FRED

I am looking at Alexia as the physician I ordered is running some private checkings on her.

"Will she be alright?" I asked as soon as he finished. He put his materials into his bag before walking towards where I stood.

"She is just sick. Probably due to stress but I'll recommend some herbs and I promise that she'll be alright if she takes them regularly" he assures me and I nod in understanding before signalling a sentinel to lead him out and also get the herbs he mentioned for Alexia.

"Yes my lord" he replied before escorting him outside to carry out my bidding.

I walk towards Alexia and stand in front of her. She looks weary and a but frail.

"The physician confirmed that you are just stressed so please rest and if there's anything else that you need then let me know and I'll take of it"

She gives me a weak smile that doesn't reach her eyes.

"Of course my lord. Thank you"

"You haven't had enough rest ever since my accident and we all took it out on you so it's better that you stay indoors and get your strength. I'll make sure that I come to visit you alright?"

"Okay my lord"

There was a brief pause and the room felt full but luckily a loud knock was heard on the door so we were able to look away and breathe in normally.

The first thought that came to my mind was that it was Asher but then again, Asher isn't so chivalrous to go about and check in on the well-being of others so I took slow and steady strides towards the door and pull it open.

It was one of the werewolf sentinels that works In the palace. I saw Alexia relax when she realized that it was just a guard and no one else.

"Speak!" I ordered

"There is an urgent meeting in the council and your brother requests your presence" he delivered. I looked at him as I tried to understand what he meant by urgent. Is Asher in trouble with the council again? Did he do something wrong? How come he's in trouble again? Or is it something else that he isn't aware of?

"Do you know what the matter is concerning the meeting at the council?" I asked trying to find out as much information as I can from the situation.

"It's a closed door meeting my lord. Therefore I cannot say" he rambled and I nod.

"Alright. You may go. I'll be there" I tell him and he rushes off in an instant.

I turn to look at Alexia and her eyes are filled with worry, panic and dread.

"What is wrong?" She asked with her head raised up from the pillow before I could even mutter a word.

"I don't know but I plan to find out. You don't have to worry about that. I will come back later and check up on you after the meeting. Just have enough rest" I tell her and she rests her head back on the bed.

I leave her room and go straight to mine to prepare myself for the meeting.

We have a standard to uphold and I wouldn't want to go there looking like i just got out of the dungeon.

Satisfied with my look, I head out of my chambers and straight to the courtroom where I know that the meeting is being held with the pack members.

I arrived and the guards at the entrance opened the door widely to usher me in.

The sight I see as soon as I enter is Asher pacing and almost raging mad. I knew then that something is wrong. Asher only gets into a black mood when something extremely bad has happened. No one really knows but I am able to decipher most of my brother's temper tantrums. This one means that he feels like murdering someone almost immediately.

"The Beta is here!" They announced as soon as I enter and I acknowledge them in greeting as well.

"I should've killed him!" Asher raved "I should've killed that monster of a man when I had the chance to!" He barked and clenched his fists tightly that I saw blood dripping from his folded hands. What exactly is going on?

Asher is tethering on the edge and if he goes berserk then no one, not even him can calm him down.

I walked towards him and placed my hands on his shoulder. He turned around swiftly and almost dugged into my skin with his claws. His blue eyes had turned crimson red which means that the wolf is in danger and is almost on the verge of being unleashed.

"Fight control Asher!" I tell him and he angrily scratched at my face. I felt the sting but it didn't hurt as much.

The other members of the council had gone quiet. They were scared of him alright and I'm guessing that's the reason why they urgently called me here before he spirals out of control.

"Please brother! I do not want to loose you to your anger. Fight the wolf. Don't let it out to the surface" I pleaded with the softest voice I could muster.

He Yanked his hands away and began to take deep breaths as he tried to subdue the wolf.

If he shifts into his wolf form then he'll definitely loose all sense of reasoning and the basic instinct would be to attack. He would kill anything and everything on its path and it would be brutal for everyone. That is why he is the Alpha king. That is why they call him the demon Alpha.

"Fred!" He growled before turning to look at me. His eyes had gone back to their normal shades of deep blue color which meant that he was okay now.

"I am here brother. Tell me what happened!" I urged and he sneered.

"Alpha Jed of the Blue crescent pack has escaped" he broke the news to me and suddenly, I felt weak to the knees. This isn't good news at all.
