Chapter 29 change in aura

Chapter 29 change in aura
Amber’s P.O.V. (Continued)

For a few seconds, I couldn’t breathe.
I just stared at the man, still standing in the middle of the door.
His sea-green eyes met with my crystal blue eyes.
I felt the whole world vanish at this very moment, leaving only him in front of me.
All my longing whirled torturously in my heart.
“Who is he?”
“Damn, he is hot.”
“He must train the whole day. Look at his taut muscles.”
The whispers about his body, his presence, filled my surroundings, but I felt tears in my eyes.
I slowly walked in his direction when he also started walking in my direction.
“What took you so long?” I complained in a shaky voice, almost running in his direction.
He smiled widely, spreading his hands beside his body.
I jumped right into his embrace, my hands wrapped around his neck, and my legs wrapped around his waist.
He laughed while wrapping his hands around my waist in a secure embrace.
I sobbed while hiding my face in the crook of his neck.
We talked every day, but I really missed him.
“I missed you, bro.” I sobbed against his skin in the neck.
Except for those two years of his training in the Alpha Academy, we never stayed apart.
And after our parents' death, he had always been the pillar of our family and my emotional pillow.
“Look at you. Still a small girl,” he teased me, but his grip around my waist tightened.
I knew through our bond that he was as overwhelmed as I was.
I didn’t hear a voice around us.
Just my sobs from time to time.
“This is your training time, and you are crying like a baby, Amber.” He teased me again, but his own voice came hoarse.
His comforting scent of musk and sandalwood calmed my nerves, but I tightened my grip on him.
I was clinging to him like a koala.
Just like I always did in the past.
He continued stroking my lower back to comfort me. The slight vibrations in his chest were enough to tell that he was also trying to control his emotions.
He had always been like this.
Always controlling his emotions very well.
“Who is he, Amber?” I heard Yana asking me.
It was when I remembered that we weren’t alone.
I felt embarrassed and not embarrassed at the same time.
“Wow! I really missed the meltdown of the most ruthless she-wolf!” I felt like finding a hole for myself to hide when I heard Ethan's teasing remark on me.
“Beta Ethan," David greeted Ethan formally.
I slowly unwrapped my legs from his waist, and he put me down on the ground.
I was sure that my eyes were now swollen, and my face was filled with mucus and tears.
“You guys met after a long time. Take Amber out. No training for her for now,” Ethan said to David in a light tone.
“It’s not right, Beta Ethan. No need to be so lenient with her.” David replied to him.
He also passed a handkerchief to me.
I took it from him and immediately wiped my face. I was still sniffing lightly.
“Now, I understand why Amber is so tough. No slack in training, huh?” Ethan teased David while winking slightly.
David smiled widely, still holding me tightly.
“Oh, my bad!” Ethan suddenly exclaimed, making me look up worriedly.
“Everyone.” He spoke loudly, and it was then that I realized that we had people around us, and they didn’t know David.
“This is David Holt, Amber’s older brother, and also a pack member.” Ethan introduced David to everyone in the same loud voice.
I beamed with pride while looking at my brother.
“David Holt? As if David Holt, who beat the four alpha heirs in a duel in the alpha’s academy?” I rolled my eyes in annoyance when Greg exclaimed aloud, excitedly.
“That’s an exaggeration,” David replied, his face flushed in embarrassment.
“Oh, my goddess! Is this really true?” Someone else exclaimed in shock, too.
I felt annoyed.
My brother’s achievements reach the place before him.
“Come on, bro.” I grinned widely while holding his arm tightly and swinging it slightly.
Ethan laughed with others. I didn’t feel embarrassed.
For the first time after waking up from that nightmare, I felt like I could act naturally.
I could act like Amber as I was before that nightmare.
David’s eyes widened a little, and my heart skipped a beat.
I tightened my grip on his arm, scared by the redness at the corners of his eyes.
“I am happy, kiddo.” He said to me through mind-link.
I was still scared.
“Come on. Let me show you our training building.” Ethan said to David while patting his shoulder.
David nodded, and we were about to start to walk when Greg and a few other warriors approached us.
Ethan sighed aloud, rolling his eyes with resignation.
Ethan was known for his coldness and ruthlessness in beta duties and training.
Otherwise, he is the most easygoing person in the pack.
“Alpha Holt.” Greg greeted David with utmost respect, but the title that he used made all of us stiffen immediately.
I knew my family history very well and also that our original title couldn’t call us.
“For how long will you stay with us?” Greg continued asking excitedly
“Will you train us a few times?” Greg continued asking in the same excitement, but his smile faltered when the warrior standing behind him nudged him.
“What?” Greg asked that warrior annoyingly but paused his gaze in the same direction and stiffened.
“It’s okay,” David spoke to everyone calmly.
Greg slowly craned his neck in our direction and also looked at us fearfully.
I didn't pay attention to the change in my aura.
My grip on David's arm tightened immediately. He patted my hand gently to comfort me, but now I was nervous.
“This is the royal pack, and once we leave that pack, we are prone to be known by our original rank,” David spoke calmly; his body was relaxed, and his aura was also calm.
I still looked around nervously but breathed out in relief when I saw that everyone was now looking at David with admiration and respect.
"Will it be a problem for you?" Ethan asked worriedly.
Greg opened his mouth to say something when we all stiffened.
I immediately looked in the direction of the entrance when a domineering presence was felt outside the training ground.
Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and immediately straightened their posture.
“Stand up straight, kiddo. Follow other people’s lead from now on. I especially came to warn you about this.” David warned me through mind-link, and I immediately did what others were doing until I saw the second person who visited us today.
No….
Came back home today.
