Chapter 35 she is dangerous
He blinked a few times while trying to move her face but she grabbed his hair on the back of his head and yanked his head up, making him look at her.
All he could see was a masked face with cold dark green eyes visible only.
She slowly leaned towards him before she replied to him. “Didn’t you recognize me? ..................mate.”
He frowned in confusion, still trying to move away, but she put her right foot in the middle of his thigh, pressing the pointed heel of her boot in his thigh mercilessly.
“Aaahhhhhhhhhh.” He screamed in pain and she thrust the content of the glass inside his mouth forcefully.
He gagged and tried to move his head away, but she tightened his grip on his hair and also pressed the heel deeper, making him drink.
He coughed hard when he choked, but she made sure that he finished the glass.
She threw the glass away after she poured the last drop inside his mouth and pushed him away with so much force that the chair fell backward.
He widened his eyes in panic while holding his throat and coughing.
“Aaahhhhhhh.” He screamed in pain again when his back and the back of his head hit the tiled floor.
His head spun and the pain produced a ringing sound in his ears.
“Pathetic. I don’t know what the goddess was thinking while pairing me with a pathetic wolf like you who can’t even stand the slightest pain.” She taunted him in the same way he taunted at her back then.
The pure hatred and disgust for Bernard was evident in her voice. Bernard’s heart skipped a beat when he registered what she said.
The words were oddly familiar, but he couldn’t remember where he had listened to those words.
“I am glad that now I don’t have any relation with you, but you are still as dimwit as you were at that time. The audacity of yours to bring that incident in front of the public, humiliating me once again.” She continued to scold him coldly while taking steps towards him at a slow pace.
She stopped near his legs and pressed her left heel on his ankle with all her strength this time.
“Aaahhhhhhh.” He wailed aloud in pain, curling his body to reach his ankle. Before he could grab her ankle, she removed her heel from his ankle and pressed the right heel in the middle of the forearm.
He was about to scream again in pain when she leaned down quickly and slapped him hard.
“So noisy. Are you really an alpha or you just pretend to be an alpha to boost your ego?” she scolded him again, while slapping a few more times.
Bernard felt his voice struck inside his throat and the way his head spin from one side to another, he felt dizzier than he was feeling already because of the alcohol and whatever drug was mixed in the whiskey.
She kicked his stomach with all her strength before moving away from him. He rolled on the ground while holding his stomach, trying to produce any voice, but the pain was so intense that he couldn’t even gag.
“Both of us were living our lives peacefully, but you were having an itch in your as. I am sure that you had already assumed that I am dead or not strong enough to come after you but here we are.” She continued scolding him coldly and sat down on a chair, her legs spread leisurely on the floor, showing the soles of her boots.
The pain sobered Bernard a little and he slowly moved his gaze on the figure sitting on the chair. She was completely clad in black leather clothes from head to toe, showing her petite figure.
Only her dark green eyes were visible and slowly his mind started registering whatever he succeeded in hearing from what she spoke all this time.
“Tell me, Bernard. How are you feeling now? Lying like the pathetic worm that you actually are. Crying like a banshee, holding your stomach as if your life is dependent on that.”
Her taunts were enough to infuriate Bernard, but his heart was beating faster than a bullet train.
He registered her first word.
“MATE”
How could it be?
How could she survive?
How is she still alive?
Not only alive but also kicking his as.
Her dark green eyes were so familiar to him yet so strange and scary at the same time.
Her eyes were cold and focused on him. They looked like an abyss.
“H….ow dare you?” he yelled, gritting his teeth, but the voice coming out of his mouth sounded like a painful mew instead of yelling.
“How dare I?” her voice thundered the whole surrounding. She straightened her back at lightning speed, startling Bernard in the process.
His gaze was still unfocused and the pain in his head was still severe.
“How dare you humiliate me like this again? Do you really think that you can make fun of my misery at any time without facing any consequences?” she roared, shaking him to his core.
His eyes widened in shock; his gaze filled with disbelief.
She was an omega by rank, and he couldn’t smell her right now. She was practically a rogue and yet her roar was more powerful than an alpha's.
She lunged towards him, and the next second, her hand was wrapped around his throat.
“You really like drugging people, huh? How does it feel to lose control of your body, making you feel pathetic and helpless, Bernard?” she asked him coldly, her gaze locked with him.
He was still in a state of shock, but her question snapped him out of his trance.
He tried to move his hand to grab his wrist but his heart skipped a beat in fear when he realized that he really didn’t have any control over his body.
“What did you do to me?” he asked her angrily, but the voice was still the same.
She smirked coldly, but he could only see the mockery in her gaze. Her grip on his throat was painfully tight.
“I gave you the taste of your medicine, Bernard. You filled my body with wolfsbane. I did the same. The only difference is that I used a modified version of wolfsbane on you. It’s still under trial, and who can be a better test subject than an alpha, huh?” She replied to him in a malicious taunt, a murderous instinct evident in her gaze.
His whole body shook in fear and his breath was ragged. He felt his blood boiling inside his veins. The burning sensation spreading in his internal organs made him want to writhe in pain, but he couldn’t even move a muscle.
He wanted to scream in pain, but his throat burned as if someone had thrust hot coal inside his throat.
“But I am not as cruel as you are, Bernard. I will make you feel the pain that I went through that night but in my way.” She added it coldly with a sinister look, sobering Bernard a little more in fear.
