isn't for the money. Scarlett, it's not for money, but for vengeance. Have you ever wondered how your father died?"

"He was murdered."

"But who murdered him? I'll give you a hint." Philip smiled as he turned to face Simon. "I've been looking for the Alpha for months, ever since your father died. Yes," he said, nodding. "He murdered your father, Scarlett. Brutally."

He killed your father, Scarlett. Those words rang in her head over and over. She shook it. "No. Simon isn't the one who murdered my father."

"Ask him directly. I am so sure werewolves can't lie because you will know when they are lying."

Scarlett turned to face Simon, who was in even more pain. "Simon. Please tell me you didn't do it. Tell me you didn't kill my daddy." Simon groaned. He was at a loss for words. He just stared at her, sad and angry.

"Come on, granddaughter. Let's finish him off." Philip said to Scarlett. "Nothing will happen to you. I'll make certain of it." Scarlett looked at him, and he handed her the assault rifle. "Kill him, and you'll finally be able to avenge your father."

Scarlett took the rifle and scrowled as she faced Simon. "How could you do this to me? How could you have ruined my life in such a way? You should be as good as dead, Simon." Scarlett cocked the gun, ready to fire. Simon shut his eyes. He was already dead inside, so being murdered by the woman he loved wouldn't hurt. He deserved it and was willing to pay for it. She abruptly changed her mind and turned to shoot her grandfather in the leg instead.

Philip groaned as he fell to the ground. "You stupid girl!"

"That was for once attempting to murder me." Scarlett threw down the gun and dashed over to Simon. "Get up." She tried to pick him up, but he was getting heavy. "You're not going to die. Okay? I forgive you for what you did to my father because I know you had a reason."

"S-scarlett." Simon swallowed. "Just leave me to die."

"No! Whatever happens, I will save you. You and I are endgame, right?"

"Scarlett, it's too late. It is already getting to my heart. There's no way I'm going to make it through this."

"Stop talking." Scarlett began to sob as she struggled to keep Simon in her arms. As they approached the mansion, it was already on fire. Simon lacked the energy to rush inside and save anyone. His brother and the other werewolves were inside, and he could sense their anguish. The pain was too much for him to bear, and he closed his eyes right there.

"Simon, Simon, Simon!" Scarlett yelled. "Stay with me. I will save you, okay?" There was no longer any response, and his body had gone completely cold.
