Chapter 12 his suspicion wasn't wrong

Chapter 12 his suspicion wasn't wrong
Alexander’s P.O.V. (Continued)

I stood up and walked to him. “They requested us to send some help as the rogues surrounded their border from three different directions.” He continued while doing something on his laptop.

“Which pack is around that pack?” I asked him calmly. In the past few years, rogue attacks on small packs have increased at a very alarming rate.

He didn’t answer but opened the map. Edwin knocked on the door before entering the room.

“Contact the Night Shadow Pack and the Light Howl Pack to send a team of warriors to help the pack, Edwin.” Hunter instructed Edwin while zooming at the Light Ray Pack.

“The Light Howl Pack will not help. The alpha has some grudge against the alpha of the Light Ray Pack.” Edwin informed in a grim tone.

“He dares to defy my orders?” I asked him angrily.

Edwin didn’t reply to me but dialed a number on his phone. Velan growled angrily when we realized what Edwin wanted to prove here. It seems that I have become lenient to the extent where they could think that they could defy my orders.

“Gamma Edwin.” A man greeted Edwin in a rough voice.

“Alpha Drake, the king wants you to send a team of fifty warriors to the Light Ray Pack. They are under attack.” Edwin ordered him in a commanding voice.

“I beg your pardon, Gamma, but I have to defy this order.” Alpha Drake replied arrogantly.

“Are you sure that you want to do this, Drake?” I asked him coldly, anger evident in my voice.

He went silent for a few seconds. I am not a patient one. “Either you will send help there, Drake, or I will cut off all the aid you are getting from us.” I threatened him coldly.

“If you think that you can go against my orders, then, I will have no hesitation of declaring your whole pack banish from my reign. You know what exactly this means, Drake.” I added, leaving no room for any negotiations.

“But Damon has hired a rogue group as an external security service, my king. They are working with rogues. I…… I am sure that this attack is not but a deceiving act.” He argued, but my brow furrowed.

“You mean to say Night Raven’s group?” Hunter asked, making me look at him in confusion.

“Yes, Beta Hunter. This is the group leader’s name. Please, spare my pack and have mercy on us. The Light Ray Pack is getting rebellious by associating themselves with a rogue group.” Drake immediately pleaded for mercy but mentioned that group again.

None of us spoke again immediately, but Hunter suddenly changed the window and a spreadsheetopened onto the screen. I leaned while reading the content.

He searched for Night Raven’s name.

To my surprise, a series of results immediately reflected on the screen.

“You and the Night Ray Pack shared a common road, Drake, and two months ago, when the Night Ray Pack was attacked, Night Raven’s group not only saved their warriors, but also secured your border when the rogues ran in your pack’s direction. According to the information submitted by your beta at that time, almost twenty border patrollers were saved by those rogues.” Hunter read the report and return there and my jaw hardened.

“I don’t care what happened in the past, and we will have a proper meeting about this later, Drake, but for now, you are sending help. That’s final.” I said to Drake angrily and signalled Edwin to hang up.

“B…. but, my king.” Drake yelled in panic, but Edwin hung up.

“The Night Shadow Pack has already sent the aide to them.” He informed me and I looked at Hunter, who still had a grim expression on his face.

“Night Raven is the code name of the security company ran by Amelia, Alexander.” Hunter told me while moving his gaze at me.

“And in the past eighteen months, more than ten packs have hired her company as the external security service provider.” He added further and I narrowed my eyes.

“Can we see what exactly is going on there?” I asked him, feeling intrigued by the whole situation.

“It’s difficult but let me try.” Hunter replied and then started working on his laptop.

I looked at Edwin, who still had the grim expression.

“What is it, Edwin?” I asked him with a serious expression.

“It’s getting suspicious now, my king. These constant attacks are affecting not only the economy, but they are also weakening our defense mechanism.”

The grimace on his face turned darker with every word coming out of his mouth.

“And you are suspecting that the Night Raven group is scheming these attacks and then they are providing aid, making the packs trust them.” he replied firmly, and on the rational basis, his suspicion wasn’t wrong.

“They said that they were wrongly accused and abused their packs, but we would have known if something like that had happened in different packs. Of course, they aren’t from the same pack.” He argued, but I scoffed.

“Did you forget what happened to me and that girl four years ago, Edwin?” I asked him and he stiffened.

Only Hunter and Edwin know what happened back then. They tried so hard to find that girl, but we couldn’t even get her name.

“I got it!” Hunter exclaimed excitedly. I looked back at the screen. The footage wasn’t clear, but I saw her.

“Goddess!” Hunter exclaimed in shock. Edwin also came to the other side.

My heart skipped a beat and Velan immediately came forward, watching her fighting there through my eyes.

Hunter hacked their security system and got a view from a camera. The footage wasn’t as clear as if someone tried to break the camera but couldn’t destroy it completely.

She had a sword and a big dagger in her hands. She disappeared and then came back while fighting with some rogue wolves.

The wolves were snarling threateningly but she had an expressionless face as if she didn't hear anything around her.

She killed mercilessly. They attacked her together, wounding her body, but she didn’t stop.

“Can we see through other cameras?” Edwin asked, sounding excited.

“They have destroyed other cameras there. I am trying to find other cameras around the station border.” Hunter told him, but my eyes were glued to Amelia.

I narrowed my eyes when I noticed that she never looked at anyone. Her neck was straight all the time.

Others with her had masks on their faces. I wondered why her face was unmasked.

Edwin’s phone started ringing again.

I stiffened when I sensed a familiar presence outside my room.

“Why is he here?” I asked Edwin coldly. He looked confused, but soon his expression stiffened, and he immediately ran towards the door. I almost ground my teeth in a fit of rage because of the person now standing outside my office.

“I have a very urgent matter to discuss with the king, Gamma Edwin. Please, let me speak with him,” he pleaded to Edwin, but I growled threateningly.
