Chapter 127 0127

Chapter 127 0127
Two days later, Dax walked into the grand hall where Asher was sitting silently on his chair.  Since the day Joel returned and revealed the shocking truth, Asher had barely spoken to anyone. He had spent the last two days waiting for the DNA result, hoping with every part of him that Joel was lying. Beside Dax stood Joel, his head lowered in shame and nervousness. His hands trembled slightly at his sides, and he could barely bring himself to look at Asher directly.

“Alpha Asher, the DNA test is out,” Dax finally said in a careful voice as he stopped in front of Asher. In his hands was a brown folder containing the result everyone had been waiting for.

Asher slowly lifted his eyes toward the folder in Dax’s hand. For a moment, he just stared at it without moving, as though he was afraid of what was written inside. His jaw tightened painfully, and after a few seconds, he finally stretched out his hand and collected the file from Dax. The hall remained silent as everyone waited for him to open it. Even Joel stopped breathing properly, fear filling his chest as he prayed Asher would not kill him after reading the result.

“And what does it say?” Asher asked coldly before opening the file. He had waited for days just to know the truth. For years, he had raised Eric as his own son. The thought that everything might have been a lie was enough to drive him insane.

Dax stepped back quietly as Asher unfolded the paper and began reading the result. At first, Asher’s expression remained blank, but the more his eyes moved across the paper, the darker his face became. Veins appeared around his clenched fists, and anger slowly filled his entire body. Then suddenly, the paper slipped from his hand and floated down onto the floor. The result clearly stated that Eric was zero percent related to him by blood.

For a long moment, Asher said nothing. He just sat there staring ahead in complete silence, trying to process what he had just read. His chest rose and fell heavily as rage burned inside him like fire. He felt humiliated. Betrayed. Foolish. All these years he had truly believed Eric was his son, never once doubting Mila. But now the truth had been thrown into his face so cruelly. He felt as though the entire world was mocking him. Deep down, he wished Mila was still alive, just so he could look her in the eyes and ask her why she had done something so heartless to him.

Joel stood there nervously, unable to meet Asher’s eyes. Shame completely covered his face as he realized the damage his actions had caused. He knew Asher trusted him once. He had been loyal to the pack, yet he betrayed the Alpha in the worst way possible by secretly being with Mila.

After what felt like forever, Asher slowly raised his head and stared coldly at Joel. The look in his eyes was terrifying enough to make anyone tremble in fear.

“What do you want?” Asher finally asked in a deadly calm voice.

Only then did Joel gather enough courage to lift his head. His eyes were already filled with tears as he looked at Asher pleadingly. “All I want is my son,” Joel said. “Please, Alpha Asher… I know I made mistakes. I know I betrayed your trust, but Eric is my son. Please allow me to take him with me. I promise I will take care of him with my life.”

Asher swallowed hard and looked away for a moment. The request stabbed painfully into his chest. No matter what the test said, Eric was still the boy he had raised for years.  Letting him go would not be easy at all.

Just then, Dax slowly stepped closer and leaned toward Asher slightly.

“I think you should let him take Eric,” Dax whispered quietly. “Eric deserves to know who his real father is. And Joel clearly loves him.”

After speaking, Dax stepped back again, allowing Asher to think in silence.

Asher remained quiet for a long time, deep in thought. Even though anger still burned fiercely inside him, another part of him understood the pain of being separated from one’s child.

Still, that did not erase the betrayal.

The fact that Joel and Mila had been together behind his back still felt like a knife stabbing into his pride. It was a disgrace to the Alpha of Silver Pack. But despite all his anger, he could not ignore the truth standing before him.

“Please,” Joel begged again as he suddenly dropped to his knees. “I swear I will protect him. I will never let anything happen to him. Please give me a chance to be his father.”

Finally, Asher took a deep breath before speaking.

“I will speak to Eric first before you take him,” Asher said.

The moment those words left his mouth, relief flooded Joel’s face instantly. Tears gathered in his eyes as he bowed his head deeply toward Asher.

“Thank you, Alpha. Thank you so much,” Joel said emotionally. “May the Moon Goddess bless you for your kindness.”

Asher’s face remained cold as he looked down at him.

“But listen carefully,” Asher warned

“You must promise me that you will protect Eric with your life. No harm must ever come to him. If anything happens to that boy because of your carelessness, I swear I will hunt you down myself.”

Joel nodded immediately without hesitation.

“I promise,” he said. “I will protect him no matter what.”

Asher leaned back slowly against his chair, closed his eyes briefly and rubbed his forehead tiredly.

Meanwhile, deep inside the forbidden forest where Mila’s body had been buried, darkness covered the entire place like a heavy curse. The forest was silent and cold, with thick fog moving slowly between the trees. Even the wind barely blew there, and the cries of strange creatures echoed from far away. The place itself felt evil, as though death lived inside it. The moonlight struggled to pass through the tall black trees, making the forest appear even more terrifying. Right in the middle of the forest stood a lonely grave covered with fresh soil,  the place where Mila’s body had been buried after her death.

Suddenly, a dark shadow appeared beside the grave, and slowly the old witch revealed herself. Her long black robe moved with the wind as her cold eyes stared down at the grave silently. Her face looked calm, but the wicked smile slowly growing on her lips showed she had come there for something dangerous. After a few seconds, another figure appeared beside her, Xavira, her daughter. The young woman stood quietly beside her mother, her red eyes glowing faintly in the darkness as she stared at the grave with curiosity.

For a long moment, neither of them spoke. The air around them suddenly became colder, and the trees around the grave began to shake violently even though there was no wind. Then slowly, the old witch raised both of her hands into the air and began chanting strange words under her breath.  Dark smoke slowly began flowing out from her mouth and circled around her body before moving straight toward the grave.

The black magic entered the ground slowly like poison spreading through water. The earth around the grave immediately began trembling violently. Cracks formed across the soil as the darkness continued sinking deeper into the grave. The old witch’s eyes glowed brighter while she continued whispering her spell without stopping.

After a while, she suddenly stopped chanting and lowered her hands slowly.

Then suddenly

Boom!

The soil covering the grave exploded apart violently. Sand and dirt flew into the air from every direction as though something underneath was forcing its way out. The grave began digging itself open slowly. More and more soil moved away on its own.

Xavira smiled darkly as she watched the grave opening completely.

Soon, Mila’s body was finally revealed inside the hole.

Her once beautiful body now looked rotten and terrifying. Her skin had turned pale gray, parts of her flesh already decaying badly. Her lips were dark, and her long hair was dirty with mud and blood.

The old witch and Xavira slowly turned toward each other before both of them stretched their hands toward the grave at the same time.

Instantly, black magic exploded from their palms.

The dark energy flowed like thick smoke as it rushed directly into Mila’s lifeless body. The magic surrounded her corpse completely, covering her from head to toe while strange symbols appeared glowing around the grave.

For several long moments, nothing happened.

Then suddenly….

Mila’s fingers twitched.

Xavira smiled wider.

Again, Mila’s hand moved slowly before her rotten fingers grabbed the edge of the grave tightly. Dirt crumbled beneath her nails as her dead body slowly began pulling itself upward. Her movements looked unnatural and stiff, like a corpse being forced back to life against nature itself.

Slowly, Mila lifted herself out of the grave.

She sat upright inside the hole, breathing heavily even though dead bodies were not supposed to breathe. Her rotten chest moved strangely while black veins spread across her pale skin. Mud and blood dripped down her body as she slowly lifted her head.

The old witch smiled proudly at what she had done.

“Stand up,” she commanded coldly.

Like a puppet obeying its master, Mila slowly rose to her feet. Her body swayed dangerously for a moment before becoming still. Then she slowly turned her face toward the old witch and Xavira.

Then suddenly, thick black smoke surrounded the three women completely.

And within seconds….

They all disappeared.
