Chapter 40 announcing her joining

Chapter 40 announcing her joining
Alexander’s P.O.V. (Continued)

“Did you try to find out the person behind that post?” I asked Abraham in a calm tone. He flinched a little and slowly looked up at me.
“Not yet, King Alexander. He used a fake proxy.” He replied in a mumble, and I scoffed aloud in disdain.
“You are known as the number one tech guy among all the packs, Abraham.” I remarked in a taunt, and he stiffened while clenching his jaw tightly.
“Or, you have already found the person, but he has a special identity, or he holds a powerful rank; that’s why you don’t want to reveal his identity?” I asked him again, speculating about the person behind that post.
He didn’t speak but lowered his eyes.
“Is it Scarlett?” I asked him angrily, and he stiffened more.
I scoffed aloud while rolling my eyes angrily.
Of course, it would be my dear sister, Bernard’s mother, and still the Luna of the Blue Moon Pack.
I had already announced that Bernard’s younger brother, Nicholas Shaw, would take over the alpha title from Bernard’s father, but they were still thinking that I would change my decision one day and are holding the alpha and Luna positions till now.
“So, Scarlett held more authority than me, huh?” I asked him in a cold taunt.
He trembled hard and immediately craned his neck towards me in submission.
“My apologies, Alpha. She talked to your father to stop the investigation related to this matter, as the post is related to the Blue Moon Pack.” He immediately explained, fear evident in his voice.
“You are my delta, Abraham, not their lapdog. You got orders from me, and if you can’t fulfill your duty under me, step aside and let anyone more capable of finishing the orders given by me take over.” I yelled, clearly angered by the involvement of my father in this matter.
That old hag never stops from creating trouble for me.
“Abraham.” I called him after a few seconds in a suppressed tone.
He didn’t dare to look up and just nodded his head in response.
“Tell Scarlett that either she will post a reply on that post clearing that there is no such case, or I will announce a full-blown investigation.” I instructed sternly.
Everyone gasped aloud, looking at me in shock, but it didn’t bother me.
“About The Night Raven Rogue Pack’s proposal, I am still considering it, and after verifying every case that they submitted, the pack will get the approval. I have already received four alphas’ appreciation letters through the mail. This is already enough to prove that those rogues deserve to get a proper place to live.” I announced aggressively and stood up.
“You can’t investigate all the cases, King Alexander.” Noel yelled in panic when I was about to leave.
I looked at him sternly but scoffed internally. He was still worried about the shame that the investigation could bring to his family and that pathetic pack.
“Amelia has given enough proof about Melanie’s case.” I assured him angrily, and at the same time, I remembered about Amelia joining me.
“And one more thing.” I added it in a bit of a calm voice.
“Amelia Locke will join me as my security head from next week. I don’t care what hatred you all have against rogues. If I hear any of you saying one bad word to her during her stay in the palace, be ready for my wrath then.” I announced threateningly.
“What? Are you crazy?” someone yelled behind me, making me stop again, but I growled aloud and glanced at them over my shoulder.
“This is not for you to object to. I just informed you guys so that you won’t be surprised when you see her here all the time.” I was stern and left no room for the argument.
I stormed out of the meeting room with Edwin and Abraham following me.
I needed to see my father so that I could ask him why he is still interfering in my work when all he needs to do is to enjoy the rest of his life with my mother.
And Scarlet…..
It seems that I need to pay a visit to my sister and order them to step down from the position now.
“King Alexander.” I stopped when Edwin called me after some time. We were in the middle of the corridor.
“You will put her life in danger, King Alexander. This is not the place for someone like her, but a den full of vultures and jackals under the disguise of humans. She has already suffered so much in her life, and the doctor also said that her body is frail.” He spoke further in a serious and worried tone.
I smiled and slowly moved behind on my heel.
“You are worried for her? She is still a rogue,” I commented while raising a brow.
He groaned in frustration and put one hand on his hip and ran the fingers of his other hand through his hair.
“You know why I hate rogues, Alexander, but she and her friends are not like those rogues. You can’t stand those filthy bstards, but I never get any bad vibes from them. You know I am a pure-blood gamma, and I have instincts for sensing the vibes of others. She…. She is a victim, Alexander. Don’t let these vultures eat her bit by bit.” He pleaded desperately in the end.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
To be honest, I also didn’t know why I wanted her so badly.
Velan didn’t know why he wanted her to be our side so badly.
“Edwin is right, King Alexander. We….. we don’t know why we all feel this protective towards her but bringing her here will make all these old hags target you. They are already pressuring you to choose a mate, and all those potential candidates who come here at any time to meet you are worse than the previous one. They all will chew Amelia out before she could even understand a thing.” Abraham also spoke in a serious tone, his worry evident for Amelia.
I was glad that my people don’t hate her for being a rogue, but my possessiveness flared when I felt their worries for her.
I opened my eyes and was about to say something when I felt Noel’s presence.
“She has already signed the contract, Abraham. She will join you guys next week, and I am sure that you all will do everything to protect her. So, I am not worried about her safety here.” I comforted them with a flat smile and looked in Noel’s direction.
Edwin and Abraham also looked in that direction. “You two, go ahead and finish the task that I gave you.” I instructed them calmly, waiting for Noel to reach me.
They nodded and walked away while Noel stopped in front of me.
“We need to talk.” He spoke to me in a calm tone.
I raised my brows, waiting for him to speak further.
“Privately….. about that rumored incident.” He added it and I narrowed my eyes.
