Chapter 53
“Alpha. I can honestly say that I have no knowledge of Stacey abusing my sister. If I had, I would have stopped it. Piper is my sister, and Stacey has always assured me that she gets on well with my sister. In fact, Piper spends most of her time with Stacey at home.”
Benjamin finished somewhat lamely. I raised my eyebrows as I looked at my Beta. His nod in response told me that this hulking great man boy stood in front of me had been made a fool of.
“Ben. May I call you Ben?” I asked politely.
“Of course Alpha.” He said back, but his voice now held a slight tremor.
“Thank you Ben. I believe that you had no knowledge of any wrong doing. I have not just taken your word for it, Beta Stephen did a little digging after the incident this morning. I would like you to stay whilst I deal with these she-wolves. Alright?”
“Of course, Alpha.”
“Stacey. I am told that you go away four days a week to a school for humans, instead of going to the school in our district. You arrived back from school two days ago. Is that right?”
Stacey only nodded. I noticed how Benjamin walked past the she-wolf without looking at her. When this happened, Stacey seemed to squeeze herself in-between the two girls.
“It is this reason then, why you did not recognize Our Lady Julia. For who she really is? And. Because you didn’t recognize her, you acted extremely rude. And, on top of that. In case that is not enough reason for punishment. I then find out you are bullying lower Omegas. You flaunt your relationship with one of the elite warrior. What were you thinking? Why do you think you have the right to order anyone in MY pack to do anything for you? What makes you so special?”
She said nothing. Just stood there like a deer caught in my headlights.
I slammed my fist down onto my solid oak desk, making everyone except my Beta, jump.
“Answer me!” I shouted at her. Again, she stayed silent.
“Fine. You don’t want to talk to me now. Let’s see how talkative you will be after a night or two in the cells.”
I nodded to my Beta. He stepped forward and clasped his hand around Stacey’s arm, then led her to the cells beneath this very room.
I looked at the other two girls and Piper. I then remembered what Julia had asked.
“Piper, Julia would like to see you. Can you make your way up to her now? While I deal with these.” I gestured to the people still in my office.
“Alpha, sir. How do I address her? Is it Luna? Or your Grace. I really don’t want to offend her.”
That made me smile, even though I could clearly see that this young she-wolf was terrified, she still wanted to address Julia the right way.
“Why don’t you ask her, when you see her.” I said warmly with smile on my face. I didn’t want this she-wolf to be scared of me. I watched as she showed her neck to me. Then she left.
Before I could say another word. One of the girls started speaking.
“Alpha, Stacey is terrifying. If she doesn’t get her own way. Her family are the top Omega family’s and her father sides with her every-time. If anyone dares to go against her, their family is targeted. So no one does. Stacey gets away with whatever she wants.”
What the fuck did I just hear??
Hierarchy in the omega class of wolves? When did that happen?
I held up my hand to stop the girl speaking. I summoned my Beta and Gamma to my office. This went far beyond bullying. This was worrying.
There was a soft knock on the office door, then Jeremy walked in. Followed by Stephen.
“I asked you both to come here because there is something I want you to hear.”
I looked at the girl, who’s name was Melody, and asked her to repeat everything she had just told me.
Julia POV
I couldn’t stop smiling. I should have been full of anger towards my sister. Or panicked at finding out my wolf was an ancient goddess.
But at the moment, in this time and space all I could do was smile.
Because my attraction to Reece suddenly made so much sense to me.
But more than that. The knowledge I now had, even having a wolf after so many years of thinking I was wolf-less. Was so amazing to me.
And to top it all off, I had the love of the man I loved. It had crept up on me, sure.
I need to rest, Julia. As do you. The last few day have been busy and then this morning happened. I need to recuperate for a while. I may be quiet, but do not think I have left you. For I have always been with you.
“Onyx. You are so dear to me already. I guess I always knew that a part of me was missing. But I had no idea just how much we lost because of Eva. So yes, rest now. We have many days in front of us to get to know each other.”
I felt my great wolf sigh contentedly.
And I smiled.
Whilst I was carried to this room by Reece, he had spoken in a low tone, only meant for my ears. I had astounded him. Although it was Onyx’s power, he was just proud of the way I handled myself. Before he left, he said quietly, My Love. My Luna.
That was why I smiled now. I knew Reece had feelings for me. But something’s to your heart when you person you know you love, loves you?
It’s a feeling like no other. Dare I be happy here? In this pack that was supposedly mine? I was still unsure about that. Everything I had learnt over the last few days. Would haunt me.
But I was not about to wallow in self pity. I was better than that.
At this thought, a light tapping on the bedroom door sounded.
“Come in.” I called. Expecting to see the young girl step into the room.
Instead a hulking great man stepped in, his head bowed slightly so I could see his neck. Clearly a sign of submission.
“My Lady, there is a young girl here to see you. Shall I send her in or would you like to see her in the lounge?”
